- A ceremony that is held every year, but is very rarely discussed and analyzed. Where did it come from? How did it start? Who is responsible for all pain and suffering? That’s what I aim to find out today. Potentially, the rabbit holes I’ve uncovered with shake you to your slimey slimey core.

@@ahmirdixon134 It's *partially* lost. Less lost than most things you think of when you hear "lost media", and Nick most likely still has it, but all the available recordings are from 2001 or earlier. By that I mean they're all fairly low quality, and many are incomplete.

I got confused on why the kid rated the movie “B for Bullsh*t”, then all was clear when it was revealed to be Song of the South 😭
On a Pretty Much It movie commentary track (and RUclips video on the PMI channel), Victorious’s Matt Bennett said his Kids Choice award blimp was a kaleidoscope. Not sure the exact year he won but after 2010. I believe it was their Rent movie commentary.

One of my favorite memories from the Kids Choice Awards is being mesmerized by Fergie’s Lego Dress at the 2011 KCA’s. That dress truly lives in my head rent free to this day.
my family was too broke for Nickelodeon when I was a kid but I acquired a large collection of Rugrats VHS tapes and Nick would advertise the KCA with a bunch of clips of people getting slimed and I thought it was so cool but I never got around to watching one so I really really loved and appreciate this video’s topic being covered in such extraordinary depth considering how much has been lost to time 🙏🏽
It was the same for me. I didn't have cable growing up, so I never watched the KCAs as a kid. I watched it in my teens when my family finally got cable
I very briefly shared a 9th class with Qaasim Middleton’s [Naked Brothers Band] little brother, and he used to brag about how cool the KCA afterparties were. I remember seething with envy, desperately wishing I too, had the amount of child clout needed to hang out with Katy Perry and Jack Black IRL. Anyways this is a great video, love yr stuff as per usual 👍

The stage manager from that Dan Schneider KCA is from “You Can’t Do That On Television,” which is the same show that originated the slime.

I never watched the kids choice awards as a kid, but I knew OF them, and was always excited for them, despite never seeing them, interacting with them, or really knowing them in any real capacity.
Thank god for bhultra to give me the scoop on childhood stuff I missed out on, yet desperately wanted to be a part of.

If there's any host who embodies 'live action cartoon character' it is definitely Jack Black. Also yeah I am definitely sure at the time of the 2005 KCAs Trump was still hosting the Apprentice hence why he said his catchphrase from the show. Also woah, seeing a Dan Schneider show winning and the stars thanking Schneider has now given me very eew vibes.
I can't believe the famous anime King of the Hill got a KCA nom. Also the day I realized the KCAs were a giant commercial was the day my childhood died, i remember feeling so bummed when i finally realized my vote didn't matter.

I remember loving the kids choice awards especially when icarly and victorious were still on. Drake and Josh would usually win favorite tv show and after that it was icarly, I only remember victorious winning once or twice

I feel like I spent more time with Nickelodeon growing up than people. I remember watching a lot of these live. I got annoyed with all the screaming, even as a kid. I think the years I remembered the most was mid to late 90's. I forgot how many years they had Rosie O'Donnell host the KCA's. I vaguely remember the blimps being kaleidoscope. It combines the original logo before the rebranding . I heard the word Nickelodeon when I saw the titanic and that's when I learned about the origin of the word. This was a pretty extensive and unfortunately a lot of the clips have become lost media over the years. It's kind of wild to see what became of a lot of these actors. I'm surprised I'm only now seeing this video recommended but I guess it was probably overshadowed by quiet on set. I don't feel like my memories are tarnished. You can see at times when there was a lot of heart put into the network before it's inevitable decline.
