  • This video covers the operation a Ravin Crossbow from start to finish. It includes maintenance and troubleshooting as well. I created this video to assist my customers in operating their new Ravin because many times when they get their new Ravin home they have trouble remembering all the things we went over during their purchase. I hope this helps.
    Today we are using the Ravin R5X:

    Thanks for this vid, man !!
    I am new to crossbows and just got my first one - an R5X Camo which is on sale right now for $1199. The R26X will have to wait until the wife inherits the R5X and I get the R26X ! But after setup from the box it would not fire... returned to your vid and made sure that the bolt really did CLICK in, Good to go !!

    On the ravin crossbows that click when you are cocking it , to make it silent all you have to do is keep the button pushed in on the but stock while cranking it just make sure to let off of the button before you take pressure off of the cranking handle

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  12 дней назад

      That’s correct. I never tell anyone but they figure it out pretty quick, lol. But if your hand comes off that handle while your finger is on that button it’s GAME OVER. thanks for watching.

    Let me ask you something…my new R10X was delivered day before yesterday and I set everything up, mounted/torqued base and scope, etc last night. One thing I noticed right off the bat was the rest…the factory standard rest on mine has two ceramic balls vice the two ceramic discs/wheels. Have they updated this standard R10X rest to the balls vice discs on the latest models, or do I possibly have a model that is a little older and the latest is the version with discs? I know their premium upgrade rest has the two stainless balls in it, but was just curious. The factory shot card with fps test on it chrono’d 428 at the factory so that’s certainly a plus. I’ve got two different chrono’s and will certainly shoot over both this wknd when I sight the scope in, to verify fps. This R10X is a crazy nice crossbow, made very well and handles damn good. At 6’3”, I let the butt stock out an inch and half and locked it down there and it shoulders really well for me.

    The crank slides in perfectly
    In a spot I. The butt stock.. you can literally see where it clicks in. Then you don’t have to have your hand anywhere near the danger zone in the front..

      That internal crank is only on the right side. The Charger EXT handle I believe can switch to left hand. The Suppressor Extreme comes with it.

    Stuck between the r5x and reliable r10 what are your thoughts …just recently seen they discontinued the r5x so makes me worried bout reliability

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  Месяц назад

      Almost the same crossbow. The R5X has a silent crank, that’s about the only difference. If they discontinue the R5X it’s just because they are upgrading it to a different model. It’s a very solid performer.

    Im a novice for crossbows but i had shoulder surgery and will be using a crossbow this sept. Ive narrowed my choice to this R5X, the RDX410, and the TITAN400. An helpful insights? I dont live anywhere near a shop with crossbows and will be buying online.

      All good choices but if you ask which one I would buy it would be the R5X. I just like the way the Ravin operates. I’ve got 3 videos (#4 is coming) on the whole process of unboxing and operating the Ravin. But I’ll be glad to help walk you thru any help you might need. Thanks for watching.

    Just got a 10x - first ever crossbow. Little nervous on uncocking it. You mention shooting into a target, do you recommend a good target that doesn’t take so much force to remove the arrow?

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  2 месяца назад

      amzn.to/3Yux4Fh This is a small Delta McKenzie bag that you use just to shoot into to de-cock your crossbow. You can keep it behind your shooting house or in the back of the truck. If you want a really good target just for shooting and sighting in check out the Big Shot that I did a video on a few months ago. My granddaughter pulls out the bolt with 2 fingers. Hope you enjoy your Ravin, they are pretty incredible. Thanks for watching.

    How about letting us know why the 2 plastic tabs break off in the stock that go in to the little holes by the crank. I have had ny stock wobble.

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  10 месяцев назад

      I’m not exactly sure, but do you mean your quiver bracket is broken? Very easy to replace if that’s it.

    • @donaldgsell1663
      @donaldgsell1663 10 месяцев назад

      No talking about the stock it self. There are 7 total screws that hold the stock to the crossbow rail it actually squeezes the stock to the flight rail and crank system. If you ever had the stock off of a ravin you would know what I mean.there is 2 plastic tabs one on each side of stock they stick out like 1/8" when you put each side of the stock on you need to line that tab with the hole in the back part of the rail were the crank assembly is. The 2 tabs are what keeps the stock from wobbling up and down seems like if you don't check all the stock screws the stock could slide forward or backwards alittle bit. Seems like just a poor Design there should be some type of screw that goes through the stock and screw in to the rail up were you crank the crossbow because that's were the 2 plastic tabs are. If you ever took a stock off you would definitely know what I'm talking about. I think if the stock screws are loose when you shoot it that puts stress on the 2 tabs and also when you uncocked it that will also.

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  10 месяцев назад

      Ah, now I know what you are talking about. Not many people have dug in that far on those so I thought you meant an external piece. I’ve only seen those damaged a couple of times when someone let the crank slip out of their hand. But I noticed years ago when I get them out of the box those 7 screws never seem tight enough. I tighten those before I start building them. That may be why I’ve never had any problems with that. I will bring that up to them the next time I call.

    • @donaldgsell1663
      @donaldgsell1663 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you don't hear alot about it I'm not sure if people realize there stock is loose. I have see a few ravins that my friends own that were like that and they did not know it. But I own 2 ravin r20 and purchased one like that. And ravin sent me a new stock. I'm sure there is a few out there and people don't know it. There is a guy name bigbird on crossbow Nation that makes a band-aid fix for it. And other ravin things. Awesome guy.

    Great video. With the advancements of power, speed and accuracy in these new bows you have to know how to trouble shoot them.
    Also, whatever you do, DO NOT buy/use the lighted nocks that Ravin sells with their bolts. They are an awful design and have had many failures. Just not worth the money and heartache. Look into Firenocks.

  • @chrisruzsa2798

    So a bow you cant shoot costs as much as a car explodes in 2 ways yeah no thanks.
    A crossbow is meant to be shot.

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  Год назад +1

      Yes but not like a regular bow. You can put 7000 or more shots on a good set of bow strings. Crossbows have way more tension and different wear patterns. Plus, there’s more than 2 ways to blow up a crossbow, lol. Thanks for viewing.

    • @chrisruzsa2798
      @chrisruzsa2798 Год назад

      @@TrinityWild a crossbow should not have issues being shot thousands of times nor have issues of blowing up in those two ways. The only way a crossbow should have issues is with dry firing being cocked for 24 hours should not do damage at all. Especially on a crossbow thats well into several thousands of dollars. Yeah it was a very informative video for sure thanks for your time and efforts into making this.

      @@h2oecho rock slinging is very effective i am not that good at it but i would rather a crossbow that can be used. Like a tenpoint, exclaibur, killer instinct, scorpyd ect ect ect. No need for butt hurt just trying to help people save money and buying a real crossbow instead of over priced junk. Especially ones that cant even handle being cocked lol.
