This is sooo unlikely. At most a few hundred thousand people are looking at the switch 2 youtube videos, and this console is supposed to sell tens of millions so its like 1-5 percent of the audience knows at best. And from the leaks it's a pretty standard upgrade so what is there really to spoil aside from the specs sheet that's been mostly revealed for a while now. @@Gamesforus1 I picked on RUclips because of those sites RUclips is bigger than all of them combined, and even on RUclips it's not sizable enough to change Nintendo's strategy. @@WhiteInk47 That's true, but frankly they will buy it if it's leaked or not. Nobody's gonna not buy a switch 2 because they knew the specs a year before they were supposed to.
I’d like the reveal being pretty early on in January tbh, especially if they reveal a launch title or something. It feels so interesting seeing all these leaks about the Switch 2, without knowing really anything specific about the games. And yeah that is true that they might not base revealing it that early only based on who’s talking about it, but I do think that at least the first half of January would be best for it to be revealed.
I don't think that there's going to be any game reveals on Switch 2's reveal trailer. They'll only reveal Switch 2 games during the Switch 2 presentation.
I mean, when I heard "We'll reveal the successor to the Nintendo Switch before the end of the fiscal year," my first thought was "Oh, we'll see it in March, then." they do indeed show up last minute a lot, but their sales are tanking and their new console is leaking. i feel like they know what kind of spot they’re in
This is always what I expected right from when the announcement was first made. In other news, Famitsu released their weekly numbers and the Switch earned another 30/30, despite it being 7 years old. They also sold over 100k consoles in Japan alone, compared to the PS5 only selling around 24k units. Also also, Mario & Luigi: Brothership has been receiving great word of mouth and it is selling better and better than the week previous. M&L are so back and the Switch is here to stay.
I think the funniest thing they could reveal is that they've been DELAYING the reveal because of the leaks and they're just waiting for Leakers to get it out of their system (ha).
This is such a stupid rumour, the reveal was always meant to be January probably. Kit and Krysta have said that this is the dumbest thing they've ever heard and that Nintendo doesn't operate like that, they stick to their plan. Like Arlo said at the end of the video.
I mean Kit and Krysta have been wrong before though. Like, it's not like they're still working there, just that they have experience working with the company
Personally I haven’t taken the idea seriously. I’ve seen it happen before with Hollywood and studios dropping the trailer to beat the leaker to the punch but I really don’t expect Nintendo to care. The average person isn’t even thinking about a Switch 2, the only people who actually care about these leaks are hardcore nintendo fans.
Yeah, I think fans overestimate how much the average consumer cares enough to look up gaming stuff online. All my friends just play their games as they come and then go about their day. And families just get a system as they see fit.
Switch will turn 8 years old in March. Are you sure that the average person is still not ready for a successor? Did covid distorted people's perception of time and made them feel like Switch released just 3-4 years ago?

I still think the new System is gonna be revealed late January to early February. Let Donkey Kong Country Returns breathe for like a short while, but revealing the System before Pokémon Day.

I would be funny that for the New Year, Nintendo starts a countdown a midnight instead of closing one (for thus an announcement in the first half of January).
If they're planning a May or June launch, I can see them doing a quick teaser or commercial in January, then a more in-depth presentation maybe in March
What if Nintendo was just like “due to leaks, we’re pivoting and nobody is getting a new Switch. We’ve scrapped everything and are starting completely over. Let this be a lesson to all the leakers out there. You’ve ruined it for everyone.”
Would be a great way for them to ruin their own finances. And nobody would "learn a lesson" from it. There's always gonna be people who leak stuff. Yeah I'm taking this probably ironic comment seriously but whatever
They're too mature to do that. Nintendo is just smiling and adjusting it's glasses, watching us squirm as their grand master plan unfolds. Shiggy doin' a little jiggy inside a warp pipe, while the ghost of Iwata spawns infinite bananas above them. I had such strange dreams last night.
Firstly I doubt the leaks are real, but secondly - if they WERE real, yes. Nintendo refuses to do what people expect. The moment people delude themselves into predicting their next move, Nintendo says "fuck you, Cardboard" and we get Labo. They will do it again and I fear what we will bring upon ourselves.
There have been rumors and leaks about the switch 2 for like 4 years now. I'm not holding my breath; Nintendo will reveal the new console when they're good and ready. It makes sense that they would wait until after the holidays. Wouldn't want to dampen switch sales by revealing a new console at Christmas.
Of the 150 million Nintendo Switch owners, how many know the Switch 2 leaks? I think 1 million is optimistic, actually people searching for information daily about the Switch 2 is a small niche.
If it was “early” then it would release YESTERDAY! Everyone was expecting Switch 2 this year. Every future release date is now “on time”. Unless we are talking about a 2027 release. Then it’s definitely LATE!
So the question is, how would we even know if they change the day of the reveal? Even if they reveal it in early January, how do we know that wasn’t always the plan?
I am predicting January 6-9. Shot in the dark, but Wednesday or Thursday. Don't expect much from it though, just a teaser for hardware. The full launch lineup reveal will be in the middle of February (12-19th).
@@thespeedyyoshi Nah, I'm thinking release will be between April and June. If it launches before the investor briefing like the original switch did, I'd be impressed. Not surprised, but definitely impressed. Nintendo have gone on record saying it will be "revealed" by march. Which leads me to believe the "launch" itself will be after march. I think it will definitely be out before june. June is the latest. Though, I could see July at the absolute longest, but I wouldn't say going that long between reveal and launch to be even remotely advised.
@@CraitMerc A console reveal that doesn't talk "launch lineup" is still just a teaser. It might talk about "features", but that's it, which is still a teaser by modern day norms.
I don’t think Nintendo will show it off any earlier than planned because that’s the most Nintendo thing ever we only have to wait a maximum of 90 days anyways so it’s not that long until it’s shown off
I always assumed that if there's any chatter about Nintendo moving the reveal up because of leakers, it's just talk within Nintendo. If they reveal it early in 2025, it's part of the plan.
I'm also "hearing chatter..." It's all coming from RUclipsrs telling me a reveal is imminent, but I've been hearing this "chatter" since Seotember, so...?
I fully expect this to happen. Switch 2 hype has reached critical mass. Even I, someone who has managed to avoid 99% of Switch 2 discussion for years, has been caught up in the hype tornado. I'm not sure how much longer the community is going to last! Even if the worst-case scenario happens (that being Switch 2 releases 2026 or later), at the very least we'll have official confirmation the device is real, and we'll have all of its juicy specs to hold us over.
I genuinely wish that Nintendo would not be so stuck in their ways and would actually like provide information about a successor, like if they're going to do it right they either have to do it like the 3DS era where they were literally telling everyone no we're not working on anything there is nothing coming nobody knew any information and then out of nowhere they dropped a new system and it exploded, or they actually just should give information like we've known that they've been working on something like obviously as a consumer base we know they're going to be making a new system eventually but like we've known since July of this year that it is like confirmed their working on it but I don't think we knew until like September if it was confirmed or not if it will have backwards compatibility which is like something you should totally say way early on and in my mind if you're already at the point where you're like we're going to announce a new console soon then you literally already have the final design of it more or less done You're more than likely not going to change anything so just show people it and be like yo this will come out eventually, honestly I'm a little sad that they didn't go before the Christmas season and be like the new Nintendo switch system will come out in April of next year and because of that we're going to put the Nintendo switch system regular for like $200 to really sell those last bit of units to people who just want a regular switch but they didn't really do anything like that
We can pretend all day that the "leaks" we've seen are legitimate, but when I heard that the codename for this Switch 2 is called "Ounce" and it just looks like a bigger Switch with more stuff, I'm just not convinced what we've seen so far is anything more than a hoax. Nintendo isn't Sony or Microsoft, they don't just upgrade specs, throw in an extra button, and call it a day. They turn around and do something crazy, like make the Wii. They're the ones that explore the space, they push the boundaries, they innovate, and it's the fact that they haven't moved on from the Switch that has made the market feel so stagnant in recent years and it's left Sony and Microsoft with nothing to copy from. My theory is Nintendo doesn't want another Wii U on their hands, so they're going to milk the Switch dry, then give us something new and different enough to sell the entire Switch install base on upgrading. If I'm wrong and what we've seen from the "leaks" turn out to be true, I'm going to be disappointed in Nintendo and I won't be upgrading until we see something worth upgrading to.
New Years is the biggest holiday in Japan. I would be shocked if anything was announced the first half of January. I think 'might announce early's could mean we went from March to February on our timeline. Which would be a lovely birthday present for me!
I doubt they'd actually do anything like it, but I think it would be a bold way to start the year to give us the first reveal trailer as a sort of a new year's gift, right at the start of the year. Maybe even at midnight Tokyo time! Or at the end of the Japanese new year's festival, on or after January 4th.
This reminds me of when Rockstar dropped the GTA6 trailer early just because it was leaked. They just say "FINE damnit! Do you want your trailer? There! You happy?"
I don't think that's the best analogy. With Rockstar, the whole trailer itself was leaked. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't drop the trailer earlier because, I don't know, the main character's name was leaked. They dropped the trailer earlier because the trailer itself was leaked. If the Nintendo presentation itself was leaked somehow (or maybe if someone got hold of a Switch 2 unit and posted a video playing it), then maybe they'd drop it earlier since it was already on the internet, but that didn't happen. What "leaked" was some (supposed) Switch 2 mock-ups.
@@Nine5Vaderno the leak literally happened a few hours before they were going to drop the trailer anyways and the only reason the leak happened is because they had the trailer uploaded to their RUclips account but just not public and then a RUclips employee went into their channel and pulled the video and shared it online
The most likely function of the mysterious C button is that it will center the camera (screen) on the player. This is something that regular gamers have learned to do naturally by quickly toggling Z-Targeting on and off but novice gamers struggle with with the most basic of camera controls. The C-Stick on the GameCube controller controlled the camera and Nintendo is nothing if not faithful to what has come before. I've yet to hear any suggestion better than this basic functionality.
I was already expecting the reveal in early-mid January, and it’s currently late December, so when would they even move it up to? This sort of rumor is unfalsifiable, no matter when they reveal it someone is going to claim they planned the reveal later and then moved it up.
What I wonder about the new console, is what games it's supposed to have in the launch year. Think about it: Zelda (both 3d and 2d), Pikmin, Xenoblade, 2D Mario, Paper Mario, Mario Party, Mario & Luigi, Splatoon and the latest game from Good Feel saw their releases very recentely, so there's no way we'll have one of those in the launch year; PlatinumGames is falling apart, so in general I don't expect anything from them; and I really don't think we'll have Mario Kart or a new 2d Metroid before 2026. So going by exclusions what is left? Of course the big one is a 3d Mario game, I think it will be the most important game for the console in the launch year. Other games might be Kirby (technically this one saw two very recent releases as well, but Hal Laboratory has a shorter span of time for the releases, so it can get one release in the launch year) and Arms (Hoping that it will be better than the last one). And them there are the potential cross gen games: Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends ZA. I think the former will be released at launch day of the console, but I don't expect it or even Pokemon to really move the sales of the new console, since the games will also be available on the first Switch. In general, I'm not really eager to get the new console yet, since the only games I would get are Mario and Kirby, so... I think I'll let some years pass and wait for more interesting games before getting it...
Because Switch 2 games will have the production value of AAA PS4 games and because PS4 quality games are a new frontier for Nintendo plus the much higher development costs, I expect Switch 2's first year to be dry. There will be Switch 1 exclusives released in between Switch 2's releases. Despite this, it'll still receive more games in its first year than the PS5 in its first 3 years combined.
The rumors are Nintendos fault for going completely dark on everyone. Their last presentation was for the 3 upcoming holiday games the last of which released almost two months ago. There hasn’t been anything on switch 2 or switch 1, not a game release date for z-a or prime 4, just nothing. You can’t go 8 months without so much as even a mention of a new switch 1 game without people getting a little restless.
Is this comment a joke 😂 Nintendo has mentioned the fact that there won’t be any switch successor news almost every time there is a direct or announcement, we just got a new Zelda and Mario game, and we’ve been waiting for prime 4 news for the last 7 years. We haven’t been left in the dark at all.
I’m so tired of the “leaks” and discussion around Switch 2 I just want it to come out already to shut people up. This crap has been going on for 4 years at this point.
I guess it's possible but this company is nothing if not stubbornly tight-lipped, I bet they'll drop a trailer on the midnight of March 31st just after the fiscal year.
I honestly don't know what they had to gain by telling us there would be a console successor if they intended on being extremely quiet about it for months. I've seen some journalists call it "the least hyped console launch" which sounds like a bit much but at the end of the day I feel like it probably would have been a better play to just not even tell us it was coming until they were ready to show it off.
Have you not heard about the supposed leak regarding January 8? The leaker of the June Direct this year is doing a Fibonacci sequence countdown leading up to January 8, so that is what I'm tentatively looking forward to.
Jan. 15th is my guess. we know they like their Wednesdays. why not earlier...strange/dumb reason is Splatoon's Christmas splatfest happens at the start of the month.
I'm wondering if this one will have a gimmick. Every Nintendo console since the Wii had a gimmick: The Wii with the wiimote with the IR blaster and motion controls, the Wii U with the gamepad, and the Switch with the hybridness. It's either that, or they'll go the Gamecube route and go for a more powerful version, though I doubt that.
Well honestly the leaks just became annoying at this point. But it also feels like that Nintendo is just stretching the announcement of there next console. And also what did they except that there weren't going to be any leak's of like products stuff for the next handheld? They needed to just announce it already couple of months ago in my opinion 😅
The fact people genuinely want to ignore their insight is insane. People need to realize they may not peddle leaks like other RUclipsrs, but they clearly have connections at Nintendos still and know what’s going on at least a little bit too
I think they‘re going to air it on march 31st, on the 4th anniversary of mario (from super mario)‘s death back in 2021, announcing he is alive again and reveal the return of 3d all stars and galaxy 2
Nintendo's goal was to hold off on revealing the Switch 2 so as to not hurt Switch 1 Christmas sales. Well Christmas has come and gone so they've accomplished that goal. They could reveal it very soon and that could have been the plan all along.
They keep delaying the Switch 2 because of leaks. I wouldn't be surprised if they wothheld even more information about it now in retaliation. Every leak that comes out we get further from the reveal it seems.
It was speculated from the beggining it would be a January reveal. I believe it will be soon because thry have already stopped production on a lot of Switch skus. Most models expired this month, the next set expires in March. This means they are already slowing production on Switch one to make Switch 2.
I think there have been lots of leaks BECAUSE the reveal is close and not the other way around. Nintendo has rarely been reactionary like that. If accessories manufacturers have it it's because the reveal is imminent imo
I feel as though a number of more casual consumers (parents who don't follow this stuff chief among them, would feel burned if Nintendo announced the Switch 2 so early after buying the first Switch for the Holidays. I would like to think Nintendo is aware of this and will at least have a grace period. An announcement is not a release so there is still time to burn after the announcement, probably 3 months. Can't blame Nintendo for that, they are a business that needs to move forward. after all. Thats why I'm thinking no announcement till the end of March, which is the self-imposed deadline they gave us.
To be honest I'm a gigantic Nintendo fan but even I have to say they waited too long. If they reveal it now I want real good games and features or I'm not impressed. Should've released a long time ago
I think it’s good to remember it is just barely past Christmas, and in Japan, New Years Day is when the kids get their annual (お年玉) windfall of money. This means many new Switches may have just been purchased or still will be purchased by those not familiar with the rumors. I doubt Nintendo is going to do their reveal so soon, when many people just bought a new Switch. If anything they may have more reason to delay the reveal as late as possible to ensure they nail it. They have the difficult job of providing Nintendo’s“surprise and delight” despite us having already seen the console form. So they may have more reason to take their time. We’ll see though.
As a response to all these leaks and rumors Nintendo will now wait until April 1st for the reveal, then right as the official reveal trailer is about to play they will switch (pun intended) to a huge April fools screen 😆.
I think, realistically, you're right that the leaks aren't something Nintendo ultimately cares about. I figure we're getting the info by the end of March either way, because, end of the fiscal year, but I don't think it'll be early due to leaks. You get stuff like this all the time, where a small but vocal community of people (especially online) most invested in a given thing have this attitude that everyone who at all cares about the thing is as invested as that small but vocal group... It's really easy to do, too! I mean, look how many people are talking, posting, etc. about these leaks! ...But then you look at that number out of the whole of Nintendo's consumer base and we are undeniably a drop in the bucket. I still think whenever it is announced, and whatever we end up seeing (because ngl I'm still partially skeptic of basically all the leaks, but maybe that's a me issue... lol), parts of the small but vocal community of invested people will INSIST up and down, "we did this, the leaks and sharing those leaks forced their hand," and it's not true but it's also always gonna happen and there's not much harm in it. My only wariness with people thinking leaks bring what they want faster is that it can set a precedent that inspires some unsavory behavior, and it would not stop at Nintendo or any other big company, there'd be bad actors... But I don't think it's there yet, so... Hopefully never! Whoo, that was quite a ramble, but I just tend to do that... Maybe that exlains how, whenever Arlo says he's going on a tangent in these videos, I often feel like, "no, this is just how talking works, right?"
I did feel it was AWFULLY coincidental that there was rumors of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD ports were coming to Switch right after Skyward Sword HD was announced. People fell for it purely out of wishful thinking. Why would Nintendo do a game bundle of last gen games? When they last did it for Mario, it was a limited time release and Bowser’s Fury was a much smaller campaign even if well refined.
I don’t know, on one hand I don’t understand why they’re dragging their feet on revealing the dang thing. But on the other hand, I don’t understand what difference it makes on waiting. It will happen when it happens, I guess. 🤷♂️
I just think Nintendo is the kind of company to change course / cancel plans the moment a story on it breaks or something leaks. And the very fact this story exists probably means they WON'T reveal it any earlier then they initially planned. Like, maybe the leaks began to bother them. And maybe they DID begin to chat about it and maybe they really did start to come up with dates much closer to the new year. But I feel like that chatter probably stopped the moment this story came out. Nintendo supposedly cancelled an entire Zelda Netflix series because of leaks, and I could be wrong here but I can't help but feel like that's just Nintendo's overall practice now because they thrive on the element of surprise.
According to the September factory leak, it'll have a bigger 8 inch screen, magnetic joy-cons, bigger SL and SR buttons, bigger detach buttons, a C button on the right Joy-Con, a second USB port on the top and it's specs are estimated to be between PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S in docked mode, making it roughly 6x more powerful than Switch 1.
I originally thought that when Nintendo said that the Switch 2 would be announced by March 2025 that they said that it would launch by March. So I am very disappointed to learn months later of my mistake.
I think Arlo may be right with the reveal day. For whatever reason, most of the Nintendo Directs have been on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule. The original Switch reveal was on Thursday, October 20th, 2016. It is likely we may see the new console around January 23rd, 2025. I don't know how much longer they would want to wait because it is very likely going to be released for the new fiscal year in Japan, which is in April. We could see the Switch 2 release on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, but this may all be wishful thinking.
They're probably not gonna announce it until they're SURE they have enough stock to satisfy the demand which will inevitably be very high at least at launch. That might be in January if the leaks about production are to be believed, and it might not be till March.

The only thing I don't know is 1) is the chip 4nm or 8nm, 2) what are they going to do with the c button and the top usb c port and 3) the launch lineup and 4) how will cross compatibility work.
Switch 2 leaks aren't just RUclips, it's being reported on various gaming websites and reddit and Twitter. They're kind of everywhere at this point
@@Gamesforus1 I picked on RUclips because of those sites RUclips is bigger than all of them combined, and even on RUclips it's not sizable enough to change Nintendo's strategy. The leaks are everywhere in the hardcore gaming sphere but the hardcore gaming sphere is not that big and it's a secondary market to Nintendo.
The 1-5 percent are what gets the sales ball rolling
@@WhiteInk47 That's true, but frankly they will buy it if it's leaked or not. Nobody's gonna not buy a switch 2 because they knew the specs a year before they were supposed to.
@danielgrezda3339Yes but if the reveal trailer is just things that people already know, it’ll attract significantly less attention.

The real Switch 2 was all the friends we made along the way
I mean, when I heard "We'll reveal the successor to the Nintendo Switch before the end of the fiscal year," my first thought was "Oh, we'll see it in March, then." Like yeah, they could technically reveal it sooner, but I really didn't think they'd show it sooner than the last minute for some reason. XD
they do indeed show up last minute a lot, but their sales are tanking and their new console is leaking. i feel like they know what kind of spot they’re in
This is always what I expected right from when the announcement was first made. It just made me kind of confused how SO MANY people thought it was gonna be revealed in September and RELEASED in March. I interpreted the announcement as Nintendo basically saying "yeah, we'll reveal it in February or March" or something.

I often forget, but Mario Kart 8 is TEN YEARS OLD. Nowadays it has good graphics, but back then it looked impossibly good!
Imo it’s still one of the best looking games I’ve ever played! (Ignoring the bcp)
The next Mario Kart will blow 8's graphics out of the water and make 8 look outdated.

Juicy rumor!
@@lol-ih1tl most people bought the switch because it was popular and cheap but they ultimately don’t have the need to play nintendo games everyday like we do. Any Switch 2 leak is free marketing for the system , leads to hype.
I really cant see why nintendo would change the reveal based on these leaks
Why not
@ because they have made a plan to maximize sales. The leakes dont change anything.
I’ve been very excited by the leaks, if you’ve seen models of the dock floating around, or special edition concepts, those were completely made by myself
It would have been crazy if Nintendo had pre-made the switch 2 reveal and dropped it on Christmas day with no other fanfare
Nintendo announcements are usually made 2-3 months in advance. So it's not surprising the fact that Switch 2's reveal trailer has already been made.
Turns out when you wait too long "fine ill do it myself" becomes a viable tactic
I still think the new System is gonna be revealed late January to early February. Let Donkey Kong Country Returns breathe for like a short while, but revealing the System before Pokémon Day.
New Year is a much bigger holiday in Japan than Christmas and most businesses will be closed through next weekend, so even if this were true, I wouldn’t expect anything before the 6th.
5:09 this is a point that I think many people in the community completely forget
I still have a backlog so I'm fine either way
The Snow Land race at 3:19 was so much easier to watch than the first race.
Fr my guy wasn't even trailing bananas ofc he got 3rd
@@NovaMaster375They did trail bananas a couple times though; gave up the first one quickly to get a double-item instead, and the second one at the end of lap 2 was stolen by a boo.
I think they would have held the banana at the end if they realized they were about to overtake first, but attempted to use it offensively instead, thinking it was their only shot.
I would be funny that for the New Year, Nintendo starts a countdown a midnight instead of closing one (for thus an announcement in the first half of January).
If they're planning a May or June launch, I can see them doing a quick teaser or commercial in January, then a more in-depth presentation maybe in March
I agree with the point around 6:00, I have never even seen these leaks. I don't know what the switch 2 looks like.
I have somehow avoided all Switch 2 leaks so I am in fact excited for the proper reveal
That would be funny, but it would also be terrible business sense
There have been rumors and leaks about the switch 2 for like 4 years now. I'm not holding my breath; Nintendo will reveal the new console when they're good and ready.
It makes sense that they would wait until after the holidays. Wouldn't want to dampen switch sales by revealing a new console at Christmas.
You're so right arlo, I enjoyed watching this whole video in it's entirety before commenting

@Scott... The joke is that I posted this a minute after the videos release
The switch leaks have become a meme now with all the leaks.
This reminds me of the gta 6 trailer 2 situation. Everyone thinks it’s around the corner but then you turn the corner and it’s not there
So the question is, how would we even know if they change the day of the reveal? Even if they reveal it in early January, how do we know that wasn’t always the plan?
I am predicting January 6-9. Shot in the dark, but Wednesday or Thursday.
Don't expect much from it though, just a teaser for hardware. The full launch lineup reveal will be in the middle of February (12-19th).
That’s what I’m banking on too.
Seems like a good timing window.
I PRAY that the whole release in March rumor is real oh my god pleaseeee
They're not doing the teaser thing again. It'll be just the announcement. Too much time has passed for that.

It serves them right for delaying even just a reveal when so much has been leaked and rumoured months ago
Finally someone gets it
No one said anything about revealing a system before the end of the physical year
I don’t think Nintendo will show it off any earlier than planned because that’s the most Nintendo thing ever we only have to wait a maximum of 90 days anyways so it’s not that long until it’s shown off

If it turns out that all the rumours were complete fiction feeding on each other, you know no-one is going to learn a god damn thing for next time.
I believe that Nintendo will see the poor Christmas sales of the Switch they may release the Switch 2 in March.
I always assumed that if there's any chatter about Nintendo moving the reveal up because of leakers, it's just talk within Nintendo. If they reveal it early in 2025, it's part of the plan.
Nintendo's gonna build its own darn factory
I'm also "hearing chatter..."
It's all coming from RUclipsrs telling me a reveal is imminent, but I've been hearing this "chatter" since Seotember, so...?
I fully expect this to happen. Switch 2 hype has reached critical mass. Even I, someone who has managed to avoid 99% of Switch 2 discussion for years, has been caught up in the hype tornado. I'm not sure how much longer the community is going to last! Even if the worst-case scenario happens (that being Switch 2 releases 2026 or later), at the very least we'll have official confirmation the device is real, and we'll have all of its juicy specs to hold us over.
I genuinely wish that Nintendo would not be so stuck in their ways and would actually like provide information about a successor, like if they're going to do it right they either have to do it like the 3DS era where they were literally telling everyone no we're not working on anything there is nothing coming nobody knew any information and then out of nowhere they dropped a new system and it exploded, or they actually just should give information like we've known that they've been working on something like obviously as a consumer base we know they're going to be making a new system eventually but like we've known since July of this year that it is like confirmed their working on it but I don't think we knew until like September if it was confirmed or not if it will have backwards compatibility which is like something you should totally say way early on and in my mind if you're already at the point where you're like we're going to announce a new console soon then you literally already have the final design of it more or less done You're more than likely not going to change anything so just show people it and be like yo this will come out eventually, honestly I'm a little sad that they didn't go before the Christmas season and be like the new Nintendo switch system will come out in April of next year and because of that we're going to put the Nintendo switch system regular for like $200 to really sell those last bit of units to people who just want a regular switch but they didn't really do anything like that
This is how you completely neuter the switch’s final holiday season
Least someone’s got a good take 🫡
New Years is the biggest holiday in Japan.
There! You happy?"
That leak happened waaay before the trailer dropped
But the trailer only leaked a few hours earlier so it was nore like "fine we wanted to release the trailer tomorrow now you can have it this evening"
And then it got 92 million views in 24 hours
I remember there being an early 2018 direct that Nintendo didn't even bother promoting beforehand because it leaked.
I was already expecting the reveal in early-mid January, and it’s currently late December, so when would they even move it up to?
This sort of rumor is unfalsifiable, no matter when they reveal it someone is going to claim they planned the reveal later and then moved it up.
Imagine Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the Graphical power of a PS4 Pro? Anyone else hope old games get updates on the Switch 2?
I doubt that Switch 1 games will get next gen patches because this is Nintendo.
Nintendo doesn’t have to be a fountain of announcements, man. They’re doing just fine.
And they did announce a bunch of stuff like Xenoblade X
Is it even confirmed to be called Switch 2? I'm still holding out hope for Super Switch
I’m so tired of the “leaks” and discussion around Switch 2 I just want it to come out already to shut people up. This crap has been going on for 4 years at this point.
Four years? Seven. Seven years. Rumors of updated models have been happening since the Switch released.
@@anonymone453 they didn't shut up when the oled released
I would say more like 2 years
I guess it's possible but this company is nothing if not stubbornly tight-lipped, I bet they'll drop a trailer on the midnight of March 31st just after the fiscal year.
Why would they do that? They don’t care about a couple of leaks that only a small subset of people on certain forums care about.
What in the Stand-Alone Complex is this rumor. Would be nice, but Nintendo will release it when Nintendo is ready.
I hope they do, I NEED to see it.
It'll probably be a non tangible system software feature, but only Switch 2 software will be compatible with it.
Well honestly the leaks just became annoying at this point. But it also feels like that Nintendo is just stretching the announcement of there next console. And also what did they except that there weren't going to be any leak's of like products stuff for the next handheld? They needed to just announce it already couple of months ago in my opinion 😅
Kit and Krysta worked at Nintendo for a decade and they said on their podcast that Nintendo would never do this.
The fact people genuinely want to ignore their insight is insane. People need to realize they may not peddle leaks like other RUclipsrs, but they clearly have connections at Nintendos still and know what’s going on at least a little bit too
@@Mirage475they don’t peddle leaks (which is refreshing)
They never delayed it in the first place.
That’s a heavy marketing ship to steer. I hope it’s not true for the sake of EVERYONE working on the reveal.
That is why I barely look at any leaks.
Exactly 🤦♂️ and arlo encourages leaks
Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD Switch port rumors existed since 2017.
@ Those rumors skyrocketed right after the announcement
I don’t know, on one hand I don’t understand why they’re dragging their feet on revealing the dang thing. But on the other hand, I don’t understand what difference it makes on waiting. It will happen when it happens, I guess. 🤷♂️
Call me crazy but I don't think a company should mess up their whole marketing / release schedule because of leaks. Leaks suck tbh.
Good, that's Nintendo's problem
I just think Nintendo is the kind of company to change course / cancel plans the moment a story on it breaks or something leaks. And the very fact this story exists probably means they WON'T reveal it any earlier then they initially planned. Like, maybe the leaks began to bother them. And maybe they DID begin to chat about it and maybe they really did start to come up with dates much closer to the new year. But I feel like that chatter probably stopped the moment this story came out. Nintendo supposedly cancelled an entire Zelda Netflix series because of leaks, and I could be wrong here but I can't help but feel like that's just Nintendo's overall practice now because they thrive on the element of surprise.
they took too long for reveal out of greed to fully milk switch 1
It's going to be Wii Thrii
I can't wait to see what the Switch Attach looks like
According to the September factory leak, it'll have a bigger 8 inch screen, magnetic joy-cons, bigger SL and SR buttons, bigger detach buttons, a C button on the right Joy-Con, a second USB port on the top and it's specs are estimated to be between PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S in docked mode, making it roughly 6x more powerful than Switch 1.
I originally thought that when Nintendo said that the Switch 2 would be announced by March 2025 that they said that it would launch by March. So I am very disappointed to learn months later of my mistake.
"To close out the new year" Arlo's already done with 2025
I think Arlo may be right with the reveal day.
The way I see it, they got through the Holiday sales. It's Switch 2 season now !!!
They're probably not gonna announce it until they're SURE they have enough stock to satisfy the demand which will inevitably be very high at least at launch. That might be in January if the leaks about production are to be believed, and it might not be till March.
