I'd add Spencer Sotelo to that list. He started off as a really unsure live vocalist but he has gotten better and better with each passing year, it's incredible to see
Daniel Gildenlow is something else, even with his age and health issues he sounds like a recording every time he performs. Check out Iter Impius from the BE dvd for some of his live vocals.
Played this song out loud from my phone, and my 7 year old asked me how many singers the band had. I said one, and the confusion on his face was a picture. So I showed him the video, and I could see the cogs in his head going round like, "Wut?" He asked me how he (Dan) does it, and I said ,"He's just a beast." Thanks for blowing the mind of my 7 year old and making him more interested in your music.

I'm a drummer , i Remember listening to you here in Milano at Legend club in 2016, i had waited long to listen to the contersionist and tesseract drum perfomances, i was there with an Italian progressive metal core band wich Also happen to have a really sick drummer , the band destrage. I was hiped up , but i remained astonished for your vocal perfomance , even in a Little place with no such a good acoustic like the Legend...cheers from Italy, you are really a force of nature.
My Son who is a guitarist who has his degree and masters in music technology and performance. And he can sing a bit but he signed up to do vocal coaching with Dan. And I'm not kidding but he hasn't been doing it very long and has sang Smile and King and I couldn't believe how better he was so we know he on the right path. He is doing health stuff he recommends to look after your voice the guy is just amazing !!!
Hey Dan! Been following since the very beginning of TesseracT and i must say you, should always be the front man in the band! Ashe was like an alien in Altered State and slayed that shit but, to me, that was just a concept-sort-of-album and not the "real deal". This cover was superb. The technique makes me wanna cry. You should always have a spot in TesseracT.
i just seen Tool in Toronto and theyre gods but after 10 years of waiting i had to find something else. Tesseract is about as good as it gets. They dont sound like anyone else. Dan has a voice like Maynard, just hope he didnt blow his voice as well. Got to have those screams!
Hi David, no singer ever would put a RAW untreated vocal on something like this but to be clear, what you're hearing is a single tracked vocal with no editing or pitch correction. The lead has some basic De-essing, EQ, compression, reverb and delay, which is automated but nothing that really get's in the way of the performance - it's there to make it listenable. You can hear the natural inaccuracies in the take and the lead is quite nicely placed upfront so you can hear what's there, which is pretty much what I was going for - Dan

Hold up how many vocalists have this band had - it feels like every time RUclips recommends me a tesseract video it's a new guy. Their music has stayed pretty generic I've gotta say though. I like some of their songs though.
That's because it was most likely did some post processing / volume automation in post. Not to take anything away from his performance thought. Amazing vocalist without a doubt

My Son has just signed up for vocal coaching, he is a primarily a guitarist and bass guitar, he can sing he isn't bad, he started though doing shouty vocals. He has potential but he said himself he wants to learn from Dan.
