Thanks Mikey! Saving this. I was looking for a Ruana pattern that didn’t have a seam and you delivered. You are definitely one of my favorite go tos when searching for something crochet specific.
Thank you so much for the tutorial, I am a Michael's team member and almost every time a new yarn comes in I like to try it out, the tutorial made me so happy, mine is finally finished and I love it! Thanks again
Dear Mikey my name is Florence and I was listening to your tutorial for you was talking to people and the general was giving you negative comments I think you are very wonderful person I think that you have a blessing and a wonderful talent that was given to you by God I I hate when people try to put people down because it's happened to me several times in my life and I'm a straight woman but only you know your own heart and God knows your heart so you take care keep your head up stay strong and crochet a lot of good things
Just got my yarn for this project the other day Have just started to finish the left side and fringe then will be done Thank you so much for your great tutorials Just love all that you do
I bought the yarn, get the pattern and love this yarn! I've reordered the yarn twice. Thank you for this wonderful pattern Mikey and the Ruana, I can't say enough about it and have sent out this link to all my friends that crochet - it's gorgeous yarn! Thank you so much, great tutorial and easy to follow.
I like your videos, you're easily understood and explain patterns etc really well. Keep it up! I made one of my favorite toddler's dress from your video . . .
Just adding I love this tutorial, it helped the patterns I've been reading more understandable. So thank you! Also, instead of a slip stitch alternating with the HDC, I'm trying single crochet alternating but still doing the slip stitch at the beginning. I can't find my M hook and have been sick so instead of waiting or going out and buying a new hook right now, it's easier to use SC. So far it's still working just as well. (Probably because SC isn't a drastic change from slip stitch) Excited to keep challenging myself! I'm currently using a K hook. Two sizes down from what's needed but not too smaller a hook, hopefully!
Hi Thank you for responding so fast! I am in Sweden. and the international link do not work for me. but I got the Canadian link to work so I could get my paws on the pattern ! Thank you for all your great videos ! they are awesome !
I ended up frogging this project. I had to use caron chunky cakes because Sprinkle is discontinue. My end stitch was not the same as the beginning (99 chains). Bottomline it looked horrible after row 2.
I am in a wheelchair, and I need to have a SHORT BACK (to just under my armpits) Ruana. Would this be a problem? The front panels could be longer so that I could cross them over my front and over my shoulders though. Please advise.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Thanks for your reply, but having it shorter in the back wouldn't cause the garment to "pull forward" because of the extra weight in the front with long front panels? I don't want to have to be pushing it back all the time.
Hi, awesome pattern, the shape neck count isn't right though for one stitch... The ch2 doesn't count as a HDC... So it's not 36+2 it's 36+1, which makes sense since the other side says 37 sts too... each side should have 37 stitches and the neck should have 11 stitches free (in XS, of course, the same applies to other sizes).
Hello Mikey? I have a question, I'm still working on my Ruana but my question is how long is the back part when I am making an XL? The pattern says 28" and I'm at 29", that doesn't even pass the back of my back because I want my Ruana to start at my knee and then go to my shoulder. Can you tell me how to figure that out? Thank you very much. I love all of your tutorials.
This is so pretty. I am from Colombia and we use Ruana's during the winter. I know live in Miami and would love to crochet one, however, do you have any other suggestions on yarn I can use that is not wool?
Ayleen Pereyra Try Hobby Lobby. They have the best selection of Cotton yarns for garments available anywhere and they actually feel silky. You would have to use 2 or 3 strands to get the same weight, but it would make for a much more practical garment for Miami than anything acrylic or wool.
Maybe it's my tension but I am about to use my 7th cake. Also I am 4'11" and petite in frame so this is really big for me. By some rough measurements, I should reduce the length by at least 7 inches. I don't know about the width but I may have to chain until ??? How would I adjust the pattern or should I go down to an L hook or even K?
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I’m doing it wrong somewhere. You said that what ever I start with, I should end with the same stitch. Well, it’s not coming out like that. I start with the half double and end with the slip stitch. What am I doing wrong? I need help
I'm pretty sure when I first saw this pattern it called for a size L hook so I went searching high and low to find one. Now this pattern shows a size N hook. Am I seeing things wrong here?
The pattern you are showing in this video is NOT the pattern on line at the link. Where is the one you are holding? I want the one with the different colors and references those colors for the sizes. Please please respond. Thank you.
Love this! This morning, though, there is not enough coffee in the world. I am having a Dickens of a time trying to find info on the Caron Sprinkle Cakes. Can you please tell me what the yardage is? I found some information on your site, and nothing anywhere else. Thanks!
Cat Gaines I know, I saw them last week but didn't get a chance to really look at them. Looking on their website resulted in no info. You know, I love shopping there, but I can't stand their website. I have to browse through pages to find what I want, which takes up a lot of time, and their search feature leaves much to be desired. 😕
Michaels.com or Michaels.ca has more information. So do we... If you search Caron Sprinkle Cakes on our website. thecrochetcrowd.com/caron-sprinkle-cakes-yarn/

Thank you so much Mikey! Great tutorial, as always. I can't wait to make this!

This looks amazing! It would be super warm to wear 🙂
with no seams and the wind blowing it around???

Es hermoso 😍,!

Found the yarn finally - Michael's online.
I want to make sure I understand this correctly. If we are making the size large/xlarge would we do the Text pat to 40'' or still 28''?
Could I use size 5 weighted yarn?
where i can buy the book?
En español porfa☹😳🇨🇱 está genial el tejido👍🤗
I'd like measurements so I can adjust for yarns. Width for the back and then width of front panels. Width of the neck space.
I am in a wheelchair, and I need to have a SHORT BACK (to just under my armpits) Ruana. Would this be a problem? The front panels could be longer so that I could cross them over my front and over my shoulders though. Please advise.
You can always adjust the length of the ruana to be short in the back.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Thanks for your reply, but having it shorter in the back wouldn't cause the garment to "pull forward" because of the extra weight in the front with long front panels? I don't want to have to be pushing it back all the time.

Thank you for your insight Sofia. It's really helpful advice.
What is garter stitch in knitting
Anybody made this with less bulky yarn? I would love to get some stitch counts!

Ayleen Pereyra lion brand yarn has a #6 size six yarn, but I forgot the name.

What type of yarn did u use?

I see the weight is 6 can you use a 4 in place of the 6

You should be starting with a slip stitch and ending your row with hdc
Can’t get pattern for this one
Here's a direct link: www.yarnspirations.com/products/caron-crochet-ruana?Caron_Crochet_Ruana&Influencer_TCC.
Enjoy your day.
This looks like fun, but I couldn't find the yarn.
Go online to Michaels.com You can order it there

Did you make it? Using the N hook? Just curious, how did it come out?
Where did you get the printed pattern? Thanks for responding.
I made it with a N/10mm cam out great measurements were spot on I used almost 6 cakes though
I have the yarn and am starting this tomorrow, thanks cause I have an "N" size hook. Was it easy?

Nancy-Jo Nunez I can't find it on their website, either
Can’t get written pattern , it doesn’t open pls check as I want to start one
It's Michaels.com if you want to search there... I need to circle back and check the link.
The international link for the pattern does not work. :-(
Let me check... I cannot access the INT'l LINK myself as I am Canadian... but I will ask a friend in the USA to check.
Friend says it's working just fine. I'm unsure where you the world you are. Try the Canadian Link to see if it works.

Each ball is 204 yd. / 186 m.
So the project uses 1020 yards / 930 meters - 1224 yd/ 1116 meters.

You should be able to order it online from Michaels. Good luck!
Have you tried ordering them on line? That's how I bought mine, it arrived today.
I don't do online ordering. No dc cc or bank
