70 years old, and I would love to have a "tedious" job, part time, polishing shoes, removing soles and heels, removing stitches, applying glue, reattaching welts, cleaning uppers, etc. Looks like a fun, but exacting, job to me. Used some of those fine old machines in uncle's shoe business. It's okay! End of Nov will be here too soon. In my youth (20s), I threw away shell cordovan and Florsheim Imperials, because they were worn and dirty, and because...well...I must have been really dumb! Beautiful work on this pair..

My condolences. My late father had a pretty severe case of psoriasis, and it bothered him much of his life. He rarely went swimming, or wore shorts. People who don't understand the nature of the disease would stare at him, not realizing that it's not contagious, and is an auto-immune disease. Sorry you have it, Steve.
You never cease to amaze me with your talent, knowledge and creativity in dealing with footwear!

I am sorry your dad and brother suffered this way. I had this in high school and I just told people one of 2 thing it’s the creeping crud or it’s cancer, really it none of their business anyway. What I did find out was swimming and sunshine made the itching go away and swimming in the ocean gave me lots of relief and made the area even look better. I never hide it the area.

The mens shoes look very unfortunate, I can't wait to see how they look once you have finished. I've watched the restoration of the LV draw string--it was awesome and could not believe the transformation. You could tell when the lady saw the finished bag, think she had tears in her eyes. I have a LV bag from 1988, but it is still good. I can't believe how much the prices have gone up on a new bag. I watched a LV video of the making, and they said the products are a 300% markup, and if they have excessive inventory it gets burned. Sad and wasteful. Your customer will be amazed at how you brought his shoes back from the grave. WOW you nailed it Steve.

I love your videos bedo I also like to watch Brian the boot maker but one things I don't like about his videos is that he has music playing the whole time but what I love about your video's is that I can actually hear the work being done and the way you talk to your audience like we're old friends you know.

An autoimmune disease is rarely helped by stress. Having autoimmune diseases myself and looking like I am in good shape is hard for people who don't know me to reconcile. People, of course, are the biggest stressors in life. Can't get away from it. But it all boils down to: Let's Continue!

*Another fine job there Steve!!* You make me chuckle everytime you're unable to locate the "BEFORE" photos... 🤣😁😂 I suggested that you should create a folder called BEFORE on your phone and/or computer, take a pic 'before the project'... and put it there. 😜 Yeah...I have psoriasis too all my life, flare ups, etc. Growing up, my psoriasis was mostly around my neck & knees. Kids called "Turtle Neck", but my parents were always encouraging me to not let those name bashings bother me. By my teens, my neck cleared up! I'm in my 60's now, with most flares on hands & arms, especially when I'm stressed...lol
That catch phrase -- *"It is what it is"* pretty much sums up what I tell people who stare at my skin condition.
    *c'est la vie!* ...LET'S CONTINUE ➡️

Ah yes, I had some trees to cut down recently, and I hired a pro. I could have been that guy who tried it himself, but it just isn't worth it! Instead, I elected to just clean up the mess myself...which probably was a bad deal considering the time it takes me vs the time it takes a pro. There's nothing like an experienced crew with the right set of tools!

Employees can be valuable but you can’t expect them to be you. Good video!

Crickets.....About 80% will lay eggs and then die. The eggs overwinter and hatch in spring.....about 15% will overwinter as nymphs in the soil. About 5% will overwinter as adults in a dormant state. Where you are, the soil temperature is about 54° six to eight inches down. They burrow down to that layer.

About employees who do not progress; they need a different job because their heart isn't in the present one. Whatever happened, it was probably for the best for both of you, particularly your employee because he is just wasting his time. It's hard to say goodbye after four years but sometimes the only thing better would be saying goodbye after three. If you lose a valued employee every three years you are doing just fine. Cheers!

@@BedosLeatherworksLLC I already do. I'm in the AEE Facebook group too. I have a pair of walnut colored single monk straps that I had re-soled locally last spring. I think they did an okay job but I wasn't too impressed. Once I get sufficient use out of them I think I'll send them to you. I have used polish to patina the toes. They look okay. I would like to see what a real professional could do with them.

You can use NIVEA on your elbow on regular basis and look or feel better.
