    Barrel Rolls are one of the more uncommon ways to backflip. The angles of your jump and landing make stomping this one consistently a little difficult. With that said, it's a good way to start getting more comfortable going upside down and it's the perfect stepping stone for tricks like the Backside Rodeo 540.

    Can confirm barrel roll backies take a stupid amount more effort and flip knowledge than a wild cat

    I'm surprised these are so uncommon, considering it's literally a standard trampoline backflip on a sb. Seems like the most intuitive flip to learn first

      really depends on the person. I certainly feel more intuitively craving the wildcat backflip as it is just continuing your momentum, whereas this type of backflip you are throwing your body in a completely different direction while moving forward.

      This is what I thought. I can backflip flat ground so a barrel roll rotation would come more naturally. I guess the hardest bit is the landing

    I wish RUclips existed when I was younger. I beat myself just learning 3's with no instruction.

      I am not an advanced snowboarder but did it onto a air bag in Switzerland.
      I plan doing it into powder next year.
      For me it is easier then a wildcat because i cant sideflip but backflip.

    If I’m VERY confident backflipping on a trap (without a trap board Bc I don’t have one) should I huck it?

    What's the best / easiest grab to add?

    • @SnowboardAddiction
      @SnowboardAddiction  Год назад

      if you are doing a true barrel roll its best to not grab at all. But if its more wild cat then indie for sure!

    what do you call when your going straight, then suddenly shift left, making the board do a 90° then do a barrel roll like that 😂. I accidentally did it in Steep (a game) off a snow ramp-like area and went over a rooftop

    I really dont like that yall would teach these with the neck sooo exposed as if its the "right" way to do them. I teach flipping on the trampoline primarily and I would never tell a kid to lead their flip with their head like it is shown in this video. Keeping the head tucked chin to chest is 100% always going to be the safer option. When the chin is tucked inward as they watch their landing on the take off, this will allow for an all around smoother rotation, allowing for the head to be the last thing to be thrown into the flip. When the head is the last thing to come around you have way more control over your flip anyways, there is really no upside to flipping like this, unless you are trying to gain sympathy by sending yourself to the hospital.
    Please, Please, Please stop teaching any flip this way as I had a friend break his neck by trying to do a backflip in this fashion.
    (Also chin to chest when you flip looks soooo much sicker)
