always had a worry about his fidgets, which is why I never took the plunge. 1st the weight and 2nd the brass sliding plates. Brass is too soft as a sliding plate material and gets gummy. Not sure why you wouldn't use stainless for the sliding plate material besides cost.

I was wondering about this myself. My brass plate BD slider has become "gummy" and I've been looking around about how to clean it
