Wow, that sounds like a lot of stress!! Sending healing vibes to your partner and I hope he heals quickly!!! Love your purchases!!
Thanks :) we are slowly getting better!
Wishing you both healing and good health as your partner recovers from his surgery and you continue on growing your baby! ❤.
thank you :)
Lovely makes! The little seaside sweater is especially cute 🥰 love the look of the raystitch linen small check.
thanks! ah it isn't the seaside one (but inspired by)- it is the baby aosta without the texture as its a DK gauge pattern :)
Great to hear the OP went well. Totally understand this is a very uncomfortable timing for your partner to be out! Hope all will be good in the end and he will be sufficiently better when baby comes! Dont hesitate to ask for help to your surroundings, makes a world of difference! Love your color scheme of the wonderwool haul ❤🎉
thanks :) he is already a little better, so hoping that continues! i love a good colour scheme haul haha
Sending you both lots of healing prayers and thoughts. You do have an unbelievable amount on your plate right now, but you will get through it!
thanks :)
I love that you smell your roving and yarn❤. Oh hopefully your partner will be ok or at least up on crutches for the new little one. Thank you . Very enjoyable and inspiring.
haah!!! thanks. yes he should be on the move by then- i dont think he would be willing to rest that long anyway!!!
Sorry to hear about your partners foot. Glad to hear he's home and resting 😊
thanks :)
Love your Tuku. Maybe wait to see how it is after your deliver before you rip back?? and Oh My Goodness! that bread looks amazing!!!!
yes thats a good point... maybe i should wait until the winter to change it...! the brioche was so good! i might have to make some more next week!
So glad the operation went well and hope your partner is able to recover before the baby arrives too. Xx
thank you- he should be well on the way to being better by then
Oh my! I do hope your partner mends quickly! Not good timing! So glad to meet you at WW and love your purchases … I am very inspired by your projects! Thanks for podcasting ……
ha not the best no, however if it had been closer to the due date that would have been worse.....! yes it was lovely to chat to you in person!! hope you had a good day there !
Oh wow. That is a hard thing to work thru. You will get thru it tho : ) Blessings on you both . Love your podcast
thank you- it has been a bit better last few days :)
Hope the op went well and you're both ok
thanks- he is doing a lot better now
Oh sorry to hear about your partner’s accident and wish him a speedy recovery. A very difficult time for you both. I love all you do and I don’t think I was ever a 32”bust or would be buying your makes. The baby garments are lovely, maybe not in your ethical ideals but please consider some easy to wash and dry things, sticky babies and grandchildren I remember it well, for the latter Jo Jo baby mama fleece all in ones fabulous. Can I ask you what is the hand cream you use do you make it yourself? My thumbs in particular get so sore and dry. The Green check linen is lovely xx
thanks! oh dont worry i am being given plenty of second hand baby clothes, i am a bit younger than most of my friends so quite a few people around us are a couple of years ahead and we being given their grown out clothes :) (also i wash all my wool in the machine and they dry quickly in our attic bedroom so i am not too worried!).i do make my own handcream (i use the bottega zero waste book for recipes).
You'll fit back into your jumpsuit postpartum quite quickly 😊
I'm sure, its quite forgiving in size!
Hello OrchidHeart. I love your podcast and have been watching for quite awhile. I find you very inspiring. Congrats on your coming family addition! Just one question, how is mohair not eco-friendly? I never heard that before. I have a small herd of angora goats (6 of them on our organic small farm) in Canada and they produce lovely mohair that I wash the same as any wool. It can be spun alone or with other fibers. So I am really wondering what is not eco- friendly
:) thanks maybe eco friendly was the wrong phrase? I think I more meant the silk core of most silk mohair blends because I THINK a lot of the silk worms get killed ??? The owner of ca ma rose said the midnatsol was more environmentally friendly that price comparable mohair options- and said that even the more expensive ones the silk worms suffer. Sorry I think I conflated the mohair and the silk ! (And small local produced stuff is almost always better than mass produced options!) Does that make more sense ?
@@orchidsheart Thanks for taking my comment seriously. Yes I think the production of silk is an issue as most of the silk caterpillars are killed. Here is an article on silk where the caterpillars are not killed. Perhaps we could be supporting this small ethical industry. Also Mohair does not have to be spun with silk.
I'm so sorry to hear about your partner- I hope you are both now in a position to be resting and healing. Wonderwool is a most beautiful hour hop across the hills for me, and I've found that as it develops it's my preferred knitting festival that I've experienced here in the UK (so sad Edinburgh no longer exists). So funny you said about Riverknits Chimera, as I too have been wanting to purchase to try and also made a purchase of a couple of skeins. John Arbon is always a must and I'd lined up my want list of yarn to make a Virginia vest from Susan Crawfords new book Echo's - so eager to cast on, but being good and completing an extremely time intensive project that I've told myself a must finish. Also bought yarn to make Natasja Hornby's Aster shawl with some Yak base yarn from Bird Street yarns.
Anything Sewing related is a big hit with me as I build confidence to make the leap into that new world.......
thanks- he is getting a bit better now :) ooo that sounds like some lovely projects and purchases. yes i think WW might be one of the best yarn festivals here!
Loved the Hinterland episode - so inspired I have now purchased the pattern and am looking for fabrics. Please share anything you have made and love to wear - it's so inspiring for a new knitter and sewist - thank you : )
Ditto. I have also bought the pattern, very enthusiastic, but also petrified…it’s donkey’s years since I have made anything for myself. Fabric hunting could be fun…or not 🤭.
:) will do! thanks- good luck!
perhaps make one out of some cheap practice fabric or an old bed sheet to test it out first :)
I have a friend who ripped out unspun yarn more than 2x and had no problems with the yarn.
I think it depends on which unpsun- plutulopi is much stronger that this one. I will do it- but just not really looking forward to it!!
