With so much excess material to tack the front, do you ever salvage some of that to do small pieces like mirrors, headlights, emblems, etc. immediately after?

Definitely, when needed. You'll need to cut that extra off the bulk piece before you pull the release liner (backing) off.
Then, sometimes, like this, I don't bother saving the material. This is for a few reasons. You don't want to cut your hold piece too small on accident. You need some extra material in order to tack those 4 corners down. Or, like in my case, you have plenty of extra scraps already. 😁👍🏻
Also, once you have exposed the adhisive and installed a piece, I would try saving any of the extra. There is too much risk of contamination or adhisive damage.

@@EncorePPFtint gotcha, I was speaking of the excess pieces you're trimming off after insta. Film works out to what, $4~8/sq ft depending on brand? Between bulking a hood and bumper you could easily be using an extra ~5 sq ft.

@dcastro5551 With some cars, you can save more material. Sometimes it's more work than it's worth. We charge enough for waste. 👍🏻
