Its weird when you think about it. Tranzit literally the most open and expansive map in zombies history and yet you feel so trapped and confined whereas on the other hand you have buried where you are quiet literally trapped underground in a confined cavern and yet somehow feeling a greater sense of freedom. Buried is my all time favorite map, I love the music, Ray Gun Mark 2, Making My Way Through The Witches House With Friends. There’s a sort of nostalgic feeling I get when I play buried because I remember when my friend would always come over after school and we would play buried for hours trying to even make it to Pack a Punch.
My friend was diagnosed with cancer and I lost him in 2017, so whenever I play buried or watch videos about it, it reminds me of him.

Hella, I remember split screening this till like 2:00 in the morning camping jug with tramplesteems and all that just for high rounds. Wake up at 7:00 for my cross country camp. Friend would stay and just play mp alone or go home. We’d meet back at like 3:00 and repeat the process. Simpler times indeed.

I have literally never heard anyone say buried is a shitty map. In fact I always hear people say it's within the best maps. And it isn't underrated , everyone knows buried and most black ops 2 players who bought maps bought buried.
I know a few elitists who say that Buried is trash because its too easy and they only bought it for the Mark 2. Sad shit man.
Its heavy underrated and its always cause "map easy" which sucks. Buried is at least a top 10 map its just so good and so replayable

@j schenn If you're any good at training you should be able to train in buried, front of the witch's house, main part where the box is and the bar where the guillotine is. Not saying you aren't entitled to your own opinion, but saying that you can't train on buried just isn't true.

Buried was a map that was simple and felt relaxed, yet still had tons of different things you could do that weren’t required. This characteristic about the map is something you don’t find on other maps like Mob of the Dead or Origins, making them not ‘noob friendly’. A few examples of this are drawing wall weapons, crafting the different buildables, having Leeroy break all the barriers to gain access to other parts of the map, feeding Leeroy candy to defend you or carry a crawler like a baby, or getting all of the perks using the witches.
Though Buried was extremely easy being that you could get set up with all perks, craftables, and pack-a-punch on round one, you cannot deny that it was a masterpiece. The multitude of new ideas that were introduced in Buried like the Raygun 2” or Vulture aid just make the map so unique and even game changing for future maps aswell.
It was cool to see others like myself reminiscing about playing Buried when we were younger.
When me and the boys were full of energy we went on Origins/Mob of the dead. We hopped on Buried to chill anc have fun fast with the bank and Leroy.

Man, I take this to a personal level. I was to young for the Bo1 and WaW players but to old for the Bo3 and Bo4 players, first map I bought; played it with my cousin and my siblings now they all got life’s and I’m stuck here thinking about my past which oddly was only seven years ago.
Definitely one of the better maps on BO2. always liked it just because it was plain fun. Not too complicated, not too simple.
It's a very relaxed experience. If you just want to chew through mobs of undead without too much of a hassle, something you can shoot the shit with some friends with regardless of how good they are, then it's great.
"Too complicated" is the exact problem I have with MoTD and Origins, and every other BO3 map.
Everything has to be so convoluted now. The story, the map progression, why can't we just have another simple experience? That's why I think Buried and Der Reise were both so great, so perfect.

Buried is one of my favorite zombies map. I remember playing it for the first time and seeing the ghost in the mansion. That was so interesting and scary at the same time. Love it.
This is almost disturbingly relatable. I would play this map late at night with my brothers. There was always a friend over because I had to ask my mom to play because it is kinda violent. I would be playing and look at the mansion. Suddenly, a feeling of dread and fear overwhelms me as a see her in the window.
Loved buried. It was so underrated and I wish people would give it a second chance with tranzit out of the picture tbh lol

I remember playing buried with my brother, summer, it was a Friday, dad was at work, mom was mopping the floor, doors were open so the breeze was coming in threw the doors. We played. And played again. Buried... you will forever be missed 😢

I remember when my friends would come over to play co op on this map, and every other map, even though we all had Xbox live, we all hung out and played this all day.

Buried has always been one of my favorites. I loved the space you had to run around the map and train, and also camping in the Pack-a-Punch room with your friends as long as possible. Also, the PhD Flopper Easter Egg was a great addition to the gameplay.
Buried is such a unique entry. I think that’s why I love it so much. It places so many tools at your feet and says “go nuts”.
Buried was *that* map for me. I played it 24/7 when I was 10 because I was too scared to play Origins or Mob(which are now my favorite maps). It's what really got me hooked on Zombies and Black Ops 2 in general. I still love Buried, it does have a soft spot in my heart, but I played it so much that it began to get boring to me, and that's when I moved on.
I will always love Buried, but I'm glad that I got bored of it, because if I didn't, I never would've played any other maps.

Say what you want about tranzit but I had lots of memories with friends and my younger brothers on that map. Always someone knifing ted and locking the doors or getting left behind, it was hilarious. Good times, good times
Most people that don't like TranZit don't know how to TRULY take advantage of what the map offers. A normal tranzit match starts with everyone getting off at the mystery box, the bus leaves them behind and then everyone dies at the power plant if they're lucky 😂😂😂💀💀

This is one of my all time favorite maps. I appreciate MotD and Origins, I actually love them both, but I always find myself playing Buried more.
The trio are for me the best maps of all time. It may feel like a coincidence that mob of the dead, buried and origin came one after the other, but for me, it adds to the mystical factor about these amazing secrets and setups.

My all time favorite map, it’s simple, there’s lots to do, it’s easy to survive with friends and have an overall great time, and it’s one of those maps that, as you said, feels different. It’s unique, unlike any other map. It’s Buried, a great map that deserves more love. (I pray that they remaster this map).
I pray they don’t massacre it like Mob Of the dead, “Five”, Call of the dead, etc. I really hope they will pull a bad company and make another sequel to the Aether just so we can get Chronicles 2.

I think buried was my favorite zombies map because at the time, I was too busy with life to dig in and figure out the more complex features on mob and origins. They felt too difficult for me and my friends to get to end-game in, since we were all really busy with senior year academics and sports. This map had the perfect balance of difficulty and opportunity for setup.
This was also the last cod game I played with those friends before we all went to different colleges and got split up. We mainly did zombies, and we mainly did this map. This was a big part the high school after school experience for me. I'll always thank it for that.

this map got me into cod. id always play this with my neighbour in his basement cause it was his favourite map. we’d skate during the day and play this when we were tired until we had to split to eat with our families. then i’d go back and play all evening. life was good.

The reason why I love the map is because of the round start soundtrack it's bone chilling and give you that vibe where you're in an abandoned old western town that was destroyed and yet haunted
Buried is a unique zombies experience. The witches house, Lenny/Leroy/Arthur, the paralyzer, time travel, the maze, the trap potential, etc. all in a old west setting.

Mostly because it’s easy to get the whole set up really early and get to the spot. Especially with money in the bank, I agree with you because it’s nice to get to the spot early and be set up over trying to get PAP open on round 15 when shits starting to get really hard. With a good team and money already stored into the bank, I could get all setup with upgraded weapons, and traps and perks , with doors open by round 5 easy
