It's almost as if Toyota predicted people were going to push these things straight away. Loving the series and also amazed how well the little Yaris is doing.
I'm absolutely blown away with what power gains your getting out of that platform never would of thought or believed.
the thing that hurts the yaris is that its an open deck. When the billet closed deck comes out is when the beasts will show up

Cams, valve springs great! Please consider the.72 housing... That will take care of your lag problems. With the rest of the stuff... Weight savings etc.. definitely destined for the 10's. Best of luck... We will be watching and and supporting. Cheers mate.

My hunch it was Neil Bates Motorsport who made an AP4 GR Yaris, they're sort of factory team (i guess). They kept the 3cyl engine with some modifications.

Any mileage in switching to FWD once you get into 3rd, 4th and 5th? Reduce some drive train loss once you are up and running and traction isn’t an issue? I’d assume you could have the Motec do that on the fly?

Stripping out the interior is more than fine, it's something anyone could do easily enough. I would do what you can to get weight down.

This thing is sick. The good thing about it lasting at that sort of power is that for normal street use most people will probably only want 350kw max, I'm just hoping that someone will crack the factory ecu so there's no need for the 6k motec for street use
My current dream car is a Corvette C5 which only boasts 350hp and weighs 200Kg more than the Yaris, what a time to be alive.

Would any automatic fit into the car? I love and drive manuals but autos are best for drag strips and it would be interesting to see what the car could do with an auto. The other thing to look at is a custom gearbox with gear ratios better suited for the power and torque its now putting out. The stock gearbox is going to hold you back from run times much past 10sec with the 1st and 2nd gear ratios it has.

Pul the bonnet of ✌️ or put carbon bonnet end doors on it end a weight plate that will give you more traction
A part of me hopes this car ends up like JET200 but for the strip. It’ll start out as a street car with great performance, then end up as a full blown drag weapon. Even if it doesn’t, such a great all rounder at the moment

I wish they would at least prep 1 lane for guys that have spent the money on slicks or drag radial set up to get PBs. The brilliant flat surface is there now yet the starting line seems way off with grip compared to the old surface.

why is it experiencing wheelspin in the front? cant you adjust the torque split rearwards up to 70%?

@@internetusername9593 Front is open diff so one wheel spins up. If it had front LSD would be better. 30% of the power is still a lot

Positives... gears held in there, didn't push water, didn't bend anything internal.
Just a question, if you're going for an LSD in the front, is it worth going either up or down on (both diffs) gear to either lengthen 4th or shorten 5th? Or is it just not worth the hassle? Or would this turn it into too much of a pig at WTAC?
Would look at it but no one males different ratios. Solution is more power so more into 5th and a dog-engagement gear set 😁
@@MotiveVideo and you can activate the flat foot shift,launch antilag and full anti lag on the computer as well with the dogs. A sequential alone puts you in the 10's
how are you only dynoing the front when its permanent 4wd?
Its adjustable 4WD and electronic diff. Pulling the handbrake turns off power to rears from factory.

Pretty sure old mates switched it to fwd but they come out awd. Hks's gr yaris is making 475 going to all 4 wheels

everytime you fix 1 weakness in the driveline you always break something further down
Shifts seems a little slow. Maybe run a flat shift switch?
Its a synchro box. Trying to flat shift it on this power simply doesnt work. Not all gearboxes let you shift fast.
I still don’t understand why it can’t 60 foot better than 1.8 with awd prepped or not. Is the wheel alignment set up for circuit? Street tires are average?

I didn't realise the clutch was still stock, no wonder it went. Even for stock power it's not ideal.
Not stock, it was a basic bolt in upgrade they did, meant for a 30% power increase. I'm just surprised the gearbox is holding on!
Higher final drive gear or taller tyres to keep it crossing the line in 4th at redline. 5th gear loses too much time. I'm not saying 10's can't be done in 5th but it will be heaps easier in 4th
no ratio options exist for it
