Not so rare footage of Arlo talking about Xenoblade. Side note: X was going to have a very involved story at first, but a lot of it was cut. With Definitive Edition, I could see them expanding on the story and adding some of that cut content back, but we don’t know yet.
Most of the story was not just cut but entirely removed to accomodate the silent protag online thing. I don't expect TOO much new stuff from this, but at the very least a more fulfilling epilogue, sequel hook and Future Redeemed retcon.
@@WhatTheAlvaI really WANTED to love this game. I bought it upon release and to this day I have yet to beat it. It’s just too different from the others for me

@@alexh7513 play any game in any order you want since XC1-3 is stand alone with it being only connected in the end except for future redeemed having a requirement of XC 1 and 2. X is a separate series and a different forcus. Best to play in order but playing 1-3 in any order isn't an issue. If you want something shorter and cheaper try to find a Xenoblade 2:Torna cartridge since that dlc is stand alone.

Yeah. They seemed to have replaced BioWare/Bethesda as the go to for RPGs. They make JRPGs, but they aren’t typical JRPGs. A lot of WRPG influence in their design and gameplay. I believe the studio head said he wanted to compete with Bethesda in that realm. I could be wrong. They have more of a focus of story as well, but kudos to them for producing single player RPG at a consistent rate. Yes I understand two games are remakes…still. They have provided tons of single player RPG goodness on one consoles.
Mario Fans: Waiting for Mario Kart 9 over 10 years and new 3d mario game 8 years. Zelda Fans: Completely divided right in the middle. Pokemon Fans: Their dev doesn't know how to make a video game. At this point they will be happy if game functions. Metroid Fans: Always near the edge. "Is this gonna sell?", "Is this gonna be the last game in the series"

@@hododod246 saying Mario fans aren't spoiled is a bit disingenous. Even if they didn't get a new Mario Kart, MK8 got a large DLC pass out of nowhere, and they got SMBWonder just recently, and their RPGs are seeing a revival; the series sees a lot of content every year, even if not necessarily mainline.
Feels gooooood to be a Xenoblade fan. That's the thing, Arlo; you can join us at any time! You can become a Xenoblade fan and celebrate with us! You should play X, it's probably the greatest open world of any game ever made. Not exaggerating
Way better world than BotW and TotK got. This was Monolithsoft at their best, and the way you run through the world just feels great. It's insanely good. Maybe BotW's Hyrule would compare if it had similar traversal mechanics, but even with the hard cutoff biomes they did for this game, it somehow is just the best open world design. It's truly miraculous work. Even did sky islands better than TotK 8 years earlier. Such peak
@@ChronoflationI love that the hard cutoff biomes make you appreciate the flight even more because of the fact that the cutoff no longer exists once you unlock flight.
judging from the trailer, the new story content seems to be following up on the cliffhanger ending the original had & all the loose threads that were clearly left for a sequel
At this point Nintendo probably just checks if Monolith is making money, gets them to help on other projects and leaves them to do whatever they want. But still, it is really insane that this comparatively small franchise (that I absolutely adore to death and is THIS close to surpassing Zelda as my favourite) gets this kind of treatment. Like, all of the Xenoblade games combined haven't sold 10 million copies.
Yeah but Miyamoto said in the past that a normal game has to sell 2 million copies to make money. Xenoblade achieves this easily. Man, they may even cost less to produce than a big Zelda title and such.
@@pinguman13 Easily? I don't know. Xenoblade 2 did sell over two million, so it's true for that. But the definitive edition of 1 sold a little less than two million, so unless we're including earlier sales it didn't hit that mark. Same with 3, it's below two million, last we heard, although it was pretty close too. And obviously X didn't even get a million on Wii U. But I will agree that Xenoblade games are definitely cheaper than a big Zelda, by quite a lot probably. And the marketing budget for Xenoblade games is likely to be negligible compared to other Nintendo franchises. So they most likely don't need to get to two million anyway and are making good enough profit at their current scale.
So, this is exciting on multiple levels. It seems we're getting a full redub of the audio, the actors seem to be the same for the characters we hear at the beginning, but it definitely sounds like a new read of their lines. The scene at the end is directly from the cliffhanger at the end of the game and shows more than we saw then, so it's highly probable that we're getting follow up on that cliffhanger. We don't know the depth at what that'll be, but it's possible that details they add into this will become relevant for the next "New" Xenoblade title. Also, on the topic of "Xeno fans getting everything they want" is funny, because this series for YEARS was getting shafted at every available opportunity. It really goes to show that perservering through getting what you want ripped away from you again and again will reward itself eventually. Xenogears happened and got stripped for budget for FF Spirits Within. Xenosaga happened and got axed after 3 games. Finally Xenoblade comes out and doesn't come out in America until we start a petition, and then *finally* the series finally starts building the steam it deserves.
Only reason we xeno fans get what we want is because we have a team that is extremely dedicated to this franchise and each game has been selling better than the last. Although, xenoblade does not get anywhere near mario and zelda sales. It has been growing and the fanbase has been growing too. Hope this franchise gets more mainstream support
Just remember that Monolith not only worked on the 4 huge and massive games that is the Xenoblade series, they also worked on both openworlds Zelda games, on both Splatoons for Switch and on Animal Crossing. They are a big part of the Switch success. Yes, these games would exist without them, but probably not in the state they. Sure, the game they 100% make aren't popular. 2M copies isn't much for a Switch game. But I understand why Nintendo just let them do whatever they want, they're really what every company should be : passionate people loving to make good games.
@@LoliconSamalik I hope that maybe one day they will bring Day of Crisis over too! It took a while for the 4th Disaster game to come over as well but since Nintendo is releasing older games I got a bit of hope.
I beat Xenoblade X on my wii u last year and I'm so stoked for this. Pre-ordering as soon as it goes up. Xenoblade X is not a perfect game but it's something people should experience. Especially when you get to the skells.
@@alexanderwhite4821 I said it's not perfect. I prefer the other xenoblade games due to their heavy story and less mmo style gameplay. That doesn't mean this game is bad. Some people prefer X. I enjoyed X just not as much as the other games. In the future, don't try to put words in people's mouth.
i sold my wii u to get a pc and had to experience the game on emulator 3 years ago and i couldnt get the online rewards and experience, plus it was kinda buggy. now im going to enjoy this game sooooo hard
The notification from Nintendo UK popped up while I was at my desk and I nearly shouted out loud in excitement after coming close to throwing my phone. I’d given up hope that we’d ever get this. For me personally, this couldn’t be a better game to send off the Switch.
An addendum to the new content in Xenoblade Chronicles DE: We learned through more interviews from Tetsuya Takahashi that the Bionis Shoulder (content added in the XBC Remaster on Switch) is technically a cut area in the game, but we recently learned that it also was primarily built as a test map. Based on his new information, I assume that Monolith Soft never intended to make the Bionis Shoulder a playable area initially due to primarily being used as a test map during early development. However, I think their minds were changed after fan speculation, theories, and lost content archives were made. Still an awesome addition to the remaster, but new knowledge seems to imply it was never planned to be in the final release on Wii as a playable area.
@ValToadstool Used on some in-game Cutscenes was really the only player-visble use for it in the original Wii release. The player still never gets to visit it, so under the context of player interaction it was unused.
Xeno X has such a bangin' soundtrack. People who clown with Black Tar and NLA are justified, but i just love the cheese and Limp Bizkit attitude of them. But not only them but Noctilum, Skell themes and many many other tracks are fantastic. Sawano cooked hard and even he admitted he used the games ost as inspiration for his future compositions
@@alexanderwhite4821 Most of us don’t like those particular tracks at first either, but after 20 hours, they stop bothering you. After 40 hours, you will be jamming out to them
For anyone that didn't play X on the Wii u (most people) The original game ended on a cliffhanger, and not just a small "Oh what happened to this person in the end" or something that can easily be explained by a few new cutscenes, it was something so massive that they need to either set up a sequel or make an expansion on the same level as the ones 3 and 2 got to properly develop it in this remaster
I'm a bit worried this means the nail in the coffin for a chance at a sequel, but with some luck they just give us even more material to build a sequel for.
As someone who usually likes JRPGs and has only played this one game from the franchise: you don't miss much. The story and characters, which are important for me in games, were meh to bad. Exploration was also bad because each place within a region looked the same and you can't have access to the map along with some other things like fast travel if you play with a pro controller. The only thing that was a little pleasurable was the combat system that in some way felt satisfying. And speaking of it, by the way, because the level of the enemies is fixed, finding a grinding spot was always tedious with how they are placed.
As someone why usually likes JRPGs, disregard above comment. The story and characters are fine, it's true it's not as impactful as the other Xenoblade Titles stories but as long as you're aware of that it's more then servicable, arguably even good. Exploration is some of the best in any Open World game ever, period. The opposite take is what made me completely denounce any and all opinion from above comment, it's borderline an insane take (you have access to everything, but it's stilly highly recommended to use touch functions, still it will definitely be better optimized for regular menuing above the original title). And then bro actually complained that the difficulty wasn't dynamic, the single worst and damning mechanic in any RPG ever. Why even bother investing in your character if everything is always of equal difficulty. Absolutely wild. P.s. You'll never need to find a "grinding spot" unless you're trying to get a specific material from a specific monster, but that honestly won't be too often. Just do any reasonable amount of the sidequests as you progress and you'll probably end up with a near perfectly balanced difficulty experience.
I was around your age, but I got X, and I was just astounded. Never played a game like this. Really changed my perspective on the games I played at that time.
theres a few moments in this game that were truly jawdropping on the Wii U. "the rains clearing up, youre gonna love this" and the fly-by camera all over Primordia. or entering NLA, here in the remastered trailer. beautiful. the first time you make the journey to Sylvalum. maybe you get there in the day, and the music is quiet and haunting. everything is white and distant, and you watch it light up and move as night falls. the sky glows pink with a crimson aurora as all the giant spore bulbs shimmer in the air, and the melody kicks in, its so good. a lot of companies wish their best game was even half as good as monolithsofts weakest stuff, this game is absolutely incredible.
I love XC but I couldn't get into X. I tried and it's the only xc game I haven't played. I just couldn't get past the silent protagonist in RPG. I hate silent protagonists, their rarely ever done well. Even when it's OK, I don't enjoy the silent protagonist...it's just more forgiving. FE three houses was OK. Zelda is done horribly but it's forgiving cause it's not story heavy.
There is truly no better time for Xenoblade fans than now. This train does not seem to slow down. We got banger content and announcements for every year since 2017. I implore everyone to hop on.

I think it's the funniest thing ever - Xeno fans have been asking for a Switch version of this game since the Switch was first announced, and Nintendo is finally giving it to us... Right at the very end of the Switch life cycle. It's almost like a punch line.
Wow, that quote really got exaggerated. I always remembered that an interview said it wasn't likely because of the cost to risk. Wild to hear that people were taking that as "impossible". My initial reaction was.. well, doubting the trailer was real, then gasping in disbelief that it was on the official Nintendo channel. Then while watching the trailer, despite not having played the game on Wii U, getting a little teary eyed because I was so happy to see that Monolith Soft is apparently doing well enough now, and have the confidence (in sales) to make this a reality.
Xenoblade X is a very, veeeeery different beast from the other Xenoblade titles. Like Arlo mentioned, it IS lighter on the story (still a good story with some great characters, just not the powerhouse of emotion the others have) and to compensate, it has an absolutely absurd amount of content, even by Xenoblade's standards. While I'm sure DE will address some of this, it can be very, veeeeery grindy at times. If you aren't taking on a decent amount of side content, the main story bosses will absolutely wreck your shit. One of the most infamous facts about this game is how you don't even get the ever-advertised mech/Skell until about 30 hours into the game, with flight coming at an even later point. But OHHHHH MAN when you can get into X, you can really, really get into it. So much customization, side stories, places to see, hard bosses to challenge, it is immensely satisfying. Pretty sure I've put more hours into it than any of the other games in the series, and I still absolutely haven't seen everything. I give it a very cautious but enthusiastic recommendation. If you think you'll like it, you might like it.
Yep like I'm hoping the Skell is made available earlier (It's okay to hold off the Flight Module where you get it to avoid opening up TOO much of the world early) bring in XB2 & 3 Party EXP system which will be GREAT for when you have characters you haven't used in a while but are now forced to use so you can get them to catch up to you sooner, REALLY get the ONLINE mechanics which I had a HUGE love/hate with in the original under control or cut it out entirely (I had to bloody cut off ONLINE on my WiiU just to not get messed around by it) and of course add in MUCH of that cut content. And yeah I agree with yah, once you get to the Meat of things is when things get good (Seriously why is this a THING in a Xenoblade game LOL or the Xeno Series in general, that you have to get a few hours in for it to REALLY get good! I don't mind I'm use to it and have a good tolerance before I drop things, but I've noticed a Trend, XB3 at least TRIED to drop you in SOONER, but still the same in a way! Oh well I'm so use to it that, Hopefully Lin's "food jokes" at the "potato with glasses" will be toned back abit, I'm okay with them, just not so much in the OG that it felt like it was a ANNOYING Character Trait! I loved her when she WASN"T always threatening him) I'm happy I kept my old Guides I made while playing the OG! Now I want to see what's changed, and what's stayed the same (Again PLEASE let the Skells get unlocked SOONER! The Flight Module made sense as a later addition, but the Skell being available SO FAR in where you get it was just a head shaker, and hopefully it's less TEDIOUS to complete the quest to get it!) EDIT While looking through my old notes, I don GOOFED, you get hte Skell in Chapter 6, not 9! I confused the FLIGHT MODULE acquiring as where I THOUGHT you get the Skell! I feel OLD realizing I made that mistakes LOL. Maybe they make it less dragonic to complete the quest to get it at least (I remember out of some of the objectives , some were annoying and maybe it be best to ease on a few of them! Still keep the point was EARNING the trust of the Divisions to get the trust but I do feel it was annoying with a few of them
@@paulman34340 Nah, part of why Skells were so goddamn satisfying is _because_ it took so stupidly long and you had gone to so many places on foot, jumping and climbing and doing stuff to get around hard enemies, but now you get a goddamn mech motorcycle that makes everything ten times faster, and it really felt earned, i was _ecstatic_ when I got my first one. I realize this might be an unpopular opinion, but it's not for no reason they wait so long to give it to you. + having it just makes the gigantic world feel quite a bit smaller, which isn't a good value proposition for them.
@@crazykim Yeah which is why I prefer it at a GOOD spot SOONER, not Chapter 9 (Though if they keep it there, well I'm not crying, I'll just shrug and slog my way back to that spot LOL) The Flight Module can remain where it is (Thing is even if you can REACH alot of locations with the Skell alone, you REALLY don't start SUPER EXPLORING till the Flight Module comes into play! So your still restrained! I'll tell you I was BLIND while playing this back in the WIIU era, didn't get a Laptop and had to rely on one hour a day Internet at the library for my info! So it was when I REACHED Chapter 9 that someone FINALLY put up HOW to get the Skells! Too little too late for me! I was happy to have them but I really do feel it took TOO fucking long to pop up! Hence why I feel they should be SOONER, not right at the early game, that part I'm okay with since you NEED to get your feet wet before swimming, but the start of mid-game WOULD be nice rather then at the LATER part of mid-game! Hell the END of the end-game would be a good spot!)
As someone who’s two favorite series are Kirby and Xenoblade, I am too happy all the time. HAL and Monolith Soft are dedicated to making me specifically happy and I’m so glad I landed on these two series to be my favorite.
I started playing all the Xenoblade games early this year. I’ve replayed 1-3 twice and going for a third. They are truly phenomenal games and I highly recommend them. This will be a day 1 purchase for me. Absolutely no hesitation
You know what's crazy about all this? Xenoblade wasn't even going to come to the west originally. Xeno fans had to petition and BEG Nintendo to localize it for us. And now, Xeno is one of their tentpole, staple series and MonolithSoft is arguably their most talented studio. I love to see it.
Oh I remember. It was operation rainfall or something like that. For Xenoblade 1, The Last Story and Pandora's tower iirc. 3 good games. Those games did release in Europe btw, the operation was for a NA release
Glad to see my ritual goat sacrifices finally did something. I have been praying for this remaster for so long that I had lost all hope. When my friend sent me the announcement, I didn't believe it. But where is my man, L'cirufe? Where is my beautiful man?! Show him to me, Nintendo! And where's the special edition with the artbook?! >:C I'm so hyped, even if I've played this game on the Wii U at least 3 times. I just love this worldbuilding. @@venomoussocks1017 100%. He is my absolute favourite character in this game, and I was so sad they did nothing with him. I will still love him, but I want to know!
The thing with X is that its more a "What if earth was destroyed" intead of an epic fantasy scifi adventure, it takes very serious it story, and it looks like a real What if story, thats why it feels quite different and less story driven than the other 3 games, its different in many regards... but yeah PLAY IT ARLO! PLAY IT!!!
This game needed 10gb of DLC to make the textures load reasonably fast on the wii u, I don't know what crazy technical stuff monolithsoft did to make it look so good on switch. Also the Switch version download is apparently 5gb smaller than the Wii U download somehow.
And (though I know it will never happen) Star Fox Zero. Combination of the core mechanics of the game being tied to the WiiU gamepad and the mediocre critical reception (and limited sales) means it won't happen. I hope at least they'll make a new Star Fox (and dear goodness can we go back to making new stories with the franchise than remake Star Fox 1 for the fourth time?).
Craziest thing about Monolith soft is that are propably also working on 1 or 2 new titles for Switch 2, and probably doing support for other games, WHILE remastering X.
Alot of people dropped off around 3 as it wasn't anything like the first two. I think that's the series biggest issues as they deviated quite alot between X and 3. Anime girls turning into weapons of mass destruction isn't something that appeals to many but playing a storyline in an epic alien scifi magepunk setting? It's something super unique you don't get to play everyday
This is basically my favorite game ever, so I can't wait. Especially if, as some people are speculating, the playtest is actually a disguised version of expanded MMO features.
Xenoblade is one of my favorite new IPs in the last decade. For me, it fills the hole that Nintendo decided to create by not continuing the Golden Sun franchise.
The big thing to remember is that we’ve been asking for this port since the Switch’s release and since then, have gotten Torna, Xenoblade Chronicles DE, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Like Monolith gave us Xenoblade fans everything we could have wanted except X until today
I know Xenosaga fans asking for a updated remaster of the massive Xenosaga Trilogy that originally released on PS2 for Switch or Switch 2. And I think if XCX: DE does well we might if it's possible see a Xenosaga Trilogy remaster for Switch or Switch 2.
I personally think that the reason they just shadow-dropped the trailer is because they planned one of those longer gameplay showcases for an actual Direct. You know those games where they spend around 5-10 minutes talking about it and it's basically the prime game they're talking about? One of those. They did one of those showcases for Xenoblade 3's release, so I don't think it's too far-fetched to say that they could be doing one for X as well. I think they might have wanted to do one of those showcases, but didn't have enough games to make another Direct in between the last Direct and the next Direct where they would presumably place that showcase. And so, they just decided to drop the trailer as is so that people knew it was coming before that showcase. At least, that's what I think, I could be completely wrong.
I woke up to this and did a double take, I thought I was still dreaming. I’ve been waiting for this announcement since the Switch was announced in October 2016
If you're jealous of Xenoblade fans, there's a really simple solution. Play the games and become one of us. More fans = even more likelihood of them giving us even more awesome games!
Based on the final scene of the trailer, it looks like we will have some kind of conclusion to the ending. I could see them doing a short bonus content the size of Torna or Future Redeemed. And yes, Arlo is correct in regards to the story. There is not much to the main story, the real meat is in the open world and side quests.
I have been saying for years now that I really hope X comes to Switch 2 as I'm in no rush for it having played it before, and out of pretty much ANY game that could be on the system, its the one that would be able to make use of stronger hardware the most (outside of an X2 which is possible now!) It's so ambitious, so I really hope it at least gets some sort of patch or is cross-gen (but at the very least, it will at least perform better and at native resolution, not having to downscale itself like XB2 does in handheld mode)
Y'know, lemme just say... After seeing another certain Nintendo youtuber who doesn't care for Xenoblade be genuinely upset about this reveal (basically PURELY because it wasn't a Switch 2 reveal), it's very nice to see a different Nintendo youtuber who doesn't care for Xenoblade actually be so happy about this reveal on behalf of Xenoblade fans.
Genuinely got to the News section of my Switch and screamed. I am that person who has resisted getting a secondhand WiiU, holding on for 7-and-a-half years for this. What you mentioned about funds effectively being the reason to hold this game back warmed my heart, because between Monolith releasing 3 and it's DLC earlier than initially scheduled, and reporting about hiring more staff and increasing their pay, they seem to be doing really well and in good hands. Now if they only could get the rights to Gears and Saga back....
Xenoblade x is the only xenoblade game I like and it ended on a cliff hanger! I thought it was forgotten cause it was so obscure and didn’t sell all that great. I’m so happy it’s coming to switch!!

Now that they've sold almost as many switches as PS2 ever sold, even if it cost 1 million dollar to port a game, i would still be worth it. 150 million potential customer. I believe this Xmas the switch will become the most sold console ever.
It’s been so cool to watch this series thrive. Been a fan since 2015 when 3D came out. Back then it seemed unlikely we’d ever get more except for X which I promptly bought and played to no end. Really is amazing just some of the best video games I’ve ever played!
Correct me if I am incorrect but I think those initial comments came within a year of the launch of switch. So I am guessing they could of worked through the limitations.
I think this is pretty neat, this is the only Xenoblade game I have played and I remember liking it! Also that Kickstarter project looks neat, never thought I’d see a game relating to that meme, contributed to it, ty for bringing it to my attention!
X is still my favorite for its awesome sci-fi world, but all of the others are phenomenal too! 1 has the weakest combat & quests, but imo the best main plot. 2 is harder to learn, but probably has the best combat system, and also probably the best music. 3 has the best cast by far, and a darker tone like X has.
The Wii U really walked so the switch could run. The Wii U already had this amazing title already finished and packaged up and the switch gets to bask in the glory of seeing it being successful because nobody had a Wii U. I don't think the Switch would've been nearly as successful without the myriad of amazing first party titles that are equivalent to two console's worth of titles, the most popular game and a big reason many people got the switch is MK8, as well as a bunch of other top 10 games being from the Wii U, we got a console with pretty much every Nintendo franchise that a person could want, this is all whilst the competition such as Sony seems to be struggling to pump out even 1 console's worth of good games. I honestly don't think the switch successor will be as successful (no pun intended) because Nintendo will have to go from porting a super amazingly popular Wii U title during gaps in releases to either actually making a new game (there's a limit to how many they can make) or just releasing nothing which will inevitably make the console just a little less appealing each time which will compound.
Arlo you really owe it to yourself to play at least one Xenoblade game!!! I usually have very similar likes to what you seem to like and I just know you would actually like it. Xenoblade 3 was my favorite but 1 is also amazing. Please try one!!!!
Xenoblade 1 or X, depending on if he wants to go for story or gameplay. I think everyone should play these. And even if it's just barely holding interest for the first few hours, push through til you get some unlocks and upgrades to your arts and skills. These games only get more fun the longer you play and unlock more combat options
As a fan of Breath of the Wild who went BACK to play X, I think Arlo may really enjoy the discovery and “make my own storyline” elements of X versus maybe the “you’re doing the anime story with underage sword girls, enjoy!”
Gosh so much negative about xenoblade 2 Yeah I admit it's the underage boy with 500 year old girl that look like teenagers but I still think it's worth trying. At least after being aware of the flaws before so it doesn't came as a surprise.
Yeah I would never recommend playing 2 as the first game for anyone lol. But I actually haven't played X before due to the wii u being the only Nintendo console I didn't own!! I'm so excited for it to come to switch!! Edit: I don't think 2 is a bad game at all I just wouldn't recommend it as a starting point as I feel it's the weakest game
I adore Xenoblade, I honestly love the Story in X. And compared to other games not Xenoblade, it has a decently sized story. The thing others were upset about is the story not being "complete" it left off on a massive cliffhanger, basically. But oh dang to this day it is still the most beautiful world I've ever seen in a game, you feel like you're there, it doesn't feel like "oh yes, someone made this world from their minds" it feels like "oh wow, this is an actual foreign planet that has life." X is the best, but imo, all the stories tie together even if they say they don't. Each time they've said a game is a stand alone thing or doesn't tie with the previous games, it ends up being DIRECTLY involved, it fleshed out the plot for all the games. I wanna see where the tie ins come with X, we already got a few in Future Redeemed.
I can't wait to how they will blow our minds in the new epilogue of XCX, they will probably connect XCX to the main series in some way now. Then i just wish that Saga is next someday.
@@derrickhaggard yessss, very excited. It leaves many questions just on the small changes of that interaction alone. Like, is that person a friend of Laos with how he spoke with him? Why'd they change his appearance, the "dark knights". And it means he reveals who he is. I am very excited.
What's left? Xenosaga? Make Squenix play ball and let Takahashi go nuts with Xenogears? The Monolith staff will probably never leave the office if that happens. But hey. Ya gotta do what ya gotta/wanna do

I accept that it took the horniness of Xenoblade 2 fans that allowed this series to secure its footing. The same thing happened after Fire Emblem Awakening.
Not entirely. It sold well because it was on a console that was more widely available to people. And 2 just happened to come out during the Switch's launch year.
@@ZX-Gear - That‘s only true individually. If we count all releases of games together, then all versions of Xenoblade 1 have sold over 1 million more than Xenoblade 2
@jerryborjon That is not really how sales figures works especially for companies. They look at sales at an individual basis due to the resources spend on that basis for each game. EA doesn't count both versions of Dead Space 1 together to figure out sales

That's so true. The trust Nintendo has in Monolith is incredible, like I bet if they pitched to movie over Illumination they could possibly sway them
@@gyrate598 a man can dream!!! We need a XenoMovie asap!!!
@@tormentor91 that’s what I’m trying to say. At those lower budgets it’s easier for Nintendo to justify putting more and more XenContent out there
So, this is exciting on multiple levels.
So the lesson is that SF and F zero fans should petition and go fund me a game idea and send it to Nintendo of America or Nintendo of Japan.

They are a big part of the Switch success. Yes, these games would exist without them, but probably not in the state they.

An addendum to the new content in Xenoblade Chronicles DE:
We learned through more interviews from Tetsuya Takahashi that the Bionis Shoulder (content added in the XBC Remaster on Switch) is technically a cut area in the game, but we recently learned that it also was primarily built as a test map.
It technically WAS used, but only in a cutscene or two
@ValToadstool Used on some in-game Cutscenes was really the only player-visble use for it in the original Wii release. The player still never gets to visit it, so under the context of player interaction it was unused.

For anyone that didn't play X on the Wii u (most people)
The original game ended on a cliffhanger, and not just a small "Oh what happened to this person in the end" or something that can easily be explained by a few new cutscenes, it was something so massive that they need to either set up a sequel or make an expansion on the same level as the ones 3 and 2 got to properly develop it in this remaster
I'm a bit worried this means the nail in the coffin for a chance at a sequel, but with some luck they just give us even more material to build a sequel for.
As a 14 yo me, choosing Mario Tennis ultra smash over Xenoblade X was a choice I kept regretting until today
Just do any reasonable amount of the sidequests as you progress and you'll probably end up with a near perfectly balanced difficulty experience.

the first time you make the journey to Sylvalum. maybe you get there in the day, and the music is quiet and haunting. everything is white and distant, and you watch it light up and move as night falls. the sky glows pink with a crimson aurora as all the giant spore bulbs shimmer in the air, and the melody kicks in, its so good.
a lot of companies wish their best game was even half as good as monolithsofts weakest stuff, this game is absolutely incredible.
I love XC but I couldn't get into X. I tried and it's the only xc game I haven't played. I just couldn't get past the silent protagonist in RPG.

I wish this could have been in a direct, would have had way more time to build hype.
But I'm so happy right now.
I'm happy I kept my old Guides I made while playing the OG! Now I want to see what's changed, and what's stayed the same (Again PLEASE let the Skells get unlocked SOONER! The Flight Module made sense as a later addition, but the Skell being available SO FAR in where you get it was just a head shaker, and hopefully it's less TEDIOUS to complete the quest to get it!)
EDIT
While looking through my old notes, I don GOOFED, you get hte Skell in Chapter 6, not 9! I confused the FLIGHT MODULE acquiring as where I THOUGHT you get the Skell! Maybe they make it less dragonic to complete the quest to get it at least (I remember out of some of the objectives , some were annoying and maybe it be best to ease on a few of them! 5:22 Arlo expresses interest in playing an Xenoblade game
Being a Xenoblade fan is a good life. I recommend it lol
(Insert penguinz0 whoo meme here)
The thing with X is that its more a "What if earth was destroyed" intead of an epic fantasy scifi adventure, it takes very serious it story, and it looks like a real What if story, thats why it feels quite different and less story driven than the other 3 games, its different in many regards... but yeah
PLAY IT ARLO! PLAY IT!!!
Arlo loves Xenoblade let’s goooo
This game needed 10gb of DLC to make the textures load reasonably fast on the wii u, I don't know what crazy technical stuff monolithsoft did to make it look so good on switch. Also the Switch version download is apparently 5gb smaller than the Wii U download somehow.
One day Nintendo will reveal, just by posting it in X, a Mother 3 remake. Like idk... at 11pm. And that's is.
Concord calls you one last time

Sir youre on the wrong line here.😂
All we need now is Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD
Same
And (though I know it will never happen) Star Fox Zero.
And Starfox Zero with better controls.
Star Fox Zero and Yoshis Wooly World are crying in the corner
Personally I hate Zero I don't think that games controls were it's only issue but Wooly World is a good shout forgot about that 😅
Craziest thing about Monolith soft is that are propably also working on 1 or 2 new titles for Switch 2, and probably doing support for other games, WHILE remastering X.
I really wish Arlo could get into the series. Because it sounds like he admires Monolithsoft. But I get it it, it’s not for everyone.
@@meikahidenori but anime girls don't turn into weapons in 3 what are you talking about?
This is basically my favorite game ever, so I can't wait. Especially if, as some people are speculating, the playtest is actually a disguised version of expanded MMO features.
Xenoblade is one of my favorite new IPs in the last decade. For me, it fills the hole that Nintendo decided to create by not continuing the Golden Sun franchise.
Now it's a race to see if we get pikmin 5 or Xenoblade 4 first.
I'm pretty sure Xenoblade is gonna win this race.
Xenoblade fans get everything they want. Pikmin fans get a game each decade.
@@SuperPaperPokemonPikmin 4 was pretty successful, there's no way the wait for 5 will be as long
X2 is the next Xenoblade game
I’m just happy that more people will get to play Xenoblade Chronicles X
Legend Arlo. Great video. Cant wait for Xenoblade X
Two Arlo Xenoblade videos we are eating so good right now
I woke up to this and did a double take, I thought I was still dreaming. I’ve been waiting for this announcement since the Switch was announced in October 2016
If you're jealous of Xenoblade fans, there's a really simple solution. Play the games and become one of us. More fans = even more likelihood of them giving us even more awesome games!
hes asked a couple times people stop telling him to play xenoblade
Man’s already played Baten Kaitos, he does not need to be talked into monolith
@@mellow8176 Then his jealousy is stupid and unfounded. Cognitive dissonance lol
@@-lord1754 No, that just means he's not interested in these games (and I understand him, the auto-combat gameplay isn't for everyone, like at all)
Dropping this casually on a Tuesday really took me by surprise. Nintendo never changes.
I was the person checking every month for an announcement of a port for this game, I just couldn’t believe it the moment I got the notification.
Love a good Xenoblade video, but Arlo, you got to download the Concord announcement footage again
I’m so hyped for this!!! I’ve been wanting a port that’s actually supported by Nintendo for years!
Looking forward to the announcement that Xenoblade Chronicles 4 is gonna be a Switch 2 launch title
Never played this but always wanted to, so damn excited for that game!
Xenoblade x is the only xenoblade game I like and it ended on a cliff hanger! I thought it was forgotten cause it was so obscure and didn’t sell all that great. I’m so happy it’s coming to switch!!
It’s definitely getting a sequel
The 2025 Switch slate is looking surprisingly really good!
“Oh boy, Nintendo! He he, alright, let’s go!”
Yoo caught this vid quick! Im glad this game is finally out of WiiU hell, all we need is Wind Waker
Would be cool for them to retrofit it into the mainline series.
Dunkey's gonna have a field day with this one, He's finally getting that bigger gun
😂 omg I forgot about that
Right, can't wait for dunkey to complain about anime again...
@@Briskeeen I'm pretty sure it's all in good jest for the most part. I get the impression Dunkey mostly just wants to have fun and make people laugh with his videos. I mean he played a massive amount of the games 😂 I think he gets some enjoyment out of them
@@willwunsche6940 Good fun? He spoiled the ending for 3 for a bunch of people and people who were mad were called pdf files by his fans. Sorry but i dont find that very funny at all.
Dunkey is probably the funniest guy to watch videos on these games
X had a lot of story cut, and ends on a massive cliffhanger. But the world and world building from side quests are genuinely second to none
The problem was never the Switch's hardware, but the cost to port such a massive game. Perhaps now they have more faith in the brand
A direct would have soured the reception, since people are expecting the announcment of the switch 2
Its wild this was just.. shadowed dropped... The release date makes me wonder if SW2 will be backwards compatible.
Prob
The biggest problem with X’s story wasn’t that it was light it was that it ended on a cliffhanger/really unsatisfying ending.
I think this is pretty neat, this is the only Xenoblade game I have played and I remember liking it! Also that Kickstarter project looks neat, never thought I’d see a game relating to that meme, contributed to it, ty for bringing it to my attention!
Dude you need to play the entire Xenoblade series at some point man... Like srsly you missing out. Especially Xenoblade 1 & 2 stories
As for 2... uhh yeah. He can watch the cutscenes on YT for that one, maybe 2x speed while he's doing the dishes or something.
Gosh so much negative about xenoblade 2
Yeah I admit it's the underage boy with 500 year old girl that look like teenagers but I still think it's worth trying.
Xenoblade fans and xeno fans in general were in the trenches for a long time. We deserve to get everything we want
I adore Xenoblade, I honestly love the Story in X.
And compared to other games not Xenoblade, it has a decently sized story.
The thing others were upset about is the story not being "complete" it left off on a massive cliffhanger, basically.
But oh dang to this day it is still the most beautiful world I've ever seen in a game, you feel like you're there, it doesn't feel like "oh yes, someone made this world from their minds" it feels like "oh wow, this is an actual foreign planet that has life."
X is the best, but imo, all the stories tie together even if they say they don't.
Each time they've said a game is a stand alone thing or doesn't tie with the previous games, it ends up being DIRECTLY involved, it fleshed out the plot for all the games.
I wanna see where the tie ins come with X, we already got a few in Future Redeemed.
According to what's been revealed we are getting a new epilogue section set after the cliffhanger ending.
Imagine the story content is them adding a mech for your mech to pilot
They put Witcher 3 on Switch. Of course they could make this for Switch as well.
And now I hope for the N64 Game "Mischief Makers" to be added to NSO!
Xenoblade fans get all their games on a single console, 2 characters in smash, and dlc+ even more for definitive editions.
It's a great series.
And now there will be more Xenoblade characters in Smash.
What's left? Xenosaga? Make Squenix play ball and let Takahashi go nuts with Xenogears? The Monolith staff will probably never leave the office if that happens. But hey. Ya gotta do what ya gotta/wanna do
I’m excited…but hesitant about this. I absolutely LOVED XC2, and I thought XC3 was okay but I hated XC1 so I’m not sure how I’m gonna feel about X. I’m gonna buy it but if it’s anything like XC1 it’s probably gonna be a drag to finish!
the base of its combat system is the same as 1 in terms of having an art palette at the bottom but thats about as far as the similarities go, so its difficult to say whether you'll like it or not. Worth checking out tho
Having played and loved the OG Xenoblade Chronicles X for WIIU, I'm hyped for this rerelease for Switch.
I accept that it took the horniness of Xenoblade 2 fans that allowed this series to secure its footing. The same thing happened after Fire Emblem Awakening.
Meanwhile NoA confirmed that this port is based off the Western Release. The Linn changes I can live with but all else I am wary of.
Not entirely. It sold well because it was on a console that was more widely available to people. And 2 just happened to come out during the Switch's launch year.
@@FireFury190 To this day,XBC2 is still the game with the highest sales numbers.
EA doesn't count both versions of Dead Space 1 together to figure out sales
my hope for a Starfox Zero port Switch port has kinda rekindled with this
arlo talking about "xenoblade fans" like they're some exclusive club or faction
dude just play the game and that envy will be joy for yourself
The teaser of the added cut content gives me such joy.
Now we only need Wind Waker and Twilight Princess and we can forget the WiiU ever existed.
I will forever cherish Nintendo Land!
Paper Mario colour splash
Yoshi Woolly world
Kirby rainbow
Devil third
Star fox zero
Nintendo land
I have all 3 other Xenoblade games on switch and the DLCs. Very happy with the purchases
Let’s take a moment to thank Chuggaaconory because if it weren’t for him this game wouldn’t exist.
Anyone who knows Chugga knows that litterally every time he does something Xenoblade related something Xenoblade happens.
I just remember how obsessed Polygon was with the fact that the battle theme had an american rapper in it.
