  • This is a comparison video that dives into the main differences of the 18 trim / powertrain options of the 2022 Toyota Camry sedan (LE, SE, SE Nightshade Edition, XLE, XSE, and TRD), including the AWD, Hybrid, and V6 variants, and which ones I recommend.

    I bought the LE, as most people do, as it's really all you need, and because it was all I could afford. The only option I got was the weatherproof rubber mats. I would have preferred the XLE. I prefer the 17" wheels over the 18" or 19" wheels, because those super-low profile tires are easily damaged, and expensive to replace. The 17" wheels, with the taller sidewall tires ride better. I also prefer the softer suspension to the "upgraded" sportier suspension for the same reason. I couldn't care less about blind spot monitoring. It is not reliable. You need to look before you change lanes, and I always add blind spot mirrors to any car I drive. My dream car would be a loaded XLE I4 with sunroof, JBL sound etc. but alas, I can't afford it.

      @Contingency IBCT Had it not been for a small inheritance, I would never have been able to afford the car, either. Financing even an LE can easily run into a $500 a month car note, and that is just obscene.

    Thank you, great info. I just purchased the 2022 XSE hybrid. It's got great looks, sporty 19" wheels with 40 profile tires, ~45 mpg. and great sound system. I love the Camry.

    Good video. Other than suggesting a Kia K5 at the end. People shopping Toyota are there for reliability. The Kia will need an engine about 5k miles outside of warranty.

    I've heard the XLE drives smoother than the XSE. Can anyone attest to this?

    I had no idea the LE hybrid came with rear seat vents. Looking for one in blue, and plan to install aftermarket leather seats, but these are so damn hard to find. Thanks for the info!

      After market leather seats!? That sounds expensive. Although I do wish toyota offered walnut colored seats and dash.
      I thought about doing after market black wheels bc the Toyota black wheels looks cheap and are too big. I want more air in my tires.

    I thought full speed radar cruise control came standard with tss 2.5+. The XSE and XLE to me seem like the sweet spot.

    • @drivetorun4172
      @drivetorun4172  2 года назад

      Apologies--I should've clarified--I was referring to full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control. In base form, TSS 2.5+ radar cruise only works at 30mph+ instead of all the way down to zero.

    So how do you get rear vents in an le hybrid? Just add the audio package for 900?$

    • @drivetorun4172
      @drivetorun4172  2 года назад

      You're right that you have to add the audio upgrade, but from what I can tell, that comes bundled with the moonroof, blind spot monitoring, etc., so it's really +$2,790 compared to a base LE Hybrid.

    I don't understand why they would paddle shifters on most of these trims even for the corolla. 95% of people don't use them. It's gets in the way. I accidently pressed them on the highway and came to a complete stop!
    And why all these trims!? It's so confusing. Why not just give us the base trim and let use choose everything we want on it and pay for each additional feature!!!
    On every trim, they have things I want and don't want. I wish I can just choose everything I want!
    I don't like paddle shifters. I don't want 19 inch wheels bc that's a less comfortable ride. I don't want push to start bc that will need repair at some point.
    Geez, I was going to get a rav4 but I am single with no kids and pets so I thought why get a suv just for the leg room. I hate getting in and out as a tall guy.
    Then I was like, okay just get a camry bc I do like how it looks better than the rav4 and it has more mpg and it's cheaper.
    But now idk, I wish they gave us walnut colored seating and dash for that luxury look. I know rav4 has that light tan color which is good.
    Idk what to get. Now is probably not a good time to buy anyway right? Maybe I should wait 2 years for the market and supply chain and chip shortage to get better.

    You pay more for ugly with SE/XSE. Is that what people want in 2022? This isn't the 90s anymore and even back then Honda was actually doing pretty good. Toyota is trying so hard to appeal to the 90s which is hilarious. The LE or LE hybrid(MPG) with convenience package and XLE with cold weather package trims are the ones to get. Don't need a daily V6.
