I think a big reason that 2008 is so memorable for Scott is that it's also the first HD Survivor season - a show I know he watches. Would love to see him make a retroactive rewatch-critique video on Survivor Gabon!
Oddly enough I’m currently doing a Gabon rewatch. It was the first season I had watched after a long layoff back in the day, and I hadn’t rewatched it since. I just finished the episode where GC and his giant shirt quit.
I was kinda hoping we'd get a Cramers' Choice Awards with Scott and his family getting slimed, maybe next year? Also shoutout to Jaden for getting Scott on the Patrick Mahomes wagon.
In response to the question at 13:33 - some awards shows do allow multiple nominations to the same person in a category. It's allowed at the Golden Globes - Leo DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for both The Departed and Blood Diamond in 2007. The Oscars, on the other hand, does not allow more than one nom in an acting category, but you can get one in Actor and another in Supporting. For example, in 2019 Scarlett Johansson was nominated for Best Actress for Marriage Story and Best Supporting for Jojo Rabbit. As for the Grammys... who gives a sh*t.
@@imsadlol4528 Amy Adams is one of the best - if not THE best - working actress today. The fact she has never won an Oscar is criminal. In 2016 she had some lead actress momentum for both "Arrival" and "Nocturnal Animals." If she had submitted both to the Academy for consideration for Best Actress, she would run the risk of splitting the vote and not earning a nomination at all. It is purely speculative on my behalf, but I think this is exactly what happened, as she wasn't nominated for either that year. Perhaps that's what you may be thinking of. She was nominated for 2 Golden Globes in 2019, but that was for different categories. TLDR: No, she's never been nominated twice in the same category for an Oscar.
Fun fact, vaguely related to this. In the early years of the Oscars, an actor was nominated (and subsequently won) not for their work in a specific production but for their entire catalogue of work! I always found that so interesting, but I'm glad they changed it. One bad/okay performance would bring your chances down completely, which would suck if you otherwise was consistently good.
i loved the KCA when i was a kid, and one of my core memories from my childhood was watching rihanna perform ''rude boy'' at the awards. now, as a little latin american girl who did not know english at all i thought it was super cool and that the song was very catchy. now as a 20 year old i cannot understand for the life of me how they got her to sing THAT song on a show for... well, kids lmaooooo

I just discovered Dream Jelly the other day, they have great videos! Cool that you shouted them out, they seem like a really new channel. Also this was a fun video! About the bit at 15:31 about two artists being nominated for the same award twice, I think we all remember when Three Times One Minus One had two different subs nominated for the same award at the Homage Awards, and one of them won. That was a beautiful moment.
One of the most iconic kid's choice awards moments for me was when the first Captain America Civil War trailer to show spider man was played. Me and my brother were SCREAMING at the tv when we saw it, and the host was like "YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST"
I was literally just thinking about Jack Black singing that song while I was working, and then you released this vid a day later. Somehow you always release these nostalgia videos right after I'm thinking about it.

Never cared for award shows...except the Kids Choice Awards. That was the highlight of my year growing up. It wasn't like the stuffy award shows you see. It was fun and over the top in the best way possible. Jack Black is the personification of the Kids Choice Awards.
My favorite fact about this show is that only two people have won the Nicelodeon Life Time achievement award. Optimis Prime and Dan Schneider (who was the first person to ever win it)
It was cool how you shouted out Dream Jelly at the end! Their videos have been blowing up my recommended page and I've been really enjoying them. I hope they get loads of new subs now!
I don’t have much to say except that I got that Defunctland sweatshirt in his last merch drop and I LOVE it, props to Scott for having good taste Also that the best thing about the Kid’s Choice Awards is that you can see which celebrities have a sense of fun and humor. I would get so pumped up for this as a kid, the year pink performed get this party started hyped me up so much lmao. Love when you talk about nostalgia topics! Also congrats on the new baby!!
i remember the first year that i voted noticing that in the promos they would name each celebrity that was coming and it was one person from every category you vote for, and all of them ending up being the winners. meaning the votes meant nothing, they winners were predetermined;( (idk about every year, i only noticed for that year! some time between 2007-2010)
I don’t normally like videos… mostly because I listen to videos while driving, but as soon as you mentioned Leo Vader, I parked, and I SMASHED THAT LIKE BUTTON.
This show always fell on my birthday and kids would turn down my bday invites to watch it instead. the KCAs set me down my villain arc and it haunts me to this day.
Because just like Spongebob, it's pretty static in it's popularity. Generations of kids are being introduced to the series, which is probably why it's still on there.

me when i found out that i was moving from the east coast to Orange County Califonia in like 4th grade, I remember running around yelling "IM GOING TO GO TO THE KIDS CHOICE AWARDS"
i did not go to the kids choice awards lol
Scott you've become my favorite RUclipsr over the years for just your consistent genuine positive attitude. Always smiling when you upload!
I remember me and my friend throwing a whole party for the kids choice awards once. it was just us there, but we dressed up, built a HUGE blanket fort, decorated the whole living room, and screamed at every award. I also remember staying up late once and dancing on my parents bed as "best day of my life" started playing live
Love the "new" aspect ratio. Also really appreciate the shout out to relevant videos you have been doing at the end lately.
Scott is so wholesome. Love this stuff so much
God, I haven't thought about the kids choice awards in a loooooong time. I was always super hyped for it every year, as a kid.
I just discovered Dream Jelly the other day, they have great videos! Cool that you shouted them out, they seem like a really new channel.
Also this was a fun video! The 2008 KCAs is also the one that I hold deepest in my memory, but I always remember being excited for the every year. I was definitely a Nickelodeon kid. This video was a cool trip down memory lane
About the bit at 15:31 about two artists being nominated for the same award twice, I think we all remember when Three Times One Minus One had two different subs nominated for the same award at the Homage Awards, and one of them won. That was a beautiful moment.
I’m 4 years deep into a binge watch of your channel. Perfect timing to drop this video! 🎉
One of the most iconic kid's choice awards moments for me was when the first Captain America Civil War trailer to show spider man was played. Me and my brother were SCREAMING at the tv when we saw it, and the host was like "YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST"
I'm so glad that Scott watched avatar, such an incredible show
I was literally just thinking about Jack Black singing that song while I was working, and then you released this vid a day later. Somehow you always release these nostalgia videos right after I'm thinking about it.
Great video!
Who do you want to see get slimed this year?
I can see you doing your own award show with your family using slime!
I appreciate all the hard work that you put into your content!
Can't wait for the next one!
3:54 I just noticed how much he mentions 2008 and that was the year I was born pretty cool 😎
Scott you never fail to make me have the nostalgic feeling and show me clips I haven’t seen since I was 6. I freaking love you for it haha
The fact he recorded this on an old camcorder is amazing. 10/10 for nostalgia alone 🙌🏻
Scott you are my favorite creator I don't even read the titles I just click play and I just wanna say I have a broken collarbone (first bone I ever broke) and new struggler content is exactly what I needed to cheer me up bless you and thank you
I’m so glad other people feel the same way about the 2008 kids choice awards
Never cared for award shows...except the Kids Choice Awards. That was the highlight of my year growing up. It wasn't like the stuffy award shows you see. It was fun and over the top in the best way possible. Jack Black is the personification of the Kids Choice Awards.
Scott shatting all over little kids playing Roblox is the exact content I subscribed for. I don't think they got dunked on nearly enough in fact.
This promo has been burned into my memory too! I can't hear the original song without thinking about Jack Black
This was such a great video. The jack black song has been stuck in my head for years so glad other people think about that
2020 and 2021 were weirder times but what’s weirder is now where we just pretend everything’s fine
I don’t have much to say except that I got that Defunctland sweatshirt in his last merch drop and I LOVE it, props to Scott for having good taste
Also that the best thing about the Kid’s Choice Awards is that you can see which celebrities have a sense of fun and humor. Jack Black has SO much fun with it, and even ones that aren’t that intense about it but still have fun getting slimed are cool.
This was nostalgia fueled! I still remember the 2008 KCA, I was in 8th grade and watched them every year with my sister!! Good times, man!
God damn I LOVE Jack Black!!! Never seen his Jack in Black intro, what a banger!!
Lol the Jack Black intro song is the ONLY thing I think of when I think of the Nick Choice Awards and I consider it a very fond memory 😆
This show always fell on my birthday and kids would turn down my bday invites to watch it instead. the KCAs set me down my villain arc and it haunts me to this day.
9:05 so thawing or defrosting would be the proper term. Dethawing isn't really a thing as that's freezing hahaha.
I loved seeing all the ads then not watching the show, the hype was realll
Thanks for reminding me to vote, Scott! This was such a memorable part of my childhood, so thanks for bringing me back there.
Scott may be the only person who voted that was even born when the last Harry Potter book came out. Why is it a choice for this year's awards?
Because just like Spongebob, it's pretty static in it's popularity. Generations of kids are being introduced to the series, which is probably why it's still on there.
OMG that Jack Black commercial is also burned into my brain! It played after every show I watched on nick at the time, I’m glad someone else remembers it as vividly as I do lmao.
Lil Nas X won an award in the 2020 show and his acceptance video was just him holding the blimp and saying "wow" repeatedly. King behavior, honestly.
Every time I watch a Scott Cramer video I leave feeling more convinced that we lived the same exact childhood 💀 The 2008 KCA "Jack is Back" promo lives in my head rent free to this day. I even looked it up LAST WEEK after not seeing it for like 15 years. Then proceeded to go on the website and vote but didn't because I had no idea who most of those people were lmao
the way you looked at the camera when preston was talking about touching the blimp for the first time made me laugh way too hard
Scott thanks for making this video in the perfect aspect ratio to watch on my iPad generation 6
this video is presented on a home video camera to preserve the integrity of Scott Cramer's creative vision
It’s crazy that you and I also remember the commercial for the 2008 Kids Choice Awards.
It’s about time Leo Vader gets the attention he deserves.
Great video, Scott.
10:10 also gotta add that monster high the movie, while not a sequel like the rest, is a remake 😭😭
