This ESC has fought me every step of the way. Although the price is good it wouldn’t update or save any parameters. I’m wondering if this a V2 become multiple people have yet to get theirs to work.
I picked up 2 of these and can't get over the price! Little bit of a learning curve but definitely worth it! Great vid especially showing braking capabilities!
Also if you haven't tried , on the throttle curve , the bottom graph is for reverse so move that to the left or she will bounce going backwards , top one is for forward and should go to the right , when you adjust them you can get stupidly low end control
Just put one in my Gmade, what an awesome ESC for the price, extremely impressed 🙂 As for the comments about setting up just play with the settings until you find what works for you!
Hey thank you I just picked one up! Amizon! Not that you need to but I wonder how customer services I like Javier wing but their customer services one out of one and 10 for me anyway thank you for your time and your videos
ISDT is an excellent company! You see most of there products with Drones. I have several of there Chargers ISDT-D2, and smart charger SC-608, and Discharger FD-100 which are some of the best products out there. So when i finally see a ESC from ISDT, you know it’s quality! K.Bradford
Another thing is I'd imagine it will be bluetooth updatable down the road. The esc is phenomenal imo. The app could use a little work. Now that I know about isdt and how great their esc is. I'm going to buy their chargers as well
I think isdt are on the ball I had firmware update the day I installed this then an app update a week later some complain saying they should not realise a product if it needs updating must be unfinished I say hello Samsung iPhone Windows its part of the world we live in lol
Dude I grabbed one off Amazon like 3 weeks ago and fought with it for hours finally programmed and got installed zip tied wires n all. Then.....bam damn thing wouldn't respond 💀 😒 returned it and grabbed another 1080. Was gonna go in a wraith project I been messing with. However do wonder how it'll handle heat.
Great review! I ordered one week ago just got it in yesterday! Now wish I had ordered another! They’re be hard get for while price better stay where it is!
Are you still running the 8T 550 in this truck in this video? I'm trying to find/figure out what the motor limitations are. I have an ESC70 arriving today.
I have 2 of these one is still in the box and that is where it is going to stay. This is the most tempermental ESC I have ever delt with. Before i go out i check my truck to make sure it works then i load it it up and go hit the trails. Every time I go out with this ESC it stops working once i get to the trail. Yes I know there is a sequence to make the thing work but it doesnt matter what I do I cant get it to work every time and I am fed up with it. This ESC is JUNK!
Active hold is like drag brake when you're on throttle. Without active brake the ESC might hold the motor when totally off throttle (drag brake), but as soon as you pull the trigger it will roll down the hill as fast as gravity takes it. With active brake the ESC will limit the vehicle speed to your applied throttle.
im not sure if its just me but it seems like this video and the last video you uploaded look weird. like the FPS is different or some other camera change. Am i wrong?
That phone app should be available for all esc’s & motors soon I hope. Your phone is always with you so you have access to it at all times. My SCX 24 has the Furitek lizard Bluetooth & I have a app on my phone. You can run the RC & tune & see exactly what it’s doing. I wish I had that on all my RC’s. Nice crawling 🤙
Thanks for pointing this out to us, but you said it's strictly for crawlers it says right in the listing title that it's 4 cars buggies, trucks whatever. Is there a reason that you say it's only for Crawlers? Mine should be here today.
@@clausura9442 have you got one of these yet? I'm going to be doing a review on my channel before long, mine should be here today, feel free to stop by and check it out if you want to.
Interesting. There are only 5 reviews on Amazon, and all but one are poor. But both you and rc reviews rave about it. Wonder if the others were just doing something wrong. I could tell if isn't perfect in the software department, but still looks like a heck of a deal. I'm going to wait a minute to see how everyone fares. But i want one lol.
@@thecandyman9308 absolutely perfectly. I ultimately picked up the brushless hobbywing fusion se, but this esc is incredible for brushed. I switched it to my daughter's rig. Adjust the throttle curve to be flatter around neutral and you get amazing low end modulation/control.
**TECH TIP** It turns out the calibration is touchy on the ESC70.. If the Nuetral wont calibrate(theres a count down) then you can try turning your EXPONENTIAL setting up. For example I have a Futaba 3PK with FASST system and have no issues calibrating it, but.... I wanted to use my Cheap FLYSKY FS-GT3C and could not calibrate it. The Nuetral point wandered all over the place!!! I changed the EXPO to +70% and nuetral stabalized nicely. After that calibration was simple! Good luck to all and I hope this helps! :)
Have a question for you guys with 1080 experience also- how long do these guys take to start up if switch is on, battery plugged in? Anyone run an Arduino off the BEC? Is it stable or noisy So I'm trying to take a 5v fuel pressure analog signal and use it to get PWM fuel pump control. This looks brilliant, especially if I'm able to program wirelessly, improves options for tucking it away. Plan is to use the BEC to power an analog-PWM board to get the signal for the ESC.
Mine does a weird thing like a hiccup if I punch the throttle full speed, let go so it goes into neutral and once I touch the trigger, even with the slightest touch to slow crawl it will jump, like a jitter, hiccup. Have any of you experienced that?
I didn’t do so good with the one I bought. It overheated within minutes. All plastic case. At least it didn’t melt.Had a heck of a time with the blue tooth. Hobbywing 1080 will be my choice! Sorry I was sold on this. No offense but it’ was a bummer all around.
Should do a review on the carisma arc2 esc...its around the same price as the 1080 I believe but it has more adjustability than the 1080. I believe it has 21 adjustable parameters. I cant really find a good in depth review.
Super glad you reviewed this I've had one for about 2 month now I've deactivated that motor active part did not understand it but i may reinable it maybe i will wait untill you tell us how to set it up lol Thank you
the only problem you will and that depend if they fix it is the app, they have some bug issues and those error reset, and remember you pay for esc don't have heat sink, still a possibility they can burn, that why i don't buy it and because i don't need to start over on the setting, that why i stay with 1080 and when you combine with holmes hobby motor not easy to beat
Well I bet hobbywing will step up their game now..the Bluetooth is great! But I’m like u.. I think things will change.. to bad they don’t have them for 4s lol I know what I’d put n the maxx….
Excellent video! I installed one in my RJ Rebelcon. There's a noticeable improvement over the stock ESC (which actually wasn't too bad), and the ability to program via Bluetooth is great. My only issue is there should be a better explanation of what the parameter terminology actually means and maybe some suggested values. Other than that, it's pretty tough to beat for twenty-five bucks!
This is the third video I have watched and yet no one has managed to show how to program it!!! I wonder why Well I have the same one and I have been unable to program in any way shape or form and I'm about to send it back because I can't get anybody to show me how to program it...
@@ExocagedRC My ESC will not come up on the app, My ESC will not go into pairing mode, I have uninstalled and installed two separate times and recalibrated and the result has always resulted in the same as stated of above
not necessarily strictly for crawlers if it has different drive modes, i use Hobbywing 1080 in a tamiya plasma edge 2, they are perfectly reasonable for other cars too
As cool and cost effective as it is; even just reading the comments I rest assured this is not something to leave the 1080 behind for. I love the 1080 for all it's merits, but main thing is I've never killed one; never had any issue but function; exactly as intended. This ain't that chief.
Terrible esc..sending both mine back. Can't shut off with out unplugging..the app always needs updates. Then when you update..it crashes. Would be nice if it actually worked. As it stands now...no where near the HW1080. ESC70 is junk
