Wrong. These are street legal in Oklahoma. The officer was wrong and overstepped.
Except she could ride it there. It's completely legal to ride motorized bicycles on public roads.
Markus Ceruso They are street legal if registered with the department of motor vehicles. It would be considered a moped in the eyes of the law in Oklahoma.
50cc and under = no license no insurance no registration. Pretty universal across all states. Bear in mind that this law also normally stipulates as well that the 50cc or less motor not be capable of exceeding 20mph. So if you beef up a 50cc bicycle and are cruising around at 45 with no insurance or registration then you can bet you'll run into some issues with the law. This includes electric powered vehicles as well.
