My 3600 does: 4.3 1.1v, 4.4 1.2v, 4.5 1.3v (under all core load voltage is lower...) RAM 3800 No prob as well (1:1), and all are cheap components (Asus b450;)
@@ajschay3378 i got 4.6 on one 3600 but was only stable on 4.5 i think that was at 1.35v though the rest of them were for other people so just set them at 4.3.
@@keepcalm1182 yes most of them will do it at the voltages you said but i found your R-20 score will be less i found 1.27v on all of them to give best results but they are all different .
@@welshinu true, can only say: I created some excel charts for mine, did several (almost hundred) logs at several ghz and voltage used, draw graphes afterwards, and can say mine does scale linear, so reaching 4200 cb20 points is possible. but currently Im not sure what my save voltage shall be, bc I switch to a higher oc profile just for gaming, and after gaming I switch back to normal. this is surprisingle very easy possible via ASUS AI Suite (which I intended to use only for fan speeds in the first place;)

Tried 4.4 @ 1.275 and got errors while running prime 95. Thought about trying 1.3 but got all the increase in FPS that I was looking for. Your 13 minute may stop me from upgrading my cpu until I can find a great deal on a 5700x or 5800x3d.

There is also a Windows option to reboot into system bios for those having trouble with del, if any. Settings update recovery troubleshooting restart system setting or system bios , once in there is a fast or quick boot setting that may be causing the issue with key entry to the bios
I got the B450M PRO-M2 MAX with a Ryzen 3900x. I'm sitting at 4.3GHZ with 1.325V with two sticks of DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory. Cinebench r23 is 18769 +/- 100... While running Cinebench the temps max out at 69C. Normal operation temp is around 45C... Its stable from what I can tell. No errors in the windows logs either and everything is operating as expected. Ran MSI Kombuster too without issue.
I got my newer 3600 to a stable 4.4 all core at 1.25v with flck at 1800 and ram at 3800 using the dram calculator fast settings. Runs very well. I’m using a wraith prism which on cb r20 stays around 75-80c in a small itx case. I love overclocking so much I hardly play any games...lol
Your processor will fry unless you add an aftermarket/liquid aio cooler.The stock cooler coming with the processor is trash.That goes both for intel and amd.
@@StephenHawkins393 Also for me i have it at 4.3ghz and in Cinebench 20 i hover around 80 degrees. In cpu intensive games like Squad for example it never goes above 70 degrees.
@@thegreat4954 If it never goes above 75 degrees, then it's absolutely fine. A few months back, I faced an issue with my computer which was there was a huge amount of dust in the case which blocked airflow. As a result, I was getting too high CPU temperature. It went above 90 . Then I cleaned up all the dust from the case. After that the heating issue resolved. So always try to keep the load temperature around 75 degrees. Never let it go higher than that. If it's lower, it's better. Remember that 80/90 degrees is a red flag.
@Harish Govindaraj Thanks Harish. Yeah core i5 8600k is good enough for what I do. I do programming and content creations most of the time. For example, I program websites, games, apps etc. For these, core i5 8600k is just more than enough for me.
@Harish Govindaraj Honestly speaking i5 9600k is exactly as same as i5 8600k but i5 9600k has slightly a bit high boost clock speed and base clock speed. But when you know overclocking, i5 8600k and i5 9600k become the same. Also deliding i5 8600k is a viable solution to solving over heating issue. But Delidding costs a price which is it voids warranty.

My cpu is idle at 70degrees and going beyond 110degrees under stress Tried all sorts of coolers and bios reset, what could be the issue ?? Note : At my bios homescreen, the CPU Core Voltage appears as 1.434 volts (no oc, no custom settings)
Got my setting just be the same as 3600X base clock which is 3.8 Ghz. Running it on b450m and with standard Water Cooling 120mm, i got 75degree at Prime95 on voltage at 1.2 and 62 - 65 degree at Cinebench and got score about ~8200. I dont think i need more than this for gaming xD

I just set to 4.2ghz. In auto voltage it locks 1.1v stable... Even at stress test... Should I fix manually or keep it auto? Coz it never exceeded 1.1v even during stress test... Temps are 60-65 degrees on stock cooler.
I would assume so, given that his voltage is barely changing and his clocks are staying the same in HWINFO. I turned those two off for my 3600. My clock speed would consistently change randomly, temps would spike and fans would ramp up to counteract this and it was quite annoying. My cpu would also sit at 3.9GHz while gaming or stress testing which makes no sense given that my temps were under 70C

I have a ryzen 5 3600 which i overclocked following your guide.. i was able to get 4.4ghz at 1.28v override voltage and llc at mode 1.. underload my cpu voltage drops at 1.25.. but for some reason prime 95 doesn't like my oc.. it almost give an error instantly.. but other then that i tested cinbench r23 on a loop for an hour.. and it didn't crash.. i also did gaming for a whole day no probs there.. would you consider this a stable oc? I m confused due to prime95 errors..

Yes , but I don't see any setting for AMD Cool & Quiet in the Bios!!! Weird. I have the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II and an R5 3600 @ 4.6 Ghz. Using MSI Mag Core 360R AIO. Switched the awful fans on that gurl as soon as I opened it to Antec Prizm X's. Great cooling from tjat setup. Have fun.

Where do you all get these super lotery silicon chips ? Mine cant even hit stable 4.2 @ 1.4 volts. Now i used Graphically Challenged settings on my chip with defaulf frequency, so i let it boost as much as it can. Running X370 ASUS Hero 6. Voltage 1,285. When i use Cinebench, all cores are allwaays under 4Ghz self boost, cant get it higher, no matter what i do. Short time single core boosts are up to 4,13-4,18Ghz. Well its quite good, but should be with in specs as default, and should boost to 4,2 single core, no when i use overcloking presets ! Like PBO 4x +200Mhz - nothing happens, but it sometimes helps with the CB scores. Loadline 4/5, power 120%. It eats up to 75 Watts only, and temps are great, under 65°C after few hours of Cyber Punk 4k. Got 280mm water cooling. But even whtn the low voltage = low temps = high loadline = stable voltage = it should boost higher, but it won't
im no expert but if the boosting clocks or tweaking volts generates too much heat and is doing so much of the time, surely it will be testing the limits of the material and craftmanship of the product. but temperatures kept obey the tweaks should run fine until golden ages even

My ryzen 5 3600 is at 4.6ghz (not where it stopped being stable, I could increase more it’s just all the boost I needed)

Anybody who can't get into bios by tapping delete through the first few seconds of boot up has no business being in the bios

Temps are 60-65 degrees on stock cooler.
That's a very low and safe voltage, I wouldn't worry about changing it. I have my 3600 at 4.35GHz and 1.1V static.

Stupid question, but why "overclock" to 4.2GHz when the CPU goes to 4.2 in turbo mode? Isn't that just a 4.2GHz 24/7 completely unneccessary?

Where do you all get these super lotery silicon chips ? Mine cant even hit stable 4.2 @ 1.4 volts. Now i used Graphically Challenged settings on my chip with defaulf frequency, so i let it boost as much as it can. Running X370 ASUS Hero 6. Voltage 1,285. When i use Cinebench, all cores are allwaays under 4Ghz self boost, cant get it higher, no matter what i do. Short time single core boosts are up to 4,13-4,18Ghz. Well its quite good, but should be with in specs as default, and should boost to 4,2 single core, no when i use overcloking presets ! Like PBO 4x +200Mhz - nothing happens, but it sometimes helps with the CB scores. Loadline 4/5, power 120%. It eats up to 75 Watts only, and temps are great, under 65°C after few hours of Cyber Punk 4k. Got 280mm water cooling. But even whtn the low voltage = low temps = high loadline = stable voltage = it should boost higher, but it won't

im no expert but if the boosting clocks or tweaking volts generates too much heat and is doing so much of the time, surely it will be testing the limits of the material and craftmanship of the product. but temperatures kept obey the tweaks should run fine until golden ages even

This may be silly, but if a higher vdroop makes your overlock more stable, then why don’t you just lower the voltage and leave the vdroop at minimum?
