I would never purchase another Caitlin Hunter pattern. Though I am not a super experienced knitter I had issues with the first pattern I knit (my first colour work). She creates beautiful charts but her garments are flawed and I dont know why many knitters dont speak up. The ones that do are usually European, and you have in this video obviously. I have become quite rigid in my choice of designers now, and check the comments on Ravelry before even deciding to choose a design. I have a handful of designers that I love and trust and that is good enough for me! Thank you for being honest, we need that. I absolutely love your version of the Eastward jacket!!!! I am behind in watching your videos so I am looking forward to seeing the episode where you talk about the modifications you make, I have hesitated to make many of Emily's patterns because she is petite and loves to swaddle herself in her oversize clothes. On her it looks really lovely, on me I would look like a sack of potatoes 😳🤣.
I have heard a lot of complaints about the Birkin one- it has really put me off- but there are many lovely designers out there! I think Emily's eastwind might have a lot more positive ease than mine- to be honest I am not so keen on how it looks with skirts and dresses- i think its more something i will wear with trousers! to look less potato sacky haha
I did not know you also had a youtube channel. Stumpeled upon it by chance. So glad I did! Love your knits and aesthetic ☺ Happy Knitting and Sewing from Germany
I have also had an issue with errors in a Caitlin Hunter pattern and Birkin is famous for being ill fitting due to the design not working with anyone’s body shape. So much so that I’ve excluded her from my Ravelry searches and hot right now as I’ve decided she doesn’t deserve any more of my money. Your MM linen looks gorgeous. I have a long sleeve linen top but I don’t wear it with my linen skirts as I feel there’s a lampshade look to the 2 cones on top of each other.
haha I so know what you mean my lampshade look!!!! I just love linen and trying to think of a new shape of garment to make from it.... yes i dont think i will be bothering with CH patterns again!
So many beautiful things and interesting thoughts, as usual. I'm sure I've commented on that lovely green Felix before, still love it. I have one in Lopi, which is a favourite. Caitlin Hunter pattern woes are so unacceptable - having to cut sections and so on??? She should at the very least offer a refund. However! What an amazing jersey you have made of it - LOVE the colours you have chosen. It looks really good on you. I wasn't keen on the Viola pattern, but seeing yours has made me rethink. More beautiful greens in your dyed yarns. How lucky to get a surprise trip to MM! Ranunculous is a pattern whose popularity I simply can't understand. I will wait for you to change my mind :) Thanks for a lovely podcast!
thank you :) i think the rannuculus can look so different depending on what yarn and needle size is used, I am looking forward to making quite a dense one! thanks again :)
loving all your work! and colors.....amazing how you get so much done and so beautifully. Can you tell us what that project bag is that your lento is in? and love the color of the lento too!
