Is there an intelligent way to break through Watchtower's Blinders and reach the authentic humans inside?

If your sincere about learning about the Bible talk to someone who knows a little Hebrew and Greek , has studied Sumerian religion Kemetic(Egyptian) religion as well as the sanantanan dharma of the Hindus.
The biblical world never argues the existence of the invisible powers which move the minds of men and nations, it is the synthesis and reduction of them to mere symbols for the infinitely existent objective source of being.
Your problem is one of worldview misunderstanding, much of these stories are told in triple and quadruple entendre , if you care and or are humble learn how the people think to understand what they say.

Apart of the known Organisations like recovering from religion I highly recommend you a book from a German psychologist Stephanie Stahl - I linked it below. Our upbringing molded our self perception. As soon as you understand the dynamics you’ll be able to combat it.
This book was my life changer after leaving.

I appreciate the laughs and the sadness, it resonates with everyone. As JWs we always have an inferiority complex, a sense of persecution, but also ironically a sense that we are better than everyone else!!!

One thing I do to battle depression is do self affirmations every morning before getting out of bed as soon as my mind starts up and tell myself how great I funking am..it trains your subconscious

I used to meditate for 20min every morning but have gotten out of practice. While not doing any self affirmation perhaps I should get back into that

Everyone misses you but you haven't gone no where..they try to play on emotions but they really don't care bout your feelings
I do feel some people actually do care about my feelings. My family is not in that group though
HAHAAHAH, I know right! My husband is still in and he says oh so and so says they miss you and I hold up my phone and say they have my number if they really miss me why haven't they called or text. He actually looked puzzled when I said that. So the next time he says so and so says they miss you so I told them they should call you. Ah, my husband is awesome (even if he is still in).
I like the analogy of a friend that makes you feel comfortable but doesn't tell you the truth, it is so appropriate . I can say to,you are helping people.

Dearest Wally, I want to thank you for your honesty, vulnerability, and ways to make me smile as I've decided at 39 that I no longer want to be a Jehovah's Witness. You were one of the 1st ex jw channels I viewed. As you well know, I went through a flurry of varying emotions as my eyes began to open. Being single, my family asking me to leave, during a pandemic & knowing that I would definitely be dead to everyone I loved left me disoriented. Wally your channel helped me feel I wasn't alone. I'm goal orientated so it's difficult to reconfigure, yet freeing. Lol sometimes my mood is a contradiction, but I love being the authentic person I thought I was. Please tell them about the court case where 3 elders may go to prison for ca cover up, or non reporting. Watchtower is paying for there defense, but washing there hands of any wring doing.

I think you handled this really well. Having been in a roughly similar conversation though a word of warning. When you get through to someone like that the defensive thinking comes into play a little while later and some protective doubling down can result because the feeling is so uncomfortable and they embrace the friend who lies with open arms just to relieve the discomfort.
Very true. It's called the backfire effect. Tempting to make lots of holes in a person's certainty but sometimes the smarter (but harder!) thing is to only make one or two then walk away while they're still thinking about them.
Yup, that is my husband. So hard to watch. All I can do now, is win him without a word, right. If it works getting spouses in then hopefully it works getting them out. Fingers Crossed!

I cried right along with you, I too have been thrown away like trash and it hurts so bad. The world needs to see the pain this corporation causes. I read a book that really help with the pain of my mother leaving me when I was 3 yrs old. It's worth taking a look at and I hope you do. It's "Your Erroneous Zones" by Wayne Dyer. Sounds like you did a great job and may well have planted those seeds with elder 1. It hurt to hear that you struggle to love yourself like we love you, and I'm so, so sorry for your pain. Watchtower raised us to be selfless to a fault. Add to that a culture of guilt, and salvation through humility and you've got yourself a perfect depression storm. I used to consciously think "well I'm worthless but at least I give every scrap of my energy to helping others". Be careful of letting that be your identity. I know it is not my place to say this but I was exactly where you are now and just feel compelled to share what I learnt. If nothing else (and I do know how hard this is) when you talk to yourself in your head, imagine you are talking to your niece or nephew, and correct yourself accordingly. Be verbally kind to yourself, even if you don't mean it. The rest will follow. I'm sorry I know this is completely innapropriate for a RUclips comment. You absolutely do help people. And you will be able to help them even more when you learn to put yourself first. I promise. Sending love.

@@libbytaylor8247 The police said no further action. No case to answer. They have the right to preach, I have the right to protest. 😎 I havnt got the patience to make videos on a subject. I prefer just rocking up and seeing how the conversation goes.
I had a major breakthrough though. My cousin got hold of me after watching one of my videos. She had her CSA covered up as well. I managed to connect her with Lloyd Evans. He in turn, got her included in IICSA (English version of ARC)
She ended up being a key witness in court, and has had various interviews on RUclips. Also we have a whole branch of our family back, until this, we havnt seen them for the last 20 years.
Some might call that "Jehovahs guiding hand" 😅

I had a similar path as you Wally. Just a long time ago. I did my research over many of the same biblical passages in my 20s, learned to quit asking questions and because I was married with kids took about 15 more years to finally walk away. I thought about meeting with the elders, but decided just to send a letter saying that I no longer considered myself one of Jehovah's witnesses nor did I believe in the bible, nor the god of the bible. One really wonderful elder reached out to me and lovingly and respectfully made sure I understood what that meant. I did. And he also told me I was a good father and person and wished me well. I have not met with any of my old friends ever again in the 25 years since then. I'm ok with that now and have an amazing life since I began living true to myself. I followed watchtower advice: Make sure of all things and hold fast to what is fine.
I admire your strength, your humor and your perception. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Keep living your life as best you know how, and truthfully as you see it. Glad you didn't take as long as I did. Thank you.

I cannot tell you enough how much I admire your approach to this! You are so heartfelt and clearly had no desire for revenge or to go into this meeting to prove a point. So many get combative or defensive once the elders reach out. You sincerely want the truth to be known and you expressed yourself with logic and kindness... Why insult their humanity and intelligence by hiding from the elders when maybe, just maybe, you could help them? @2:09 Most people here reasoned their way out because the indoctrination cracked a little. Maybe a friend treated the person badly or the elder were rough or the person was disfellowshiped or something else. That allowed them to open their minds and seek the truth. But for JW fully indoctrinated and no cracks in the indoctrination... Speaking to them about anything bad about Watchtower is like wresting the wind. IMHO. It is harder when JW are in groups.
I watched this in three bits, everytime, I wished I could hug you. Sweetheart you are enough, just as you are. Thankyou for sharing your JW life, your life now, your humour, your love, your honesty, your everything with us.
I might never know you or meet you but in my heart, you are love personified. You deserve the very best.
I had the same experience. I did just what they said- pray and study. Then, when I found through my studies and prayers that the doctrines are false, everyone acted like I had the problem.
The sadness I felt when you talked about how can people from the org whom you considered to be friends and family could easily throw you away like you are nothing to them just because you fought for the facts and where the evidence suggests, is deep. I am with you too. I just sent my disassociation letter last day, and when the elder told me that I no longer have the right to communicate with any of the bro's and sisters in the congregation hurts me a lot. I will be announced this Friday.
I couldn't stomach the lies and facade love of this organization.

One of your wonderful friends shared your previous video with me (when it was released at the time) and I, a fellow exjw, just had to know what happened to you afterwards. My heart... your pain echos many of ours, but you said it so much more eloquently and empathically than most of us can manage. I too sincerely hope you gave at least one elder something to think about in terms of how just reading the Bible can awaken one to how incongruous the Truth and the Bible really are (which is also how I woke up as a child), and what that cognitive dissonance can do to a person's psyche when not allowed to voice such 'opinions'. Show them the cover of that Watchtower with those old men with the caption “this generation will not pass before Armageddon” or something like that, and share with them that scripture to watch out for false prophets who prophesy in Jehovahs name. I know they’ll bring up “new light” but ask them then by what criteria can you use to determine who’s a false prophet as the scripture warns against? One other thing, look into anti-depressants, eg Lexapro (generic). The generic is cheap, and yes money can buy happiness!

Ooommmggg....I'm been going craaaaazy waiting on ur update!! Love you bro. I'm sooo sorry bro the same thing I went through and many of us. I'm almost 50 yrs old and I found out the truth about the truth in Jan of 2017 ...just being reinstated for like 2 months after 26 yrs. All those years still believing, feel I was a piece of crap and self-esteem, second guess everything and every thought and action in my life! It was sooo Liberating but emotional and mental breakdown once finding out all those thoughts that I battle with still were all a lie!!!!!
Wally......you are soooo loved not just by all of us but by the true God of the Universe(not Jehovah). Please know that you are and always have been enough just by being you. You are helping so many people, please don't ever doubt your worth to those who don't see your value. I understand your pain. I am also being shunned by my mom, dad, brother, sister- in-law as well as many other relatives on my mother's and father's side. I have a neice and 3 nephews. I was the aunty who was there for 1 of my nephew's birth and even though I live in a different state from my brother, I would make the trip to see my neice and other nephews a few days after they were born as well as every chance I got over the years. I truly miss them dearly but not enough to EVER return to Jehovah's Witnesses because I know who they truly are representing. It is a tough journey to wellness but you will get through it, please be strong. We are all here to support you. ❤

You’re 100% correct that there CAN be good from talking to others, and saying they “just aren’t going to listen” doesn’t mean they never will. I know because I lived it. For 5 years my husband was PIMO, though I only knew the latter 3 years. During that time he said many things that made him feel like it was fruitless to talk about it. I often stopped him and said I didn’t want to hear something, that I couldn’t take it, that it was negative, that nothing would ever shake my faith - the more he said, the more I doubled down.
But he didn’t push me, he just wanted to be able to express himself. Through his incredible patience and fortitude, I finally began to listen. It took years but I don’t think I’d have gotten there if he hadn’t consistently expressed his thoughts to me. My best friend who left a decade ago, who I reached out to after I woke up, said she was completely shocked (though happy) to hear I left.
I was the type of JW that you’d think, She’ll never change, she’ll never hear me, there’s no point. And now I’m a die-hard atheist apostate lol. So I just wanted to agree with that part, if someone has the emotional strength to keep talking to a person who seems like they aren’t listening, THEY ARE. It’s a cult after all, it’s very hard to deprogram. Thank you for being so open with this video!

Wow Wally! I think you handled that meeting very well mostly. You were able to back up your concerns with evidence from a source they could accept. I do think you should’ve avoided questioning the legitimacy of scripture. For the most part I think you held your own very well. I think questioning scripture will be the nail in the coffin to legitimize DF’ing in their view. You left them no choice with that.

He was unique to your situation and not commonly experienced by most JW’s in your situation.
