    I bought one of the inexpensive transmissions from Amazon and was amazed at how close it was to my Vanquish. I liked how you showed the SAE vs metric deal. I hadn't measured that. It's cool that someone tried to put out a decent one, with the shims and all. Mine was noisy till I ran it for a bit, now it's smooth as ice.

    What alot of people dont realize about the production world is you can only hold the patent for a certain item for a year until it has to be renewed. Most companies dont renew. You know, I’m honestly torn on all imported the “chanquish” parts. Because part of me says IP theft IS THEFT, but also I’m a total cheapskate. Like if they have to reverse engineer it anyway and put the parts into production why not put a little tiny bit more effort in and make a similar product that’s their own design?

    • @ryano8613
      @ryano8613 3 года назад +1

      Don't forget... In some cases they steal from we the consumer because a lot of these expensive parts we buy are the same. They pay pennies and brand it and sell it at 200% margin or MORE. most times when you buy (not always) name brand hi price, you are being ripped off. Soooooo. Who is the thief? They are all marketing scammers and don't care. We should just buy cheapest possible.

      As long as it is different in anyway. Its not considered IP .

    Its like a $20 difference I think. I rather support the American based co. for a better product always. And you are correct with softer metals. I have experienced that my self with china brand parts. They DO wear out quicker. I buy the real stuff.

      The vanquish dig unit is $88. The $60 unit in the video is the entire transmission and dig unit. So its more like a $190 difference if you bought a 3 gear vanquish trans and vanquish dig.

      Vanquish has CNC operations in California. I believe all of there stuff is made in the USA. I don't mind the China sourced stuff, but I wish more people would realize when they straight up steal IP. They scanned the Vanquish unit, swapped hardware to metric, and started popping out copies.

    Personally... things like this are flat out theft.
    Taking the time, thought, and engineering effort of one person and simply copying it to make a quick buck.

      I agree, it is stealing the design. It's shitty and unfortunately unstoppable. That being said I'm sure corners are cut, like materials and tolerances but for a lot of people saving the money plays a huge role in the decision made on which one to purchase especially if the cheaper version works well. I myself buy cheaper beadlocks ( treal brand ). None of them are clones of vanquish products that i own And I have had zero issues using them.

    • @TheNamesArif

      If you got no issues with money, go ahead and buy the original. It's not really on you as a customer and vanquish has every right to sue that company

    • @blindj

      @@HighhScore precision machining cost money and so does design work. I thought some 3D printed parts were ridiculous until I started designing some of my own parts. Designing at least for me in CAD is a skill that I thought would be much easier. I am good with computers however when I started playing around in CAD I realized why design work is so expensive it takes a lot of time. That being said I can't afford vanquish parts all the time. I don't like spending crazy money on beadlock wheels when I can get something that works just as well for 1/3 the price. If no one purchased the bank wish products they would rethink their pricing I assume but they have a die-hard fan group that are willing to pay whatever they ask I'm just not part of that fan group.
