Nice set up. I have the single tier rack and it is great for me. Very solid and sturdy. Got 2 sets of plate holders coming from hulkfit. Walmart has the bumper plates in store now as well and I've been grabbing those up too. Good stuff bro. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
The leg holder idea is brilliant! Works perfectly! Someone commented that you can just flip the J-Cups but that doesn’t work. They fall down to the sides. This is so easy and inexpensive. I bought a 48” x 1” pipe and 4 of the hose clamps from Home Depot for about $15, and 2 squat pads from Walmart (2 for extra length along the bar) for $20. That’s it! Thanks for the idea!
I just got this problem and what I did was I put my barbell on the safety bar and loaded with plates. Works for me. Also buy a squat pad and cut it in half so your quads dont hurt

Good review. I have the hulkfit/EE halfrack and bought extra j hooks, dip bars, spot arms and plate holders a couple years ago. I did have the full rack like yours, but wanted to save on space, but in all reality, it would take the same amount of space, so I should have kept the full rack, but I didn't like the fact that using the weight plate holders make you lose some functionality of the rack. Hulkfit corporate office is 15 minutes away, so I drove there and picked up the landmine row handle and triceps pulley. I also have the open back team bar. For the price, u can't beat the quality

Good review, Thank You! You put me over the edge to buy when you pointed out that standard (1") weights can be used on the pulley system! Half my weights are standard. Great idea on the leg hold down for lat pull downs and good idea on adapting the 2" weight plate holder. About to order one.
Awesome video man, love the adjustment you made to it. Was wondering the same thing. I know another video changed the pull up bar to inside the bar instead of outside to adjust its center of mass (so it doens't tip) but I think your lat pull down attatchment and all the weights you have on it make that uncessary.
Yea I’ve never had a problem with it being unstable at all. Definitely because of the plates. And I got the cable attachments that help stabilize it also

Man A Little Bit Of Everything. I’d Be Here Forever Trying To Name Everything. Essentially Anything You’d Do With An Adjustable Cable Machine If It Was Set To Either All The Way Up Or All The Way Down. There Is One Slight Nuance With The High Pulley Where You Can’t Really Back Up Too Far For Things Like Face Pulls Etc. The Wheel Is Enclosed In A Way Where The Cable Rubs Against The Metal Of The Bracket Holding The Wheel In Place. It’s Designed To Only Go Straight Down For The Most Part.

@@sucramnosrekcid Yeah. The dimensions are fine. But it doesn't take into account that you'll be using the cables pushing them forward a bit so technically it needs more room than what they say. I might have to make the gym in my patio if its not enough space in the garage

The Rack Is Inexpensive But I Wouldn’t Call It Cheap. Ultimately The Decision Was Made Based On The Attachments This Cage Has. I Also Have The Cable Crossover Attachments Now. Cheap(inexpensive) Plates Will Wear Out Wayyyyyyyyyyy Before This Squat Cage Does. I Couldn’t Compromise There

One question i do have is how much travel distance do you get with the cable pull down before the weight holder hits the top? Say you doing a straight arm lat pull down, and your trying to pull the top cable from high, down to mid thigh level. Does it bang into the top?

You Can Squat And Bench Press Insidr The Rack. But Once You Out The Weight Plate Holders On The Plates Will Be In The Way. Also With The Lat Pulldown Attachment You Wouldn’t Be Able To Unrack Your Barbell From The Back If You Put It There But It Would Be Fine From The Inside Of The Front Post.
Just built mine and was wondering if the Lat Pulldown attachment gets in the way when ur going under the bar to do squats in the Cage. Thinking of putting the j-hooks on the other side if that's the case

I’d Call It Moderate Quality. It’ll Last A Long Time If You Treat It Like Home Gym Quality Equipment. It’s Very Sturdy But If You Treat It Like Commercial Quality Stuff It Wont Last More Than A Few Years. I Truly Feel Like It’ll Last Forever But That’s Just Because The Way I Treat My Gym
@@sammattbruce I ended up buying it. I would recommend weighing it down with plates before performing a pull up. It’s sturdy and won’t fall apart, but it can tip over if you’re not careful.

Why aren't J hooks are over safety pins inside rack? Pins are there to prevent you getting pinned by weight in case you can't finish the rep.
Product page says the lat pulldown is 84 inches high. Is that to the top of the lat pull down bar or top of the wheel that sticks out?

Appears to run significantly cheaper than a diy wood build that would require tools + basic carpentry skills.

The Holes Are 1 Inch. The Hulkfit Weight Plate Holders Are Designed For 2.5inX2.5in Uprights. Most Racks That Aren’t Rogue Or Rep Fitness Are 2inX2in.

Can you actually squat in side the rack .. do u have a problem re racking the weight or do squat outside
You Can Squat And Bench Press Insidr The Rack. But Once You Out The Weight Plate Holders On The Plates Will Be In The Way. Also With The Lat Pulldown Attachment You Wouldn’t Be Able To Unrack Your Barbell From The Back If You Put It There But It Would Be Fine From The Inside Of The Front Post.
Just built mine and was wondering if the Lat Pulldown attachment gets in the way when ur going under the bar to do squats in the Cage. Thinking of putting the j-hooks on the other side if that's the case
Actually the black bar on the floor with the foot rests are in the way when picking up the bar. Might have to face the other way for squats

No Problem. The Weight Plate Holders Pretty Much Eliminate My Ability To Use The Inside Of The Rack For Anything Besides The Lat Pulldown
@@sucramnosrekcid yeah I might not buy them for that reason. I can't seem to find any Spotter Arms that fit this cage anywhere so I'd rather max out inside the cage than rack some weights on it instead

I’d Call It Moderate Quality. It’ll Last A Long Time If You Treat It Like Home Gym Quality Equipment. It’s Very Sturdy But If You Treat It Like Commercial Quality Stuff It Wont Last More Than A Few Years. I Truly Feel Like It’ll Last Forever But That’s Just Because The Way I Treat My Gym

Are the weights on rack essential while doing pullups? In other words, would the rack becomes unstable without weights?
@@sammattbruce I ended up buying it. I would recommend weighing it down with plates before performing a pull up. It’s sturdy and won’t fall apart, but it can tip over if you’re not careful.

If You’re Serious About Training, You’re Gonna Have To Get A Regular Sized 7-Foot Barbell And Olympic Sized Plates At Some Point. You Want To Keep The FUTURE In Mind When Building A Gym, Not The Present
