Some extra context for Con Lentitude Ponderosa: it is not only a reference to Chopin, but also to the final act piece from Risk of Rain 1, Coalescence. The final boss of the first game was Providence, the leader and protector of all the monsters; a more chaotic, sympathetic being. The boss this time is his brother Mithrix, the architect and master of the constructs; a more cold, judgemental being. The difference between the two, as well as the tragedy of their story, is reflected in the music.

Interesting fact about ...con letitude: it actually uses the motif of a song from the first game called Coalescence, both songs also play on the final stages of their respective games, which are also both strangely melancholic places compared to the rest of the games settings(the first game being on the remains of the ship your character was brought to the planet on, now only inhabited by enemies, with the original crew either dead or stranded on the planet below. While the second game takes place on a desolate moon orbiting the planet, in the ruins of an ancient civilization, which now act as a prison for a powerful creature, who is also the last thing standing between you and escape.)

God. The way you picked up on and mentioned about the final song being a reveal, a change or introduction of a character, and I think that's so perfectly fitting to the way the song was initially presented in the game. On release, the stage that the song played on was very different to the one that exists now, and it feels so much to me like this song was written for that first initial stage.
The way the stage is laid out, is that you walk out of a long corridor where you can't see much of anything, up a large staircase and then past crumpled over pillars with just a glimpse of the outside. You know from the teleporter before being "aligned with the moon" and seeing the shattered moon in the sky on the previous stage, that something happened here, but as the song first brings in the acoustic sounds, you step outside and get to see the moon, fractured in pieces held together by tendrils of light, beneath you a bridge, impossibly tall and longer than anything else you've seen in the game up to that point, with barely an enemy to be seen.
As you walk along it, the towering figure of some kind of structure begins to loom more and more over you, and as you finally walk up to it, see a sword almost identical to the one wielded by the final boss of the previous game, the tragedy of what became of them and what happened here, the music finally drops and you slowly float up further away from the ground to look into a giant arena.
It so perfectly captures the exact feelings it needs to. Reading the lore entries and whatnot give you more details into what tragedy indeed took place, but just seeing the moon itself shattered into pieces, walking up to the last thing still standing there as the music keeps pace, with nothing else to really challenge you as you just march to that end, it just so perfectly gets across that feeling and works together with the music.
It was changed eventually later, to be more game-y. Enemies became more of a threat and you had to charge beacons to get up to the fight and whatnot. The map was changed to be more filled out and not as long of a trek. But I'll never forget hearing the song for the first time and making that march to the end of something that had long since ended.

Honestly if you like the music this much, I dont think anyone would be adverse to the idea of you doing a full OST reaction. All the songs are so wonderfully created that I listen through the entire soundtrack over and over all the time. Chris Christodoulou not only singlehandedly composed and played all of the guitar, keyboard/piano, drums, and synth in all the songs, but also mixed it all as well. If you were to only listen to a few more songs though, I would personally recommend you pick from Terra Pluviam, Koppen As F*ck, Hydrophobia, Antarctic Oscillation, and You're Gonna Need A Bigger Ukulele if you want some more of the rock side of the soundtrack. Some of the more chill songs like Thermodynamic Equilibrium, Evapotranspiration, Disdrometer, and Parjanya would be good picks if you want less of the rock and more synth. But literally every single song from the games is phenomenal. Even Petrichor V, which is just an ambience white noise track for when you beat the game is great. You absolutely have to listen to more of this game

I think one of my favourite parts about 23:53 is that it hits at a point in the level where you move from a more sheltered, quiet, cold entrypoint on the stage, with no enemies, and finally emerge to see the rest of the level, which features huge grand structure where you will eventually face off against the final boss. It's timed pretty well in that regard, and it feels so amazing every time.

To me, “The Rain Formerly” being groovy and more bouncy always seemed to fit perfectly in the stage it’s in, because it sort of symbolizes the stage that a player would start to feel like they’re finally in their “groove” with the run. They have items synergies, they have good stats, they’ve got an idea of what to do now.

I find this touch to be really nice, as it gives the player realisation that there is no teleporter here. no way to escape through any other way. the only way out is by taking Mithrix down; and i love that.

If I had to be honest about why I love specifically “the rain formerly known as purple” it’s because it was the turning point of the soundtrack for me. I played through the game and really enjoyed the music, but when I got to the level with this track it just kind of quietly started and I ran through the level fighting guys and basically ignoring it. It’s basically asking you to forget about it so it can sit in the back of your head, and when you finally notice the music again you don’t even realize you’ve been moving to the beat for several minutes now, and it just hits you like a bag of bricks with how groovy it is. After hearing the whole track through I was able to listen back to the rest of the soundtrack feeling more in tune with the music then when I started.

One thing i have to REALLY elaborate is the scenery we get with con lentitud poderosa. After fighting hoards of monsters on 5 different stages you finally get to the last stage, you appear in an insanely huge room with a slope in front of you going upwards, once you reach the end of the slope you go through a long tunnel with some broken down pillars and ruin-like structures on the walls, but otherwise empty.
Then when you finally get to the end of that tunnel, you are hit by the full view of the very bright and white moon in front of you, contrasting the dark and wet area you just left, hitting you with the electric guitar.

When you said that the start of con lentitud poderosa was like astronauts playing in spaces was perfect. In the game, you find out that Mithrix and the previous game's last boss, Providence were brothers. Not only that but they had a connection, with one of the item's description saying "Two brothers, chasing glass frogs in the sun.", but in the end they had conflicting ideologies. Providence, obsessed with life and soul, and Mithrix, obsessed with power and practicality, which ended with Providence imprisoning Mithrix in the moon.
