YESSSSSSSSS XENOBLADE 1 AND 2 HAVE SUCH GOOD SOUNDTRACKS. I think you would appreciate engage the enemy from Xenoblade 1, it has some seriously good vocals.
@@auresc04 that remix of Engage the enemy gave me goosebumps to another level when the trailer of DE dropped !!! The composers and orchestras involved in these games are absolute music beasts ❤️
Funny how this plays in a few different scenes in the game but everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, remembers the final scene it plays in because it's so... grandiose
When I listen to it, I always think of that scene and the scene where Jin kills Haze. The scene where Pyra threatens to annihilate herself is really powerful too
Every time this plays, the feeling remains the same through the movements in the cutscenes. A buildup that seems to show sooner than it should, a moment of clarity in making the decision, and then a final build showing how much more dreadful the situation has gotten, leaving us with more questions than answers.
This song give the vibe of: “This decision has the potential to irreversibly change the world forever”: the song. You can feel it convey so much WEIGHT to what is happening. So much tension, foreboding, and the sense that the entire world hangs in the balance.
Xenoblade chronicles 2 is one of my fav soundtracks. Has themes that fit each land so well with awesome nighttime variations. Then there’s the cutscene tracks, final track etc. Man I can’t wait for 3 this summer. 1 also has some bangers but I prefer 2 overall.
"You don't have that kind of power." "Do you just want to hand this place over to them?" The list of my favourite songs from both Xenoblade games is a long one, but this one certainly is on the upper part of the list. You hear this song partially during several cutscenes, but the full version only plays three times. It's mostly remembered for the opening cutscene of Chapter 10, which was where every Xenoblade veteran lost their minds collectively. So, go on and play the first game first ^^
The Decision, one of the final songs of the game, it's an incredible song for what is going on around it and the story it shows you, it ends up being not just a portrayal of a situation, but character.
I love how at 4:31 it’s essentially a minor variation of the main theme of the game! Also this track is so meaningful in terms of plot point. It severs its purpose perfectly ! Thanks for your reaction it was cool to watch :)
absolutely one of my favorites in the series, whoever put this request in is cultured also, you hit the nail on the head this plays during two of what i think are some of the most impactful scenes in the game and both involve the title i'd really love to see you react to some more songs from xc1 and 2, they're really a treasure trove of amazing game music
You ABSOLUTELY need to finish this game! Xenoblade games always have insane plot twists near the end. Especially because Xenoblade 3 will come out this July. I proposed you Xenoblade myself before in a comment section and I'm glad someone else asked for it. There is still other great Xenoblade 2 soundtracks to listen to such as "After despair and hope" or "The power of Jin" for exemple.
YOOO XENOBLADE MOMENT I genuinely forgot this song was in the game, and I also genuinely don't know how because this song is super good :0 Xenoblade has always had a fascinating way of composition, I think theres an interview on it somewhere or something, but its pretty neat for studying musical storytelling
It is played in several key parts in the story... Most notably at: *VERY HUGE SPOILERS FOR BOTH XC2 AND XC1 ENDINGS INCOMING!!!!* The start of chapter chapter 10 "And thus boy met girl" Where you get the flashback where you see what happened in the ancient times and what was first shown at the end of XC1 where Alvis told us that Zanza was once professor Klaus and he destroyed the universe. Revealing that Alrest was once Earth and XC2 was indeed linked to the story of XC1
Love how obviously real and incredibly honest you are in reaction and discussion. Would love to see a video where you break down what makes a good song or sets a good musical tone (in your opinion)
@@MarcoMeatball of course! That’s the beauty of it, I think your viewers (or at least I) respect your authority enough to hear whatever you have to say on it!
Please react to more Xenoblade tracks. Those games have such incredible, INCREDIBLE ost’s. I really enjoy Octopath Traveler’s ost too despite never playing the game. Definitely check that out too if u get the time. It has some crazy songs too!
The soundtrack of the Xenoblade Chronicles games are some of the best OST ever made. You have quite a lot of insanely great songs you absolutely have to listen to.
I remember specifically this was the song that played during the cutscene that absolutely blew my mind in regards to a certain story element, I mean god DAMN was I shocked.
This track gives me chills everytime I hear it without fail, not just because of the context, but the tension and the payoff. It’s so strongly driven and pressurised with how they build up instrumentation and dynamics. Xenoblade truly has some of the most talented composers in the gaming scene working on the games.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 have an amazing soundtrack and I love how the sound, “Our eternal land” is also so pretty to hear it fits the landscape marvelously . ^^
Love this cutscene. It plays basically during a remade cutscene from a previous game (where they also add an element from another saga of games), linking them all together. Not giving more details to not spoil it, but even more dramatic with the dialogue playing over it.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is probably in my top three favorite game OSTs, alongside NieR Replicant and Final Fantasy XV. And in terms of quantity, I think XC2 might have the most standout tracks of them all. Time seriously just melted away while playing that game, because the music was always so great.
This is the song that plays in arguably the most important cutscene of the entire series, in which someone makes a very important decision indeed. New to your content but loving your reactions and commentary on these tracks
Xenoblade chronicles is so amazing and I’m so happy you listened to this song. I have a recommendation for a song to check out if you don’t know it already is ‘poem for everyone’s souls’ from the persona series. it’s such a beautiful song with amazing singing.
Haven't played any Xenoblade Chronicles either, but when I heard this theme it reminded me Xenosaga 3 OST. I imagined a tension situation in outer space, maybe a battle between spaceships.
I got to Xenoblade 2 last year. When PSN did their year in review breakdown that showed how much you played what last year, I got curious and looked at my Switch (which I just got last year too). It was my most played game last year in terms of hours. By a lot. Despite the fact that every time I'm stressed, I replay a Kingdom Hearts game, and I did so to the tune of well over 200 hrs last year (It was a year, wasn't it? lol) I still somehow played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 even more. I am very excited for 3.
One of my favorite parts of this track is at the end when it's reaching the crescendo and then the whole orchestra comes in and the brass takes front and it's full of discord before coming together beautifully to finish it off. This is easily one of my favorite soundtracks of all time.
Aaaa! I don't specifically remember where this track was played. But it definitely pulls me back when I first played XBC2. The story events and all the experience the party was going through! Thanks for the listen; got a chance to relive listening along with ya!
Oh when I saw you have react to XC2 music it made me so happy you have no idea! 😍 XC2 is my favorite on Xenoblade games, just so dear to me. OST is awesome I'm sure you would like it, hopefully you react to more XC2 and get to play the game 💕 Have a nice day 😊
The XB2 soundtrack is five and a half hours of *great* music like this. I will mention my favorite and try to give the emotional context without too many spoilers. There's a song, "The Tomorrow With You", which is heard only twice in the game. (Don't read the RUclips comments if you look it up!) The first time it's about two thirds of the way through, in a scene where it seems like all hope is lost but then a character finally completes their development and awakens their own true power. The emotional message is: this is their complete fulfillment, and their own acceptance of that fulfillment. And the second time is at the very end, something tragic but very needed is happening, and the characters have to accept that it will happen and move bravely forward in the face of it. It tells the player: this is not a tragedy, this is meant to be, but not imposed by some outside fate, rather this is the completion and fulfillment of a certain path. The fact that this song was established to represent this true fulfillment and then is used in this way guides the *player* to the same emotional state as the characters, of accepting it and facing it.
I just found this channel and it's really cool that those reviews were given. Now I would like to make an Octopath Traveler request. ( Daughter of the dark god). I hope to continue watching this channel, it's really good father to see this type of content
you just hit 15k! congratulations!!!! This channel has grown so fast in the amount of time youve been putting out content and cant wait to see how far you go !
I like what you say about the way forward of classical music. I forgot who said it, but I think someone said video games is one of the medium that evolves the classical music.
Xenoblade has some of the best video game tracks ever made. I love this track in 2. The music behind the cutscene(can't say what it was cause spoilers) was some of the best and mind boggling moments in all of Xenoblade. Xenoblade music is just so otherworldly good
It's a shame Xenoblade is still a bit of a niche series since it is a JRPG series but nearly everyone who plays it says that it has one of the greatest OSTs in a video game series period. And with Xenoblade 3 now coming out sooner than expected, we're about to get another 120 track masterpiece.
It's odd because NieR gets universal praise for its music while also still being a niche series. I'm hoping Xenoblade 3 will give the series the boost it deserves in recognition for its excellent soundtrack.
I just stumbled across this video by chance, but my guy, YES! I cannot recommend playing through all Xenoblade Chronicles enough! Especially with 3 on the way this summer, now's a perfect time to full send into Xenoblade! 😂
And another fantastic soundtrack to dig into. Both XC 1 and 2 have some amazing songs. I would recomend something like Mechanical Rhythm or Torna's battle theme.
Omg please continue this series there are so many good videogame songs with epic opera in that you should listen to shadow of the collossus us another one
I’m not sure completely, but if I had to guess, the composer of this song is Yasunori Mitsuda, who I highly regard for his composition in choir based songs. His favorite group to do work is a Celtic style choir group called “Anúna”. My favorite track of theirs has to be “The end of childhood” from the 20th anniversary soundtrack of xenogears
It was at that moment when everything began and everything that would follow was set in motion. For good or ill, the decision was made, and the world would never be the same again. Would love to see you do some more music reactions from the Xenoblade Chronicles Series. Both XC1 and 2 have some really great pieces which blend genres like you were talking about near the end and XCX, while not nearly as well discussed, has some really stellar pieces. In particular I recommend; "Tragic Decision", "Engage the Enemy" and "You Will Know Our Names" as really stand out tracks from Xenblade chronicles 1 that you could listen to, I would have included the final boss theme as well, but its name has spoilers for the endgame so I'd say wait on that one. As for XC2, I'd recommend; "Counterattack", "The Power of Jin", "You Will Recall Our Names", "Elysium in the Blue Sky", "Battle In the Sky Above" and "After Despair and Hope" as good listening. Finally, I have a hard time picking from the XCX soundtrack; "46-:ri9 (Sylvalum Area Theme Day/Night versions)", "Wir Fliegan" and "Uncontrollable" are the ones that come to mind first, but "No. 2 = ThemX" is a great one, "The Key We've Lost", and the other area themes are pretty good choices as well. There are so many it's just so hard to choose. Anyway, thanks for listening to my rambling, looking forwards to the next video.
Another great opera like song is Bionis Awakening from Xenoblade 1, it has a similar vibe and story importance, one of my favorites, if you like this one you will love that as well.
If I may interject a song I think you should react to would be Rivers in The Desert from Persona 5. Without giving away the context of when the song plays, it is one of my favorite battle songs in all of gaming.
Xenoblade Chronicles music aside from X are some of my favorite video game series music up there with Kingdom Hearts! I wish that Monolith Soft would release a digital album for the original game. I would buy it in a heartbeat! Video game music is so underappreciated! More people need to hear it, especially the older generations! It seems there's still a lot of older people that think video games are still just bleeps and bloops or just dont' realize that games have full orchestras that perform music for video games. It's amazing how far video game music has come in such a short amount of time! Orchestras for games, some more noticeably than others, have gotten so much bigger than they were even a decade ago, even more so from a couple decades ago in the Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox era!
I hope you get to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 more since it really is that good. Although it may be goofy sometimes it really is enjoyable in my honest opinion
As someone who's more a fan of the Xenoblade 1 OST over the Xenoblade 2 OSt, will be interesting to see how he reacts to the Patreon request I did for Engage the Enemy
Some scenes that come with this music broke my heart ❤️ Please return to your game soon before xenoblade 3 comes out this summer, this game is soooooooo awesome. I suggest though you restart you xenoblade journey with definitive edition, then 2, then torna golden country and lastly 3 when it comes out this summer :) Wish I had better musical education to understand what makes awesome music "actually" work on people's mind ❤️
Would love to hear your reaction on Daughter of the dark god from Octopath Traveler, same for Eyes That Gaze into the Nexus from Bravely Default 2! Both have great opera singing
I'd say that Xenoblade Chronicles 1 has the best video game soundtrack of all time, and the live orchestration in the Definitive Edition pushes it to even higher heights. I still find it hard to beleive that the original didn't use a live orchestra.
To me the decision is the music who follow jin arc (exept the chapter 10 beginning). Spolier base game + torna In torna it's a decision from Lora. It's the beginning of the delilusion because if he didn't listen lora maybe she would be alive. The first Time we hear it is in chapter 5 when jin kill Haze/fan. It's symblolic of his rage and desire of revange. Then in chapter 6 it's again a desillusion but about Rex who isn't the innocent child he think. Finaly in chapter 8 it's when Amalthus showed up in his blade eater form but this time Jin has a good reason for fighting. For the Zohar cutsceen I don't know. The music fit perfecly with the mouvement on screen but I don't know. Maybe all this is more Klaus arc who learn to accept the world by following jin life.
Hey man! I'm sure you've got a million requests already, but I think it'd be awesome if you checked out "Thoughts Enshrined" from Xenoblade Chronicles 1. I'm sure you've heard it many times before, but still I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as a piece, since I think it's incredible. No opera in it really though and I know that's what you focus on haha.
You should react to Elibras dauaghter of the cosmos from the bloodborne soundtrack! It is one of my favorite boss themes from it and fits extremely well with the context of fighting and killing a lovecraftian god creature
Two song suggestions from me, although I know it's not on Patreon. Holy Saint, Holy Spirit from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II and Over Ten Millions of Nights from ToCS IV. This franchise is by far my favorite piece of gaming, writing AND music product all in one. Currently over 1000 hours worth of stories and still going in the same universe, 11 games released, 12th on the way! All one continuity. I really wish more people would be exposed to the simply astounding art that is this franchise. The first track is almost exclusively a slower opera performance and it is simply enchanting whilst the second one takes place during a stage play with many more supporting instruments in a more dynamic manner, opera still prevalent. I highly suggest both of them, the second one being my favorite piece from that particular game. Although they both draw from other tracks, it is not necessary to know them in order to enjoy the music regardless. P.S. I'll add the drawn tracks for the perfect experience regardless, in case you'd like to check them out. The first one heavily draws from Castle of the Saint from ToCS I whereas the second one takes from Zero no Kiseki from the game of the same name.
Was mentioned in another comment but Shadows of The Lowland (also from 2) was sung by irish choir Anúna and it’s absolutely incredible!

You are listening to Xenoblade songs?? Thank you!!! Xenoblade OST is GREAT, can't wait for 3 which is coming out this summer!!!
I'm here to recommend drifting soul from xenoblade 2.
Edit: wow your channel is picking up subscribers quickly, great to see.
Same. Can't recommend it enough, it's just so damn good. And the ending is ear pron.
Ridículous, it's perfectly safe!
His expressions are so comical I love it!!
this song hurts it always plays at the saddest parts
Mor ardain is my favorite of all the overworld themes, but I really like tantal and it's my favorite snow level song
This guy, I swear, he has a super power to predict events in games based solely in the music he hears out of context.
How about noctilum from Xenoblade X or mechonis field from Xenoblade as they both seem to have a slow but strong build up in the music?
"Ridiculous! It's perfectly safe!"
Another great opera like song is Bionis Awakening from Xenoblade 1, it has a similar vibe and story importance, one of my favorites, if you like this one you will love that as well.
"Let's begin the experiment!"
PLAY THE XENOBLADE GAMES. 1, THEN 2, THEN TORNA, THEN FUTURE CONNECTED, THEN 3. YOU'LL LOVE IT!
How?!?! I don’t have a wii!
@@MarcoMeatball THEY'RE ALL FOR THE NINTENDO SWITCH!
@@MarcoMeatball Ya gonna play em? Ya gonna play em?
Did you the drum going like a heartbeat until all went quiet?
This is cutscene-music
You've earned a sub
Let’s begin the experiment
I LOVE THIS GAME
Would love to see you listen to Guar Plain from Xenoblade Chronicles 1 absolutely great piece of music
After XC2 I played Octopath Traveler... another title with great OSTs
Agreed!
Yes, it's absolutely awesome.
I would recommend playing Xenoblade 1 before continuing with 2 ^^ The DE is amazing.
Some scenes that come with this music broke my heart ❤️
Please return to your game soon before xenoblade 3 comes out this summer, this game is soooooooo awesome. I suggest though you restart you xenoblade journey with definitive edition, then 2, then torna golden country and lastly 3 when it comes out this summer :)
Wish I had better musical education to understand what makes awesome music "actually" work on people's mind ❤️
Is definitive edition on switch?
Have you played the first Xenoblade?
You should definitely finish up Xenoblade 2 and play Xenoblade 1. Cause Xenoblade 3 is coming out in July!
1st vid I've seen. Would love to see Libera Me From Hell from Gurren Lagann if it hasn't been done yet.
xc2 has probably one of my best OST ever
Would love to hear your reaction on Daughter of the dark god from Octopath Traveler, same for Eyes That Gaze into the Nexus from Bravely Default 2!
Both have great opera singing
I'd say that Xenoblade Chronicles 1 has the best video game soundtrack of all time, and the live orchestration in the Definitive Edition pushes it to even higher heights. I still find it hard to beleive that the original didn't use a live orchestra.
PLEASE listen to Engage the Enemy from Xenoblade 1!
It’s coming
To me the decision is the music who follow jin arc (exept the chapter 10 beginning).
Spolier base game + torna
In torna it's a decision from Lora.
Xenoblade games have awesome soundtracks, I would recommend you to listen to Zanza the devine from the first Xenoblade game next.
May I suggest you to react to “The Tomorrow With You” from the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 OST, it’s one of the best in the game in my honest opinion.
Might I suggest Elsyium in the dream from xc2, or any of the elysium songs from 2.
I read the suggestions even if they’re not on patreon btw :)
Thank you very much!
