I don't think this is true! the version at the end of the movie is different than the official one
@@yneh9128 she meant her demo VOCAL take was all that was ever recorded....producing the instrumental behind it (with the orchestra, etc) THAT was done separately and maybe more than once....she talks about this anecdote in her autobiography too, she was sick the day they pitched the song to her, but her husband insisted she sing the song at least once, even just a rough demo vocal, and so she did :)
@Christina Aguilera TV but all versions are exactly the same except the last note which is longer in one. They could have cut the note for her album version. It doesn't really mean that she re sang it
It’s 100% true! The vocals on the Titanic version were kept basically raw, but the producers on her album added layers of vocal effects (to match the rest of the album) and trimmed the last note. I always thought the soundtrack version was more intimate. The very, very rough demo is on RUclips. You should look it up!
KevenTalks Right?!? One take! And yes, the producers just clipped the last note. She “climbs” in the soundtrack version, but it is sustained in the radio version. It’s the same take, the same vocal, just edited differently. She sang the song ONE time.
Celine is a pure class act.

You can really see how humble she is. It's so refreshing! Mariah, take some notes.
Mariah is also very humble. She only shades the people who come after her. And her diva act is just for fun. She is a very straightforward person rather. Plus, Mariah is more talented than Celine. In vocal prowess they might be on more or less same level. But Mariah writes her songs and co-produces them. She is a complete musician unlike Celine and Whitney who only have the vocals.
@@milokors9261 and Celine is VERY HUMBLE about not being able to write her own songs. She's very outspoken about it. Mariah, well, she thinks that she's still as talented as her prime days. She even blamed different people for her NYE mishap! And no, she's bitchy and shady and diva in a bad way. She came after JLo because of speculations. JLo never even bothered to mention her name before the infamous "I don't know her" mess.
Countrycowboy08 JLo stole Mariah’s songs with help of Tommy Mottola. Of course Mariah will always hate her. Tommy and JLo were trying to sabotage Mariah’s career in 2001. While Mariah only threw a shade at her. Mariah shows great love and respect for people who are good. But if someone hurts her she gives it back to them.
Celine is a very gentle and sweet kind of person, while Mariah is very honest and outspoken. Both are good in their own ways. In her earlier years she was also very gentle but her life experiences made her outspoken. Celine had a very loving husband, while Mariah’s husband Tommy abused her in all ways and later cheated on her with JLo and tried to sabotage her career. Both had opposite experiences of marriage.
And obviously, Mariah still won’t have the same voice as she did in 1990s. She had the problem of nodules since childhood and this problem will only get worse with age. But she has nothing left to prove. Americans need to respect a living legend like her. She is cherished by the world and is the pride of USA. But because of all hate she gets she doesn’t feel comfortable performing in her own country anymore. Watch her performances in China in 2019, her voice is in such a good shape and she feels so comfortable and valued. We Asians love her very much and would pay millions for her performances. Hope she does more shows here in Asia where people value and respect her.

Yes it was a demo.
She even had an espresso right before recording it which caused the vibrato you hear in her voice at "Faaaaaar" and "Oooooonce mooooooore". I read that in her biography.
Céline doesn't drink anything except water prior to recording her songs, and the fact that she had coffee that day (which irritates the vocal chords) shows that she hadn't taken the whole recording session seriously.

technically she recorded my heart will go on twice. theres the version on her album lets talk about love and the version on the titanic soundtrack. they sound almost the same but theyre two different takes/recordings. im guessing she recorded the longer titanic version first and that was the demo.

Celine always came off snobish. She has that sarcastic attitude and she always seems to be pissed when someone tries to make her laugh. The fame has gone to her head. She literally dedicated that song to her late husband. But yet it didn’t “appeal” to her. She lies a lot. She’s got interviews stating the opposite. That movie is what really brought her fame. Yes, she’s talented, but- that movie made her.

Since James Honer's death I've read that he only ever had Celine Dion in mind when he was composing the music. This is not true. Horner always wanted Norwegian singer, Sissel Kyrkjebø to sing the soundtrack to Titanic because he knew her voice was superior. The film's producers wanted Dion because her name was more familiar to audiences in America. However Sissel did sing most of Titanic's score and Horner chose Sissel to perform "My Heart Will Go On" on both world premiers of Titanic 3D (2012) and Titanic Live (2015)
