I watched his episode of Yo Gabba Gabba at least forty times because I was babysitting my toddler nephew at the time, and he made it bearable by being obviously happy to be there and having so much fun with it. It's so sad when people go on kids shows or on any media and half-ass it.

I can’t not smile hard whenever Jables is on screen. I’ve said this many times before and I’m saying it again: Jack Black is my favorite person (other than family of course!) I remember they'd have the obnoxious orange blimp watermark on tv shows all day counting down to the event. They even did mini interviews and behind the scenes footage during commercial breaks. It was such an amazing time....and then you had the Day of Play....

And it was definitely not a toll free number and it took forever for the automated system to get through all the categories and nominees. Fun story, like 6 years ago I met a guy in rehab who used to be in a boy band. I guess that boy band was really popular In Europe and they actually won a kids choice award. Never cared for award shows...except the Kids Choice Awards. That was the highlight of my year growing up. It wasn't like the stuffy award shows you see. It was fun and over the top in the best way possible. Jack Black is the personification of the Kids Choice Awards.
My favorite fact about this show is that only two people have won the Nicelodeon Life Time achievement award. Optimis Prime and Dan Schneider (who was the first person to ever win it)

I remember as a kid before the internet you had to call into a phone number to vote. And it was definitely not a toll free number and it took forever for the automated system to get through all the categories and nominees. So my parents got this charge on their bill for me calling Nickelodeon for like half an hour.
I was a Cartoon Network child. Ed, Edd, and Eddy is one of the best. But I will say that Jack is Back advertisement gave me some serious nostalgia. He was my idol growing up.
I still to this day randomly have images of the "Jack is Back" Jack Black Kid's Choice Awards promo pop into my head from time to time. It's amazing how, all these years later, that song still gets stuck in my head. I got so excited when you mentioned that lol

As a kid I always thought it was really cool and inclusive of Nick to include disney stars and show in nominations, I never thought about the true intent of it until this video

Fun story, like 6 years ago I met a guy in rehab who used to be in a boy band. I guess that boy band was really popular In Europe and they actually won a kids choice award. So after we’re out of rehab I hung out with him once at his house and saw the blimp in person and got a picture of me with it. Super random haha cool guy though.
It’s insane how important these awards used to be to me as a kid. I remember standing in the kitchen back when we still had a corded phone, and calling in to vote for all my favorites.
I miss the late 90s.

I remember me and my friend throwing a whole party for the kids choice awards once. it was just us there, but we dressed up, built a HUGE blanket fort, decorated the whole living room, and screamed at every award. I also remember staying up late once and dancing on my parents bed as "best day of my life" started playing live

About the bit at 15:31 about two artists being nominated for the same award twice, I think we all remember when Three Times One Minus One had two different subs nominated for the same award at the Homage Awards, and one of them won. That was a beautiful moment.

One of the most iconic kid's choice awards moments for me was when the first Captain America Civil War trailer to show spider man was played. Me and my brother were SCREAMING at the tv when we saw it, and the host was like "YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST"

Never cared for award shows...except the Kids Choice Awards. That was the highlight of my year growing up. It wasn't like the stuffy award shows you see. It was fun and over the top in the best way possible. Jack Black is the personification of the Kids Choice Awards.

i remember the first year that i voted noticing that in the promos they would name each celebrity that was coming and it was one person from every category you vote for, and all of them ending up being the winners. meaning the votes meant nothing, they winners were predetermined;( (idk about every year, i only noticed for that year! some time between 2007-2010)

Because just like Spongebob, it's pretty static in it's popularity. Generations of kids are being introduced to the series, which is probably why it's still on there.
