I planted carrots for the first time this spring! Danvers.. they did great so I’m planting for fall if these 100degree temps will come down… around sept/October.
If you have access to dried pine needles, they have worked the best for me as well as being an excellent mulch. Contrary to old beliefs, they do not break down fast enough to change your soil PH.
Thanks for the reminder to plant carrots. We also do the cardboard trick
No problem Joe!
❤
Basil reseeds itself. I had two plants that went to seed and the other days I went out to check and zi've got a ton of baby basil plants coming up! 😊😊
I will probably have too much by the end of the growing season!
I have a 50 by 50 garden fenced in with 6 foot chain link and it is like the county litter box
Haha. I hear ya there. I always figured it was just more fertilizer for the garden. 😁
I do the same thing. I've got enough seeds for several acres.
Sometimes, it's only a dollar or two more for double the seeds. Plus, who doesn't like more seeds!

I hate to thin

Don't pull fall carrots til after 1st frost they will be sweeter ,tender, and crisp.
Yeah our first frost is sometime in October....depending on the year. Last year we had fall carrots and they were soooo sweet! 😃
How do you keep your cat from shitting all through your garden?
That's the million dollar question right there! She doesn't usually go in there unless we are!
