HI ROB AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. I ENJOYED THE REPLAY OF THE EVENT AND NOW I AM WATCHING YOU GET TO THE BUSINESS OF THE BLOCKS. THANK YOU FOR THIS. I COULD NOT REALLY CONCENTRATE WHEN I WATCHED THE REPLAY. WE LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FOR BEING WITH US. YOU ROCK !!!
Thanks Rob! I'm watching and listening as you review the mystery quilt while I work on Part 3. My grandkids were visiting over the holidays and I missed the updated cutting instructions in my email so I'm marking the backs on light squares and sewing my 8-at-a-time HSTs. I welcomed 2023 by finishing up the QST units. This was a lot of fun. Thanks to all the Stitchin Heaven crew!
I know that to keep a mystery quilt a mystery until the reveal we often use smaller pieces. Now that I've made a couple blocks, its time for me to revise and make it my own so I bought some additional fabric last night before stores closed and am excited to start the year working on my version inspired by your version.
I love your quilts Rob!!! They are always nice designs, but maybe it's just the fabrics you pick. Great contrast. Never dull or too grandma in my pov :) Sorry, grandma. Thank you for the tutorial. Really appreciate it.
Rob, when I started the B blocks, I realized you could make 1- four patch, the upper left quadrant. All 4 quadrants are the same, just turned a quarter turn. It made Block B a lot easier!
Awesome Idea, and so glad to see you following along here old friend! I noticed your name in the comments recently, and it brought a big smile to my face.
The mystery quilt was so much fun! I have all of the 3 pieced triangles done. I have all of the block A triangles sewn, and I'm ready to cut them apart and square up. I did make 1 A block with you all, and 1 B block. Tomorrow will be a work day on the quilt. Happy New Year! Be sure to extend my thanks to the Stitchin' Heaven family!
Happy New Year’s Rob!!! Thank you for re-airing this. I couldn’t get my feed to work last night, so I missed the fun🥲🥲. May 2023 be every quilter’s dream!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Another option for piecing the 16 parts of Block B is to start with the top left corner & chain piece the first 2 parts of each row. Do not cut the threads. Then start again with row 1 and add the 3rd part chain pieced to each row. and then the 4th piece to each row. You do not cut the threads in between. Then you have 3 horizontal seams to complete the block. Pressing seams can be a little tricky but very doable.
Happy New Year Rob! Had a great time yesterday as you Tiffany and cook Anita {and all the Stitchin Heaven staff and sewers} presented a great live event. Thank you thank you Glad you had fun with your hot dog sox and avocado sox! still like I said I was behind the 8 ball playing catch up and too just taking my time as it is said "hike your own hike" or "Quilt your own Quilt" Happy New year and may 2023 be a blessing to all.
I enjoyed your video on the mystery quilt. However, you mentioned bias binding which is fabric cut on the bias to use as binding a quilt. I feel what you were saying, was that for the borders, you were to sew the strips end to end, cutting off the selvedges. Then the outer border, the sewing technique of sewing those strips on the 45-degree angle would be a miter. But not bias. The strips are cut WOF Width of Fabric, then sewn using the Miter method. It reduces the bulk and lays flatter on the quilt.
I just clicked on it on my iPhone and got a message to save to files. It is now in my iCloud storage so I can open in my computer or print it directly from my iPhone as well. Some browsers on the laptop (especially Firefox for some reason) will give you this warning. You can override it if you trust the source or try another browser such as Safari.
I’m just getting back to this since the live videos bored the heck out of me. These have to be the most poorly written instructions I’ve encountered. Something as basic as the unfinished block measurements should be included in the instructions. I’m going to complete the top and send it to the donation pile.

The LIVE was a blast, but am so blessed I felt the nudge to make a recorded version as well.
Lovely pattern thank you. I am a press as you go quilter and a sometimes square as you go but only if they are really off.
Me too love the back of my blocks to be smooth.
Sweet ThanksRob !!

I had a blast yesterday, but did much more partying then sewing. Grateful for this clear and easy to follow recap.
And so glad it is a recap and not disaster plan C - it was fun to do live, but for you party animals, this will ease the QAL hangover, haha
love what I see so far. Love those colors.

Thanks! I appreciate you liking my color choices
