Barbra addressed that moment and explained it in the interview she did with Barbara Walters and her husband James Brolin. She did not know celine was up next to sing and went to the restroom and missed it. She did not purposely leave.

Barbra actually explained in an interview that is available on YT what happened that night. There was no information who was singing when. The show was 4 hours long and at some point, she went to the toilet and this is when Celine sang the song. Barbra said she really wanted to be in the audience during the performance because in her opinion it would have been great to be next to her husband while Celine was singing: I've finally found someone... Of course, tabloids wrote that Streisand on purpose left the room.
Barbra said in a video with Celine when they filmed their duet that she got up to go to the bathroom not knowing when Celine would sing because the program didn't list the performers/presenters in order. It wasn't intentional.
Celine seems more down to earth than most.. Love her presence.

I have watched Streisand answer this question in interviews before. She stated that she was never told the order of when Celine was going to appear, and Babs really had to go pee. Had she known she was going to miss it she wouldn't have left. She thought it would have been wonderful for her to be there watching Celine sing her song while sitting in audience with her new husband. It was in a interview, but I would have to dig deep to find it.

That's pretty awesome they have kept so much over the year. I wished I had kept a few special pieces of clothing over the years. Different when you have the room and the money to store it properly. Also, I feel like we, less well off ppl, have been conditioned to "decluttered", "donate it", if you're not wearing it anymore. Dwight Yoakam kept his "fancy" jackets from his early years of preforming. He then had some of them altered to gift to his present day bandmates to wear on stage. How cool is that.

This interview seems to contradict what she said in a prior interview. There's even a video where Barbra explained to her what had happened, The song wasn't listed in the program.She had to go to the bathroom and she was really upset about it when she came back and the song had already been sung. Celine even made a comment that in a way she was glad she was in the bathroom because it would have made her too nervous. And here she appears to pretend she didn't know what happened with the bathroom incident? I don't know, seems shady and not honest to me.
Barbra thought its going to be commercial break, that's why she left to loo. She regret it she wasn't there, as she wanted Celine to sing "I Finally Found Someone" while she would me smooching with her (then) soon to be husband James Brolin in the audience. She was gutted she missed that opportunity. One would expect Celine to know this (eyeroll)
