Hate to say it, because I supported it early on but I am glad they are cracking down. Getting out of hand. You Tube did not make Sosua famous 😂😂. I have been going since the 90's. It was just a spot that someone had to tell you about. As with anything, people mess everything up and don't know how to respect people's privacy.

Law recording without consent in the Dominican Republic - Article 337 of the Dominican Penal Code punishes anyone who perpetrates the following acts with imprisonment from six months to one year and a fine of twenty-five thousand to fifty thousand pesos: (1) capture, record or transmit, without the consent of their author, words spoken privately or confidentially

It is true about the camaraderie between the brothas, it is really really outstanding! I wish it was more prevalent like that in the states but of course there is so much to deal with here in the states all the time and just general extenuating circumstances that make it more difficult.
I looked up the law in the Dominican Republic. You can record anywhere in public spaces, which includes you know outside areas where there is no expectation of privacy and not anywhere privacy is expected such as houses, businesses, etc. Basically, it's the same as anywhere else. Couldn't find anything that says you can't record in public spaces.
I enjoy all of your content....unfortunately all them youngns with the "creep joints" are the reason. It's truly not your content. But they are putting everyone in that basket.
Brah…..there are women who don’t want their families to see them and assume they are working girls. Some are and some aren’t. When you come with a camera 🎥 video recording random people on the street you are stigmatizing both those who are innocent and those who are not.
A lot of people are out there on secret missions, and they do not want to be seen on RUclips. In other parts of the country that you mentioned, they don't mind so much because their missions have been completed.
I think it's fine to show places in sosua. When you include recording people in the video, it's a different deal. Some people would rather not be bothered. It's best to just ask permission first.

@@msdarkstar44my Friend, Sosua, cabarete and the entire province of puerto plata was well known way before RUclips came out. Puerto plata is the founder of tourism in DR. Puerto Plata was the main tourists destination in DR. Of course, punta cana came out later on with more modern infrastructures and has its fans. But puerto plata is the girlfriend of the Atlantic Ocean 🌊. This is a phrase in Spanish…..Puerto plata es la novia del océano atlántico 🙌
@@Vamo_Alla considering I have family that’s Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Jamaican, I’m well aware of the islands. Unless you’re from the East Coast, many US tourist don’t see DR as a true tourist destination. It’s only been through RUclips in the last 5 years that it’s become more popular just be honest.

I wish youtubers had never came to Sosua. It was famous and much classier before from 90s to about mid 2000s. Its completely over saturated now. Far too many for such a small area and showing the same thing. I've seen a few guys i know (visitors & expats) on video & they were not happy to be on video. I also dont want youtubers going to other parts of DR either, but anyone ought to know nobody in a Zona Rosa wants to be on video. Years ago, people worried about the government (Big Brother) watching everything you do. The truth is it's youtubers putting everything on blast all the damm time. Its obvious Chicas & fellas dont wanna be on video, but youtubers dont get it & dont care. Enough already

@PhillyDom Well, it's really not just my truth. If it was, it wouldn't matter. Remember the former Sosua mayor? Complaints went to her directly with youtube videos. In response, she came out at night and rode through the strip. Notice, soon afterward, they were pushing chicas off the strip and wanted them to go down by that complex past Ahmvee near the police station.
Look at the changes by the clocktower in Cartagena and what the new mayor is doing. The clocktower scene was the same for a longtime, but you only got this response when youtubers (not all, but too many) put too much on blast for everyone to see. My friend who lives there said youtubers are not the only reason, but a huge part of people's perception in the streets. Some youtubers are moderate, discreet, and do a great job in balancing eye candy and actual content like providing useful info for visitors. The others, who just show mangoes and talk of prices are going to slash monetization of many.
Find another source of income without exploiting folk's who are minding there own business

Businesses & governments typically don't just post videos like these youtubers, they will put out video clips when a CRIME has happened. Even "Earth Cam Live" channel in different parts of the world (Niagara Falls, hurricane damage in different parts of the Caribbean) are recorded to show landscape and scenery, not individuals. In this case, everybody knows this is a redlight/ Zona Rosa area, so obviously, why would anyone think that's ok to record here?!
