      @@drewsquickfix I’m hoping it’s not an alternator problem, haven’t exactly seen any signs for it but borrowing a coworkers alternator tester just to make sure, the charger worked phenomenally though for real. Definitely happy with this investment. And you got it, buddy. Subscribed.

      Have the auto parts store test your alternator. Their tests can be wrong sometimes but do work. If your alternator was really bad it wouldn't recharge the batter at all While the car runs. But it may not be giving full current

    Some videos show that you hook both the positive AND negative clamps to the battery; others show that you SHOULDNT connect the negative clamp to the battery, but to something metal on the engine. Which is correct?

    • @drewsquickfix
      @drewsquickfix  7 месяцев назад

      Honestly I'm not sure. For charging I hook up positive and negatives to the battery. For jump starts from car to car I hook up to neutral metal. It is confusing allot of newer cars don't allow contact with the negative terminal on the battery

      I could bit revive a battery that sat for 1 year with no driving. It was 3 years old. So basically if you let a battery fully drain over several mo their can be difficult to bring back to life because the fluids inside have depleted or something like that.

      Good question brandy, an alternator can be tested at autoparts stores free. First you have to charge your battery or jumpstart the car for several.minutes. have a friend follow you in their car or your AAA membership ready . If the car quits while your driving it definitally the akternator. Most of the time its the battery and it just needs charging. Average battery lasts 3-4 years

    I’ve had issues with this charger overcharging my battery to 16V. It’s known to do weird stuff.
    Lead acid batteries cannot be left to sit in a drained status. You absolutely must leave it hooked up to a trickle charger or the battery will die and cost you money.
    Leaving a lead acid in a drained state is basically abuse.
