One song from this game’s OST you should definitely react to is Words That Never Reached You. In my opinion, it’s one of if not the best songs in the entire game.
This was such a treat to listen to. Xenoblade 3 is a game of the year contender for me so I loved this & hope you’ll do more of these. Other games as well btw, it’s fun seeing you break these down!
Something fun about Weight of Life is that if you play it's equivalent tracks from the first two games (Engage the Enemy, and Counterattack) in order, you get some cool musical story telling that encapsulates the story of each game and their relation to each other.
Part Two: ruclips.net/video/CKO_SHGkv3c/видео.html . Also, a note about me knuckleheadedly calling the composer "he", despite the fact that the composing team is bigger than Mitsuda and is comprised of both men and women: I didn't mean disrespect to anyone and tried to do better in the second video. A little explanation into my frame of mind for this video: this was a new format for me so I was a little nervous and worried about a million things. Did the audio work without artefacts this time? Are the volumes balanced out? Is everything lit sort of properly? Am I giving the chat enough attention? Is there enough to say about this track? Etc.. I defaulted to the Dutch way of using "him" in a broader sense (in Dutch you can use "'m" for just about anything, including bread, CDs and pieces of music, and I subconsciously translated this into English - yes, speaking in English also costs me a lot of brain time), but should've been more neutral. For the record: the composers are Yasunori Mitsuda, ACE, Kenji Hiramatsu, Manami Kiyota and Mariam Abounnasr. Thanks for watching! =D ---- Bonus Dutch examples of using "him" neutrally that I shouldn't translate verbatim to English next time oh my god I'm so Dutch: "Heb je het brood al in de vriezer gestopt?" "Ja, hij zit erin" "Hoe was je livestream?" "Hij was gezellig!" "Is de fietsband al geplakt?" "Ik heb 'm al drie keer geprobeerd te repareren maar hij blijft lek gaan!" "Wat een tof muziekstuk." "Jazeker, ik vind 'm vooral zo lekker cheesy met die discodrums!"
59:20 That is such an incredible thing to get from that sus chord since the last time this theme plays is on the ending and it actually lets it open to interpretation what ends up happening to the party, which is one of the themes of the story, to carry on even if you don't know what will happen or how things will turn out. Beautiful.

I did not expect to see a Xenoblade analysis here, but I'm all for it! I really liked this idea, and if you also did, I would recommend the other Xenoblade games' OSTs, they are so good as well. (Also I can't believe nobody told you about "You will Know our Names-Finale", it's a staple of the series at this point 😂)

Enjoyed your Xenoblade stream and hope to see more as there is over 30 hours of tracks to listen to from 4 games. Some of my favorite tracks from Xenoblade Definitive Edition are the Main theme, Engage the Enemy and beyond the Sky, the first game has so many tracks to recommend
Great video! I just want to point out that Xenoblade 3 has 4 or 5 different composers, so not every song is composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. The other composers are Kenji Hiramatsu, Manami Kiyota, and ACE (CHiCO and Tomori Kudo). They all worked on Xenoblade 2 and 1's soundtrack as well.
I still come back to this to hear that 10 seconds of harmony over A Life Sent On at 56:00. Absolutely beautiful, it makes me wish it was part of the track
I love Xenoblade and I love seeing music composers' reactions to the music equally as much. I highly recommend this game (and the first) for anyone even a little bit interested, they are absolute masterpieces imo. The games have real-time fighting which I like, of course you'll have to see for yourself if you're into it. But yeah you earned my sub!

A really cool piece of musical storytelling: the moebius theme in general seems to be all of the moebius (shown as the audience in a theater in the game) singing in the choir. What is really in character for them is looking down on everyone else. The theme has a certain part where it seems the choir is laughing kinda mocking the player. The second moebius theme when the fight gets more serious lacks this laughing part entirely.
Also, I might be completely imagining it, but it feels like the Climax version has a lot more parts with no choir, just the melody and guitar. It almost feels like the Moebius are on their last rope, not so confident anymore
Glad I found this video I really enjoyed your reactions and recreations of the music! Looking forward to watching your other vods too in this series :)
Not sure if it was mentioned, but Moebius is the main antagonistic faction in 3’s story-and this they show up pretty often. Yet the Moebius boss theme is entirely fitting every time and it’s great.

If you ever check out Xenoblade 2's soundtrack, I'd recommend occasionally just ignoring chat and picking a track that sounds interesting to you. That entire soundtrack is fantastic, and relying solely on the iconic tracks people suggest will lead you to miss out on so many other amazing pieces. For anyone that's never looked up the soundtrack before, check out "A Ship in a Stormy Sea" because it plays once in chapter 1 and I feel like most players haven't even heard the full song. It'll give you a good idea of what kinds of great songs you're missing when you see a song name you're unfamiliar with.
I haven't finished this segment yet so if someone pointed this out in chat, my bad, but: "A Life Sent On" is a combination of the two most major leitmotifs of the game, those being the themes for the two main characters, Noah and Mio. Both of them are "Off-Seers"-who help the souls of fallen soldiers pass on through flute playing. Both of their leitmotifs were written with the intention of being able to harmonize, which is what this track is.
Thanks Fryman, I don't have perfect pitch but can recognise certain notes and chords from musical memory. Knowing musical conventions - in particular of Japanese game music - takes me the rest of the way =) .
The xenoblade series is a monolith when it comes to JRPGs music. It has always been consistantly good across all the xeno games (Xenogears, Xenosaga I, II, III and Xenoblade 1, X, 2 and finally 3). And those soundtracks are all HUGE. I mean XC3 has *262* musics (counting every alternate versions), XC2 119 on the main game and about 15 in the DLC and they're all so consistently good ! This game also has insanely well placed and on point fan service with its musics with for example the "You will know our names" that is used in XC1, the "You will recall our names" in XC2 and "You will know our names - finale " in XC3 and some songs that are remastered in XC3 (like those two : "ruclips.net/video/l7Y00MEXjEs/видео.html" that is reference to a very impactfull cutscene theme in XC2 : "ruclips.net/video/cvTb1VgABw8/видео.html" and this one "ruclips.net/video/wwIMS20A0jM/видео.html" that refers to "ruclips.net/video/gdqGq0rZ5LU/видео.html" Also, have to give huge ups to the quality of this vid. You should do some Kingdom Hearts songs! Dearly Beloved, The Other Promise, Sacred Distance and Vector to The Heavens might be some great picks since they have some good piano parts.
Mannnnn kinda disappointed you didn't do "A Formidable Enemy". Imo that is note for note the best track in the game Still really cool seeing the reactions of someone well versed in music tho lol
I find it a little weird 10 minutes into it how it seems he's just referring to "him", in regards to the style of the music, as in Mitsuda (bc he never mentioned any of the others' names), even though this style in the Chain Attack music, the very recognizable Xenoblade style, was an established thing way before Mitsuda ever solidly joined the team- bc like, in XB1 Mitsuda only composed Beyond the Sky, but this style and sound that the series has was a thing since the beginning 12 years ago; its very Hiramatsu. ACE+, Kiyota, and Hiramatsu's work make up for more of the overall sound of the XB series than Mitsuda's contribution does. And yeah, Chain Attack (as I guessed; I looked it up again to confirm my memory, just in case) is only composed by Kenji Hiramatsu. A ton of tracks are just Hiramatsu; especially a bunch of the battle songs. Mitsuda commanded more of the overall sound of, of course, Xenogears and Xenosaga, but Xenoblade has been primarily the sound of Kenji, ACE+, and Kiyota, with Mitsuda jumping in during 2 and 3 to add his flare to the OST, especially the most emotionally moving tracks (bc thats what he does best)
Yeah, this is a new format for me so I was thinking about a million other things :P. Did the audio work without artifacts this time? Is everything lit sort of properly? Am I giving the chat enough attention? Is there enough to say about this track? Etc.. I defaulted to the Dutch way of using "him" in a broader sense, but should've been more neutral. Didn't mean disrespect to anyone - I hope I did better in the second video.
@@demantim ah, okay. No, you're fine, I just kinda felt it strange that Mitsuda was the only one mentioned at that point. What soundtrack? Sorry, but BotW almost had no music. Sure, the ones it had were good - but overall it was disappointing - at least for me (loving the series for 34 years now).
@@Midna78 it takes a while to actually learn to appreciate what they were going for if you’re just expecting typical Zelda tunes. Which are still there sometimes, but it’s a lot of super atmospheric music that helps with immersion rather than getting you to bop your head to it
@@Midna78 Botw’s ost is amazing, the amount of detail and love poured into such a subtle soundtrack is amazing, and even then more than half the songs really hit.
Just a small thing worth pointing out that you should probably stop defaulting to saying "he" when referring to the composer if you don't know them since Xenoblade's team has three women on it (Manami Kiyota, CHiCO from ACE and Mariam Abounnasr). The biggest example of that here is how the Menu theme is composed by Manami Kiyota, she is one of Xenoblade's main composers responsible for a lot of the area theme vibes in the series, just letting you know!
Hats off to how you can just hear the song for the first time and join in in seconds. Talent.

(i still have yet to finish the video)
I hope my initial comment didnt come off as rude, though. (Apparently I have a tendency of writing in a way- just how I form sentences or something, that comes off as rude sometimes. not my intention)
No worries, you're completely right 👍. Just wanted to clarify as it's the kind of thing I'd usually pay more attention to, but fell short this time.
I'm really hoping you do some covers, favorite soundtrack of all time, well after botw.
It would be awesome if you react to xenoblade 1/2/torna soundtracks as well!
+1 sub
Is gonna happen, but X3 part II first!
Good one, tried correcting this in the second video!
Wait, that's Scars of Time...
Congratulations! =D It's a Mitsuda fave of mine.
I highly recommend reaction genshin concert 2022 official
I've heard some pretty amazing music from Genshin Impact...!
as a person slightly obsessed with the second soundtrack and all its renditions by @familyjules or gabocorina this is great!
