I have taught many people to spin, and your first attempt is really good. We usually tell folks to never throw your first bit away, because in the future, you'll never be able to do it again, because you get stuck on one level of thin and it's difficult to change to thick and thin. Then you find out that thick and thin is fashionable! Just keep working on it, once you get it, you'll get it.
Your spinning looks great! You could keep plying up your first bobbins and then use it in some weaving if/when you get to weaving lol. And your second lot is really coming along. I have been spinning for about 10 years and I remember when I first started I didn’t think I would ever get the hang of it. I think sometimes, when we have a craft completely under our belts, like knitting, when we start to learn a new craft, it can be hard to go back to beginner level, when we are used to being at advanced. Keep at it and it will become second nature in no time. Thanks for another lovely vlog!
Keep going with the spinning, no-one is good to start with (even without dyspraxia!) Plying will even everything out slightly. You could make a very cute and warm plain baby hat with your first skein☺️
Working with tops is not easy when you are learning. Get hold of some Jacob fleece, cold wash, tease with your fingers and spin. Don’t worry if it’s nobly or bobbly, keep going and above all knit it. I wish I could replicate some of the yarns I made in the eighties as they looked great when knitted. Remember, if you want something that looks like you bought it from wool shop, then buy it, what I would advise is embrace the unevenness. Set yourself 10 minutes and day to sit and spin and it will become intuitive.
Wonderful episode, thank you for your efforts. Encouraging you to try plying on your wheel and knit with your handspun. My first handskpun was way wonkier than yours, but I cherish the mitts I made with it!
I think you might want to begin with the shortest short row and work each subsequent one longer so that all the turns are immediately beneath the yoke (my turns are always messy so that hides them better)
I dont make my own make up no, it's mostly a combo of zao and love the planet, I get other bits and Bobs (along with these) from a website we have in the uk called peace with the wild
I dont know tbh, its not something I know anything about. I am also wary of giving myself lots of jobs to do when I will be on huge learning curve just keeping us both alive 😬 there is lots I'd love to do but as a first time mum I'm trying not to have u realistic expectations!

I will!! Just been a little slow to get to it 🤦♀️
My mum sewed her knitting up on the sewing machine 😂😂
I think it's a good idea!
Nice vlog/podcast. I took a spinning class twice before it fell into a rhythm. I have a single treble Lout. Thank you
Thanks! Yeah I think taking a class really helps

I think I ended up doing the opposite 😆 but it seems to be ok!
Enjoyed your video 😊 can you tell me do you make your own makeup if not where do you get yours from?

Are you going to make nappy cream for your little man? Some good natural recipes on RUclips xx
