It's incredible how this band has stayed true to the sounds that define it like the chimey atmospheric cleans and the djent-djennn-djennnt rhythm tone. Some things don't change and I'm glad this band is one of them.
Agreed. And it's no small feat to continue to hone and perfect a sound over a career as long as theirs, and that's one of the reasons they're such a special band.
And at the same time they have progressed and evolved their sound with every album! Such an incredible journey - following this band as they have improved and matured!
Legion is a massive evolution for them, and it's still in their own style as well.. insane band.

'One' was
It’s pretty subjective. It’s a phenomenal album, as they all are! Personally Altered State was a masterpiece. Just depends on who you are and what you like!
Regardless of what we each like, this is their strongest effort. The band took their best strengths and took them to a whole new level. This is the only tesseract album I like more than One. They're all good but I never thought they'd top One until now.
Not to discredit their previous albums of course. One and Altered state of two of my favourite albums of all time. But this album took all my favourite elements from the previous 4 albums and turned them up to the next level on War of Being

@@skyhunter996 are you referring to using raw drum tones and triggering? I don't recall them ever programming drums for an album. He just utilizes midi and an e-kit for his online streams

I have seen them live twice. I feel their music sounds the same as it does in this pre-recorded video. They are the finest band of our time.

Listening to him break down his process is like hearing secrets of the universe.
Jay has to be one of the best live drummers. Every rhythm and beat he plays has a place and a purpose.

Most underrated album of last year for how ridiculously good it is
I was at this show. What a fucking performance. The absolute best sounding band I’ve ever seen live, and their presence was so ethereal, especially Dan.
brings me back to seeing em live in Melbourne, Tesseract ages like a fine wine, both in the studio and ESPECIALLY in live performance. It feels like more than just a gig, it's more like an experience
I hope I get to catch them live one day. The Contortionist show that I’ve been to gave me that same feeling of it being a unique experience rather than just another metal show.

I've been a proud fan for more than 12 years now and I will continue to do so! This band never let me down. What a gem.
Y'know it really amazes me how Tesseract have come full circle vocally. From a decent amount of screaming on One (still very good but fairly amateur), completely getting rid of screams on Altered State, and then slowly building them up again with background screams on Polaris, some more forward ones on Sonder and just the straight up savagery on War Of Being. Immense.

I can't think of many, if any bands who have evolved and expanded their sound, consistently put out nothing but great music and CIRCLED BACK to being able to be, and unashamed to be as heavy as they were when they started. The heavy vocals and all of the vocals go crazy on this record. Titans, these guys.
