- Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.), thirty-ninth president of the United States, served as president from January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981.
President Carter discussed his goals for the speech in his 1995 book, "Keeping Faith: Memoirs of a President," (University of Arkansas Press):
"I ... focused on those concerns that embodied my most important values--human rights, environmental quality, nuclear arms control, and the search for justice and peace."
This is an excerpt. The full speech can be found here: www.jimmycarterlibrary.gov/doc...
Founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter in partnership with Emory University, The Carter Center is committed to advancing human rights and alleviating unnecessary human suffering. The Center wages peace, fights disease, and builds hope worldwide.
great man
if only now we had a man as honest, & holding the greatest humanity to americans in office. Carter warned us of the road we were on, but we didn't listen.
PRESIDENT CARTER WAS A GREAT MAN
He brokered the Israel-Egypt peace deal. That was his only major policy acheivement but an important one.
Jimmy Carter was a good man and still is. He was just overwhelmed by the office of President of the United States. He would have been much better as an ambassador. A lot of people I talked to when I was young said they regretted voting for Carter and wish they had voted for Ford. They voted for Reagan in 1980.
Mothers are gr8, when he mentioned mother gave him a Bible, his mother’s gestures speaks! speeding speech reading went slower for him? Isn’t it! Some advisors bluff dishonesty trapped VIP as victims?! Guessing now the President hasn’t no pressure at all! Thanks to Rosalyn lovey 73 years together folks!?
Bkni ri internaasional papua
Yeah, we listened, and dumped Carter in 1980.
Not many missed him.
