Thats a huge weight saving, but could you go too light and upset the balance of the car?
you need to remove a lot more than 5% to upset the balance.

Rear seats, plastic trims, seatbelts, plastic engine cover, glovebox, speakers. Not a 30 minutes job but at least another easy 20 kilos

What's the legality of a race seat for a street car?
If the stock seats have airbags, race seats without airbags are not legal on the street. The guys were talking about only using the race seats at the track in this car though

Australia doesn't get Track Pack and our equivilent hasnt arrived yet, and all 200 sold out and cost over 15K more

Same seats in all variants (apart from Japanese RS) of the GR Yaris worldwide.
@@Gooie69 in Australia the Rallye is the track pack, as far as i know his car does not yet have an lsd however may upgrade to a mechanical in the future for better performance.

why not drop the seat height? 4” lower is possible, better driving position, and lowers the weight of the driver, especially the heavier bloke 😂
we did drop the seat height massively. Andrew went from about 5cm head clearance to over 20cm

Why didnt you gor fot the Recaro Podium? Its the lightest street legal seat in the world and its FIA approved, it weighs just 5.4 kg complete with a seat bracket...
And I've just saved 50kg on a car that weighs just 960kg from factory, now it's high af at the rear🤣 I need new lowering springs, or a adjustable suspension 🤣

@@coloneldd and? Racing is expensive, and I wouldn't save money on safety equipment, as Recaro is undoubtedly the best when it comes to racing seats...
@@coloneldd It is pretty reasonable, my mid level seat with harness and seatbelt capabilities with several adjustable areas and road legal in Oz was $1,700 plus a Nismo seat rail.
Because he would rather keep supporting a local company which has a seat that he knows and is satisfied with
