  • President Barack Obama reflects on his past inaugurations.

    Part of an "Inaugural Reflection Series" produced for the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies on January 20, 2021 at the United States Capitol. The series features President Jimmy Carter, President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama and JCCIC Members Chairman Blunt, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Leader Steny H. Hoyer, and Leader Kevin McCarthy.

    Since 1901, and in accordance with the 20th Amendment of the United States Constitution, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) has been responsible for the planning and execution of the Inaugural Ceremonies of the President-elect and Vice President-elect of the United States at the Capitol.

      @@Bloodylaser I was an 11 month old baby back then, but when I grew up and watched the footage of a sea of American flags paved over the national mall, with cheers thundering the skies: I felt the same glory of this gran achivement of democracy rocking my bones. (sorry for sunding too poetic is that I am really big Obama fan aswell)

      @@mikaelleonbriones6356 I remember watching this inauguration with my family in the kitchen in the morning and I was only almost 4 years old at that time. Also this was my first inauguration ever in my lifetime.

      I was a senior in high school and every class had a tv attached to the ceiling and almost every class was watching it.

      Was in first grade when Obama was first sworn in, still remember till this day. Was a freshman in high school when trump took office in 2017, and was a freshman in college when Biden took office in 2021. Wow times really do change

    My fav is jfk hands down no president was more glamorous.they looked like movie stars.

    One of my favorite Presidents. I thank God I was born in this great nation on day I would love to run for President and if God willing I could win. Yes there benefits but honestly Presidents like Obama, Kennedy, LBJ George H.W bush, George W bush Eisenhower, other presidents, senators and icons to serve in public service. Being President of this great Nation one day is my dream. I pray to God for this moment to come if so I’ll make history being one of the few African American presidents ever elected.

    I would feel embarrassed to even bring up NASA when Obama was the one who ended that program. Trump re opened it and allowed the us to go back to space.

    What a lovely video but I still think Trump will go down as the greatest modern day president. It's truly sad the Liberals won't give him credit for the 2 terms he smashed into 1.

      ​​​​@@linkheroofspiritsakatrains4812 I wouldn't say they're great, but Bush Jr and Reagan were certainly consequential. I feel like Clinton was a steady hand in the 90s (domestically), but not particularly great or consequential. Bush Sr was also a steady hand (in terms of foreign policy), but not particularly consequential. I won't even get started on how I feel about Trump or Biden (although Biden does have some domestic accomplishments that I can't ignore).
