    Have you considered making the lighter gray part of the curve rounded against the darker grey by using another set of the same curved 3D printed parts? I think it would make the lighter grey section of the curve look a lot more polished and less angled!

    Lego needs to fix the issue since they were the ones who introduced road plates. Official perfect pieces, because any great City constructions needs a good train ! Unless the unofficial pieces make it better completely. Things looking good 😀

    If you want the curve pieces to adhere to the bricks better, try using blutack, it's extremely cheap.

    Don’t sweat the differences in the curve vs the ground (street) surface color. In real-world instances they’d also just cut a straight line as it requires less work to excavate and replace the roadway on either side of the track

  • @Techno-Universal
    @Techno-Universal 2 года назад

    The light grey is quite realistic for the curved crossing as it could resemble the track being in concrete while the road is ash-felt! It would probably look even better on a tramway where the tracks are completely within concrete! :)

    instead of using electrical tape, you can put 2×2 flat round pieces with manhole cover print on them. it would look more natural. or you can put 2×2 jumper plate under it so it wouldn't look odd.

    Instead of white electrical tape, you can use an X-Acto knife to cut up the excess sticker, from official lego sticker sheets. Great way to reuse your sticker sheets instead of just throwing them away 👍🏻

    It always disappoints me that Lego never produces pieces to fix issues like these. It's like their large train tracks are always designed to be placed on top of everything else, and never sunken flush in this way, outside of street crossings but those are always expected to be above ground like a glorified speed bump anyways. It's also always this lack of attention to integration that has always made me feel like the train themes are a bit lacking. I know asking for a solution for each possible road-track offset is a bit much, but Lego could at least provide some official way to integrate tracks like this.

  • @raffia16thblaze10
    @raffia16thblaze10 2 года назад

    3d printed lego compatibles like that honestly are the ONLY feasible way to make them. what you have is an incredibly niche product and making a 20k injection mould to sell maybe a 2 to 3 hundred sets of those just isnt economically feasible. this is the best you will get. their models certainly could use a lil teaking to be more snug on the studs but the product overall is great. them being 3d printed isnt a drawback in the slightest.

  • @rbleisem
    @rbleisem 2 года назад

    I do wonder how you can get to that other route, I mean, what if instead of going towards the bridge, you need to go the other direction?
    I'm missing a part of the cross-road, here.
    So what is actually planned, here?
    I can see the train using the stop-lights, though, in order to stop the cars & trucks.
    Clarify this intersection it's working idea, please.
