@@mokou8851 It's a specific thing with German censorship laws. Games haven't been legally viewed as art there for a long time so the representation of nazi iconography wasn't seen defensible as an artistic choice. It just makes things easier for Activision to sell their games in a global market if they remove the nazi iconography, which is what we saw in the BO3 remasters. Plus, the zombies aren't even really nazis at this point. After Kino most of the zombies in most of the maps weren't Nazis

I loved Five better than Kino because of the location and setting also because it looked like something like that could have happened in real life but was swept under a rug to not cause panic.

Five somehow manages to be amazing despite its flaws, yet they are irrefutable. Kinda like how Halo 2 is one of many’s favorite Halo games despite its bullshit hard campaign. Or why people love Dark Souls despite the rage it gives them, or even why people keep playing songs in Guitar Hero they know they can’t pass
“Five” was fucking amazing. A good amount of challenge, not too hard but hard enough to take it seriously. The wonder weapon wasn’t overpowered but was good enough to use in late rounds. The boss wasn’t too hard but again, hard enough to take him seriously. It was great

Kino der toten was originally planned for a cancelled 4th DLC for world at war and bo1 would just have “five” which is why kino is a very WAW esqe kind of map
They did heavily improve on the graphics for putting it in bo1 but the original concept was there

One moment while playing this map stuck with me for so many years. I was playing with my friend, and we were on the starting floor, running from zombies into the elevator. We got into the elevator but I was injured, and we were spamming the button to start the elevator. The zombies were right behind us, and as the elevator doors started closing, one of the zombies got right in front of the elevator and his hand went between the elevator doors, making it look like he reached into the elevator as a last ditch effort before the doors closed. Then the zombie seemed to have died and we watched his hand fall off. It was such a cool moment because it was unscripted and it looked like something out of a movie where the protagonists escape just the last second as one of their enemies just barely manages to kill them.
I feel like this was such a core moment and memory in your life, I’m sure 3 years after your comment you still remember. Love these moments

I always saw Five as the expert zombie player’s starting map.
Lots of places to train and camp, but hoh boy, is it one of the single most difficult maps to survive in, even in good areas.
People remember the catwalk in Der Reise. For me, it was the elevator in Five. The elevator in Five is so fun.
I don’t think this map is particularly iconic or perfect, but the style and approach this map took makes it my personal favorite.
Same I loved this map me and my friend use to do stay in lift the whole game challenge and it didn’t go well xD
Five was a childhood favorite of mine to this day I still consider it q unique map its challenging and I appreciate challenging maps zns, tranzit, verruckt so many but five was the beginning of challenge other than verruckt and cotd and shangri la I still play this map with the boys and the characters 3rd favorite crew of all with cotd right behind them with primis in front while ultimis are the king of crews but this is a amazing crew and the winters howl is not good but fun and training is pretty easy lab war room even the pap room I made plausible for training but five just holds a special place in my heart and I cherish it

Five does have a training room BTW.
Zombies mode by design gives the player two ways to survive high rounds depending on the map, either training or camping.

I genuinely loved this map when I first played it. I actually think it was one of the first Zombies maps I played and I have a lot of nostalgia for it, not to mention the absolutely crazy intro has me in-between hyped and laughing each time, because it's just so ridiculous. it also spawned an interest in me to learn more about history, which I still plan on eventually getting around to. so yeah, I think I'm the one person who actually loves Five (it may even be my favorite Zombies map)
Five is solid. Also Tim before you bash tranzit, remember that some good came out of that map. If it weren't for tranzit, we wouldn't have double tap 2.0, buildables, or the shield.
Jozombies115 a lot of the zombies community don’t know this but “Five” was the first map to include buildables, the traps in the conference room have to be built
Tranzit is terrible but at least for me, it's a iconic map. When i think of bo2, the first thing that appear in my mind is tranzit. I used to play alot and i had alot of fun.

If you've ever played with me on Five, the bottom laboratory is my favorite spot to train in. Very few people have seen me do this, but you can actually jump crouch through the windows and manipulate the zombies rng to train them in a really unique way. If I knew how to stream and record my gameplay I'd show my route of how I jump from window to window. Treyarch I believe made these windows were intended to dolphin dive through, but you can simply jump crouch through them. I've never seen anyone do this fun, unique, and challenging strat besides me. Farthest I made using this strat solo was round 40 ish
No way Five was forgotten, one of the most memorable with the doctor, the portals and lets not forget the easter egg song with the phones. Their was endless glitches and was just overall challenging and really fun!

Man, Five became one of my favorite maps over time. The best moment of this map is timing the Easter egg song along with a death machine and the Thief. Good times

Dude your map breakdowns are a God send. I used to be so in love with CoD zombies when I was a teen when all the major maps like this were coming out. I remember me and my best friend trying to figure out the storyline and making theories about the series. I had basically forgotten about CoD zombies but your channel brought back so many fond memories. Thanks

I remember me and my friend both camping in the elevator on the top floor and during the first thief round I told him to equip his bad weapon so he wouldn't have a good weapon removed forever (not really but you get what i mean) and we were both screaming as he stole my M1911.
There will be no other feeling than camping the big elevators with the boys

When I was getting into Zombies I actually used to prefer Five over Kino for awhile, overall it’s a good map but like Tim said it was too challenging for the causal crowd that was the majority of the Zombies community back then

It would have been great if the guns presented to you didn't burn through ammo too fast for you to even get points on a daily basis, buys a gun, but by the end of the round, I'm like "I need to buy these doors to live, BUT WAIT, MY GUN IS EMPTY AGAIN." Either way, I always die, my farthest round ever being eleven.

Me and my buddies got our highest round score on five. Camp the defcon room 2 on windows, 2 in the door way
Five is the most nostalgic zombies map for me. It was when everything was simpler. This map is where i learned about the music easter eggs, my friend showing me that for the first time blew my mind. The table glitch that my dad showed me... All of it. It was by far the hardest and i dont think I've ever made it past round 20, but something made it so replayable. The characters were unique and had some of the best quotes ever. "I need some beans for the chowder here" is the best quote from any zombies character 😂 being a 9 year old at the time this map, this game, was amazing. Nothing will ever be able to replicate this. I just wish there was a way ro realize you were in the good ole days while you were experiencing them.
This map holds a special place in my heart. The day after I attended the midnight release of BO1 my house burned down and I spent two months living with my aunt who didn't have home internet. I was stuck playing offline and spent countless hours trying to figure out the best strats for this map.
Time surely does fly.
5:35 Actually, the four crew members all died. In Revelations it's revealed that Macnamera took refuge in a janitors closet after JFK, Castro and Nixon all were killed and eaten by the zombies. He reports that it is his final note and inevitably awaits his demise to die alongside the others. :(
That’s the alternative ending the original is that they all survived

I think the problem with 5 is that they worked off the setting of a big government facility too well.
Super tight and cramped, nooks and crannies everywhere and generally easy to get yourself lost
Once your done with all the treyarch maps could you possibly do iw or ww2 zombies I think it's a good idea because alot of people don't know to much about them and it would a learning experience

IW zombies had the card system which is the same as gobblegums. They didn't have a unique perk system ripped straight out of treyarch. The point system was stolen and also the door system and pack a punch.

Classified being a remaster of five is like saying blood of the dead is a remaster. It’s not, I would’ve took the five remake and the mob of the dead remake but they had to do shit for their petty lore.

Kino stopped working for me on my copy, so this map is burned into my memory :P
I’ve heard of similar problems with other Treyarch games actually. My have a friend who’s copy of Bo2 was tainted somehow because it didn’t let you get past the first mission in the campaign and multiplayer completely crashed when you tried to load it so Zombies was the only thing that we could play.... on BOTH of our 360’s. He eventually got a new copy but damn that worked 100% but damn that was weird. He also had the Kino lockdown problem you had and it also happened on both our 360s. Again he got a new copy but that’s a weird ass problem.
BO1 had the perfect mix of zombies maps. Want an easy map? Play Kino. Want a dumb fun way to play? Dead Ops. Want a super difficult map? Five.
Personally, I prefer Classified over Five due to the updates graphics (although the map could be brighter) and better guns, but I respect the OG for what it is. I'm glad this map was made.
