Avoid this SCAM Pharmacy in Indonesia 🇮🇩

- The last place that you'd think would try to scam you would be a pharmacy in a non-touristic area, right?
All medication in Indonesia is stamped with it's retail price. However this pharmacy in Sumatra has a policy of charging foreigners more than double. The medication I asked for was 22,000 for Locals and 50,000 for foreigners apparently.
The way to deal with such unscrupulous behaviour is to walk away and find an honest business to give your money to. Sometimes it may not seem like a big deal when you know you're being ripped off for a couple of bucks but if you willingly allow yourself to be scammed then you're just encouraging the scammers and making it harder for the next potential victim. Next it will be 3x the price, then 4x, and more as long as they can get away with this kind of behaviour.
But a better way is to put them on RUclips and expose their terrible practices to the world.

I know you should never judge a book by it's cover, but the impression from just looking at the second girl made me think that she seemed more honest than the other ones.
I as an Indonesian feel ashamed to see this, there is no other word than sorry for the inconvenience while you are in Indonesia. I guarantee there are still many honest people in Indonesia

imagine if you’re sick going to a pharmacy in a bad condition and this is the customer service the pharmacy gave you.
Scamming when it's about medicine is absolutely disgusting and should be punished with no mercy. Using peoples allergies or illnesses to make as much money as possible is just pathetic.

Im indonesian, and i can confirm this is real, there's some cashier in indonesia scamming tourist by giving unbelievable higher price for them.
I'm Indonesian and currently live in Jakarta. On 2021 I have a commercial Shoot at Toba, and then one day I looked for dextamine and found the same apotek as you visited. They gave me the normal price lol, what a shame after watching this video I felt bad.
Not only foreigners they also did scam to tourist from Indonesia.
