Her emotion at the annonce of the scores 🥹 she couldn’t jump out of joy because the competition was still ongoing but deep inside she knew she won ❤ she doesn’t land her 4T often but she does when it matter the most. Her mental strength is insane.
Congrats, Mao! 2x JWC! The sad thing about Mao is that: since she won’t be qualified in Milano Cortina 2026 due to age qualification, we might not see her in 2030 olympics. By that time there would be new roster of young Japanese skater.
The Japanese are doing well. The age limit has also been raised, now Shimada will not become an Olympic champion. Although why, if Kaori Sakamoto becomes the Olympic champion???
Consistency has nothing to do with the stiffness of your boot. A soft boot allows a better ankle movement and freedom of skating. It depends on the skater’s style, but Mao is certainly used to these type of skate. She must change them very often. That’s why I’m cringing when I see amateur/debutant skaters buy a pair of concertos or ice fly because according to them they need that extra support and their skates will last longer. Actually if you look at pro skaters, a lot of them are underbooting.
@@dynadwynn I know that. I know that soft skates will provide better edge control. But she’s got those massive jumps… I wonder why she didn’t opt for something stiffer. I’ve tried RF3s before. They were so flimsy, and I was so scared I’d break my ankles, so I stopped using them quite quickly. But Mao’s doing quads now, so I wonder how she’s able to withstand such soft skates.
Which Russian skater are you talking about?! I don't remember anyone this season who could jump 4Lz,4F and 4Lo and they all did it before the whole doping scandal. I guess we know why....

Yeah exactly. She was happy to hear the score. And then it hit her that she would now win the world championship and that's when she cried.
Landing a 4T after falling on every attempt at the warm up. She has the mental strength of a champion.
Reminds me of Shun Sato.
She really does always pull through! Manifesting her staying healthy and on top for the years to come
Being 2nd after SP and stepping out the opening 3A, then coming back with that solid 4T 🤯👍
Such a big heart!!! MAO🥇✨👏💚
Skating with fire 🔥, precision, sophistication and control. The beautiful Japanese ice Princess is World Champ again. Congratulations Mao🌷.
She has stellar jumps and spins-- that one spin toward end-- wow!!!!!
What a lovely performance, she’s an incredible talent. Congratulations, Mao! 🥇🎉
She did the 4T so easily that I thought it was a 3T.
I did a double take when it came up as a quad in the tech box.
It looked so easy and fully rotated!
What a fighter that quad was incredible- she’s had trouble with it all season and to come after the step out on the 3A - Congratulations 🥳 ❤
The best in the world skater❤ new mao
Bravo Mao !! 😍
It's a beautiful 4T!!
That was so beautiful i wish i could skate like that😍

There's no guarantee that she would make the Olympic squad even if she were age eligible. That's sport.
Beautiful music, Beautiful skater
I always loved figure skating or ice skating for that matter. and this is just prefect absoulety beautiful
Beautiful ❤ amazing smile
Mao is an absolute phenom.. i just wish her coaching team would pace her better for the next olympics.
Beautiful execution.....God bless you dear! 😊 Be happy always.❤ Love from India.

Even if the age limit had stayed the same, there's no guarantee of an Olympic spot for anyone, let alone a medal.
Question: why is she still using RF3s? I wonder if she would have better consistency in her hard jumps if she uses a more supportive boot.
It's not that simple though. Softer skates will give you more freedom in your ankles to control your skating and spins

She is 15 years old and participating in the Senior World Champion. I thought they could not participate until the age of seventeen

A couple of tight landings for sure, but the judges certainly were not as strict with her today as they were in the SP.
