- The Horn of Africa region is facing its driest conditions in decades after three consecutive rainy seasons failed.
Aid agencies say only a tiny fraction of the funds Somalia needs for food assistance has been raised as the world focuses on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Further complicating the response is the political and security situation. The armed group Al Shabab has been stepping up attacks while the government in Mogadishu has been paralysed by a dispute between the president and prime minister. Parliamentary elections have been repeatedly extended.

The 1974---1975 drought was worse than this. But at that time we had a strong and resourceful government . I remember how dedicated and united we were at that time . Our hardly hit people were relocated and settlements were established .

All countries that have drought, and have a coast line, need to build desalination plants. Turning sea water into drinking water, by removing salt from the sea water. Cost to build desalination plant rage price from $80 million to $250 million, on the size of each plant.

Drought is due to climate change and famine is due to mismanagement by human. Tons of potatoes are destroyed in USA because due to logistic issue. The potatoes cannot be delivered to the market and the famers don't have the freezer storage to keep them from rotting.

The crisis in Somalia is an ongoing matter of historical record and investment in the solution should address remedy to the food shortages immediately with the necessary increase from a 3% to a 100% commitment to resolve the humanitarian disaster and additionally elevate the investment into future strategies to deliver a self-sufficiency package of measures to adapt future crisis into an ability to adapt internally with income streams capable of managing the historical picture into a system Somalia can deal with internally and one platform for achieving streams of income is converting the Northern deserts in solar generating supply to the national and global grid to generate income to implement water management into the best regions capable of bridging drought periods with all solutions on the table to this end to maintain food security or buy food security from income generated by other means and solar power would suit that requirement?
Does Africa have a food security program for it's nation of nations and why are the masses of food produced locally not being diverted to the crisis at this time if possible?
If no African food security program in the nations united under the umbrella of African interests on a continent with a capability to produce vast amounts of local/international compatibility for food...is justice for Africans being done or abused by the profit streams in the perception of wealth in tickets before wealth in people, given wealth a shared asset with assets to the sharing of wealth and if Africa is trying to mirror wealth accumulation in the West, this only generates intolerance, hate crimes and murder here, hence, do what's best for all Africans and not what's best for your buyers and sellers milking profits in the greed ceremonies devastating populations.
If areas of Africa suffer drought isn't the fact the nation as a whole produces so much food and surplus's to sell elsewhere but is not capable of automatically addressing the imbalances internally at times of need a deficiency in the union as a whole and testament of one neighbour supporting another naturally, because Africa first should encompass that truth without prejudice?

@Hidase Dam sad.. I talk to a great many young people in Africa.. some in West Africa, the Gambia and Sierra Leone. Same problems there. It's very sad, because so many of the young Africans I speak to, they really want to work hard and make a decent life for themselves. I think a lot of young people know the reality but the problem is you can't put babies back where they came from. An important piece of data is that the average age in Africa is 18 compared to the US which is 38. This means 2 things. 1. That there are fewer workers in Africa supporting those who are not working and 2. where will all the jobs come from in the next 5 or 10 years ?... it's the same in a lot of other socially desperate countries, South America, The Philippines. The Catholics are just as bad. I wish there were an answer and if I was a very wealthy man, I would have a shot at changing things in Africa in a small way but I am heavily involved in Cambodia, the poorest and most corrupt country in SE Asia.
