    Great dedication shown by Adriaan to conduct the interview in the midst of an apparent earthquake on his side. 😅. Jokes aside, Adriaan Richter was one of my loose forward heroes growing up. I think he was actually one of our top try scorers in the '95 world cup. Even with a short career, he's a legend.

      Yes I think he has his laptop on his lap! That was the original idea behind the device. It was lovely talking to him. As you say, one of our Springbok heroes from the past. Glad you enjoyed the video. He was actually level with Chester on four tries for the 95 World Cup. He is a World Cup winner and he captained the Boks and that for sure makes him a legend!
      Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate the support.

      Everytime he moves his feet there's a earthquake...that's why they call it the Richter scale...lol

    Adriaan Richter's try for Northern Transvaal against the British & Irish Lions that sent the Loftus crowd into an absolute frenzy in 1997 still rings fresh on my mind. Powerful No.8 🏉🇿🇦

    Adriaan was my hero. As a small boy I recognised what a hard player he was - always in the thick of things, whether playing for the bulls or the boks.
    Thank you once ahgain for these lovely reminiscences. There are many gaps in the story of the boks from 1992 into the professional era. I think those gaps are being filled with your collection of interviews. Thank you again so very very much.

      Thank you for that lovely comment! Really appreciate the kind words. I'm so happy you're enjoying the content.
      Adriaan was a fantastic player. Unlucky to not have played more Tests for the Springboks.
      More Bok interviews to come from the early 90s ... in the coming weeks I'll have Ian Macdonald, Willie Hills and Tiaan Strauss on the show.
      Thanks for the support!

    The greatest 8th man every to play the game. Adriaan should have been the no 8 in the 1995 final. Kitch made kak decisions.

    The changing of the coaches , yeah John Williams stuck with his NTvl players, Ian Mac selected his Natal players , Kitch build his squad around Tvl champion side. In 94 , Kitch had used three hookers from Tvl ( Uli , James Dalton , Chris Rossouw ) .

      Quite right. A solid history of the coaches selecting the players they had with them at provincial level. Perhaps they also just felt more comfortable with a core group of players they knew and trusted from their provinces.

    Too much editing back and forth let it flow

      Sometimes it is necessary because of a dodgy Zoom connection. Hope that clarifies.

      @@frontrowrugbyith respect, it is disturbing and difficult to follow. We rather watch a jittery image of Adriaan Richter (which is why we click the link) than the constant switching. Adriaan's image is generally only displayed for three seconds at a time

    • @frontrowrugby
      @frontrowrugby  Год назад +1

      @@oraclis4892 Allow me to explain: The actual Zoom recording was switching like that between me and Adriaan. It seemed to be a glitch at the time of recording but since then there have been some updates and it has been much better since.
