This is the first crocheting project I've ever attempted, and completed, and I'm so impressed with myself! Thank you for your clear, easy to follow instructions. My poncho is beautiful 😁
Just finished your poncho pattern last night using Lion Brand Tweed Stripes in color Knock on Wood. It came out so beautiful. Your pattern is so easy to follow and works up quickly. It's by far my favorite poncho pattern. And....I wore it to coffee at my friend's house this morning and I got a commission for a Christmas gift! Thank you for this lovely pattern!
This is gorgeous . Before I started I wanted to familiarize myself well so I watched the video quite a few times. Great teacher. I am half way and love the ease of it. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video, it is really educational! Your explanations and camera position are excellent. I also appreciated how you repeat and go back to show again each movement. I am a beginner, and at first you need to see things several times to understand and get the idea. I also liked it that you are not in a hurry.
Your video just popped up on my screen, I love your poncho pattern..thank you for making it easy to follow with your video and free pattern description. Hello from Jakarta, Indonesia.
I really enjoy your tutorial videos, your a great instructor, your clear and always show the detail of the stitch. I've made a few items from your videos, thank you again ❤
This is beautiful and such a great tutorial! Thank you for sharing! Would you mind sharing how to add the ties (for a bow) to the poncho like on the smaller blue one at the beginning of the video please?
Make a long chain. Lace the chain around the neck, going in and out a little below the sc row. Make 2 pom-poms and tie it onto the edges of the chain tie. Trim the remaining tail to match the length of the pom pom strands.
One of the best poncho tutorial , I have seen. Making a small version is a great idea as I can actually see what your doing when you’re stitching the sides . Great teaching style . I’m going to try to make one . Subscribing now 👍🏾👍🏾
Great tutorial. Thank you. I was wondering if I use a finer yarn with 4mm hook and work 2XL/3XL will it turn out ok or the poncho will flatten out due the thinner yarn.
Hi and thank you for this pattern my gran knitted me a Poncho when I was young but It was passed here there and everywhere so now it's nowhere to be found The pattern is very similar so I am hoping I will be able to do it. I have got mixed up the pattern doesn't give how many inches to do for bigger sizes just measurement. I am confused so will watch it all the way through so I am able to find the number i need. Thank you for this xxxx
Yardage Note: Each skein of Caron Cakes yarn includes 383 yards. S/M: I used up 2 full cakes of Caron cakes and a few more yards to add the scallop edging. L/XL: 3 cakes of Caron Cakes yarn. 2XL/3XL: 3-1/2 skeins of Caron Cakes yarn
thank you. You are a very good, clear teacher. Im not using Carin cakes but another #4 worsted weight yarn. How many rows in total? I need to know when to change my yarn color. Thanks
I love this pattern! When I grabbed the Caron yarn, I grabbed the skinny cakes with a 3 weight instead by accident. How would that differ in stitch count for a L/XL pattern? Or would I just make sure my measurements are the same as the pattern by adding rows? Thank you so much!
Hi. I thought of crocheting a ponchu. Was watching ur video. You explain very clearly. I started doing one. But wrongly I took 3 mm hook. My work is half way. Wat can be made. Please suggest
Hello! I’m a newbie and trying to follow the pattern from your blog and rewatching this vid several times but i cant seem to get it right. The width of my back panel is not the same with the width of my front so i kept on repeating it but the back part is really smaller in width. I dunno what to do :(
@@crochetdreamz yes i did measure it several times to make sure i’m following correctly. Unfortunately i had to frog the whole thing coz it wont really match. Hopefully this time i’ll get it correctly. Thank you for your response, highly appreciated❤️
This is sooo great. I just bought the yarn and I am very anxious to start this project. You chain 142 for a S/M size but could you tell me how many would you chain for a L size, please?
Please help I made the first section 16 inches. The second part I made several different sizes, first 26 inches and then 28 inches. Neither was correct, because the neck hole is uneven. I’m going a bit crazy here. Am I to measure the second section from where I start on the first part or measure from the bottom. Ugh. I hope someone reads this….. Thanks.

Hi there, I bought two skeins of Caron Cake yarn several months ago but it is not a Category #4 yarn it is a thicker Category #5 yarn considered a chunky yarn. In your pattern instructions a #4 yarn is what is suggested to use to make the Poncho with an I hook or 5.5 hook. Since I already have two #5 skeins of Caron yarn should I go up a size on the hook and use a J hook or should just use an I (5.5) hook like stated in your instructions?
Hello! Sorry to bother you, but how many grams would the two skeins be? And for what type of needle would it be recommended? Where I live the measurements you give are not used, so I'm a little confused.
Hi. I am struggling with the measurements. I cast on the correct amount of 142 stitches, worked the 16in but have 15 3 chain loops on back panel foundation row instead of 19 and my rectangle measures 26in instead of 28 across, not sure why as I have followed instructions correctly. Will this matter to the end result, can I continue as is?
Hello, any suggestions on how I could add a cowl neck of some sort to it? I was thinking of single crochet around the neck for several rounds but that might just sound good in theory. ??? I’m making it for my toddler niece for warmth in her car seat.

Yes, I feel thinner yarn may not hold the shape well.

Yardage

L/XL: 3 cakes of Caron Cakes yarn.

thank you. You are a very good, clear teacher. Im not using Carin cakes but another #4 worsted weight yarn. How many rows in total? I need to know when to change my yarn color. Thanks
That entirely depends on how you want the stripes to look.

You can if you want to

Just make sure the measurements are the same as my pattern.
Do you think I could use cotton yarn to make this? It’s Yarn Bee Sugarwheel cotton solids.
Yes, absolutely. As long as it is the same gauge, you should be fine.
Amazing. Thx
Glad you like it!
