Even if this was recorded 2 yrs ago, it is still helpful. I purchased this portable starter bank, but that was dead and decided that I needed to know how to use it while it was charging. Thanks for making this video!
Wow , This simple video shows not only How that Power Bank has , But as a Father like you sir , It showed how much we really care for our kids while their out there . Good job
You are so smart. and you explain how the car starting/charging system so well. thanks for the video! good luck to your daughter going to college! If she is as smart as dad, she will be very successful.
Good information. However you stated your daughter was going to jump start her car but you didn't let her. You connected positive first and then negative which is correct. You need to do the reverse when taking them off (Negative first then Positive). By the way you should remove the cables within 30 seconds after starting not start the car within 30 seconds. We have these in all our vehicles and my daughter was able to use it herself and worked great. Great Product from Costco.
Hi I wanna ask as I am quite new in jumpstarting cars, I tried using this jumpstart battery kit like in this video but although the battery is off the black cable gave off a tiny spark when I tried to connect it to the car battery negative terminal, then I found out my car dome light is on as it was night time, it is safe to retry to jumpstart the car again once I ensure all lights and I check my car is parked at P no aircon, wipers or other lights on?
@@liyenong2017 Sorry for this late reply. Yes, turning all those items off will allow the jump starter to zero in on the starter motor to get the engine going.
I have these and on page 10 it says to remove red/positive first then black/ negative 😬 i'm about to charge my car. I assume from your tips though that it might be possible to do either way
Immaculate engine and accessories, clean interior, battery with 0 corrosion, real engine parts as teaching models ... you must be a "Double E" Great video. Thanks
Usually batteries only last about four years. Keep a fresh battery in the vehicle after that. For about $150.00 you can get a great battery. Most auto parts store install them for free. Don’t forget to check the distilled water in the battery if you have that type of battery. Take a screwdriver and take those caps off. If it’s low in distilled (yes it must be distilled water) top it off to the measuring line. Many people neglect this procedure. Oh yes excellent video😊
Your welcome. I noticed you have the type of battery that you must check the water. Pop the caps with a screw driver to check water. Distilled only. You usually can get it in the water section of any store
Here's an experiment rarely seen on RUclips: 1. Jump start the car 2. After a very short period of time (seconds), turn the ignition off. The car's battery will likely still be dead, as the alternator hasn't been given sufficient time to recharge it. 3. Attempt to jump start the car again off the same jump-start device, without attempting to recharge the device. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to determine exactly how many jump starts the device can perform before it fails.
I used the Type S the other day when i mistakenly left my van on overnight to crack the windows open. Worked right away. Really impressed. I went to get the Noco but it is 3x the cost of the Type S Costco. I am wondering why the huge price difference and if it is justified. I just need it for emergencies if my passenger car battery dies. I do appreciate quality and will pay a premium if something is worth it but i don't know what the huge difference is between the NOCO and TYPE S
So very cool Demonstration Bro. infact i have bought the same charger from Costco today ,since i am driving a 2002 honda crv ,but the car run very well but in case thats why i bought the charger . Thank you so much for you and for your time. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗☺☺🤩🤩
Thanks for the information. I love the 98 Camry. Don't be fooled by the look. With proper maintenance like oil change regularly, it is still a good car. As to the hood and the fade paint for lazy maintenance, just mix some mineral spirit and boil linseed oil, wipe it on 2 coats for drying each 12hr to protect it from further sun damage. People said it can last for a year or two for doing it again.
Just a little fun bit of information: your daughter definitely does not drive a V4 motor car...it would be an inline 4 also known as a 4banger... there's V6, V8, V10, and even V12 engines, however there is no V4 engine that exists for production cars in north America... Likely not any other continent either. For future reference your daughter drives a 4 banger or online 4.
THis is a term typically used in other countries, and they intertwine the V4 typically found on motorcycles and the other 4 cylinder engines as well as the V6/8/10/12.
It is important to keep the full charge all the time and maintain it by keeping an eye on it. Last week I tried to jumpstart my neighbor's car and it didn't work, found out that the charge doesn't maintain.
Couldn't get it to fit in the small carrying case with the cables, which isn't really weird as things go these days. Looking forward to trying this item out with charging my camera etc.
I got the same one a long time ago, but didn't get to use it till now, and for some reason, the electronics inside the clamp's little black box got burned as soon as I plug the clamp into the battery. Then I found out that even though they labeled their connector as EC5, it's not. Almost all EC5 clamp replacements you see online will not fit into the battery. Their "D" looking side has round corners, while regular EC5 connectors I found online all have straight corners. The replacement one on their website cost a whopping $30. Buyers beware.
Thanks for demoing the Type S from Costco. Would be nice to see what the Voltage was before the jump. Also, quit curious as to how much battery was left on the jumper afterwards. And what is the minimum about of battery required on the jumper unit to get a successful jump etc. If you happened to have more info after the making the video, let me know! Thanks for making the video! PS. I was told that, depending on how dead the battery is, you might want to leave it connected for 5mins or so, oh and also make sure to turn off all the electronics in the car (a/c, lights etc.) before attempting the jump.
The jump starter needs to have at least 50% or more capacity before jumping starting a car. Also you must disconnect the cables from the car within 30 seconds after you jumped the car. Not a good idea to leave connected longer than that…Thanks!
Hello, thank you for your informative videos. I also just bought one of this from Costco. I have a scooter that uses 4 SLA batteries like what you're showing in another video which are connected in series? (I'm not sure), and I haven't used the scooter for quite a while, so the batteries are dead and I can't charge it with the original scooter charger. Can I use this Costco jump starter to recharge or jump start these SLA batteries? Do I have to remove the batteries completely out of the scooter, and one by one to charge them or can I just leave them in the scooter and connect this Costco jump starter to them? If so, can you show me how to connect this Costco jump starter to the batteries? Thank you.
Doubt Costco would sell a fake. They're pretty well known for solid products at lower prices. U can't compare lithium to lead acid so being small and light is not a risk factor. You're not "charging" the vehicle either, you're giving it a jump. Your alternator charges the battery as car runs. Also, these jumpers are made to connect at posts, not + to post and - to chassis. That is inefficient and unnec bec jumpstarters do not have the risk of sparking when attaching to posts...like regular jumper cables from another car do.
can i leave it on with it still clipped? Will that charge the battery?? like i know its a powerbank, can it be used to charge the battery of the car to full?
You can use it to change you iPhones, but you cannot use it to the charge the car battery. It is designed to jumpstart the car so that the car’s alternator can charge the battery. Do not use it to charge the car battery.
Great video. Just bought one of these @ Costco. Those rolling hills in the background and the wind you must be somewhere in California, my guess would be Mountain House/Tracy or Livermore, Brentwood. I hate that wind..lol
Great Video! After charging the unit, how long if I leave it in the car and don't use it for a month or two, when will I need to recharge it back to 100%?
You can check on the capacity level every now and then. If the capacity is below 70% I would charge it back up to 90%. 100% is not good for the battery if you don’t plan on using it right away… Thanks!
