- LG 49lb550 no image and blinking screen, just sound. Found no burnt leds, just bad led strips connections. Very easy fix, should last many years. All you need is a cheap soldering gun.

Got my 50" LG working! Thank you for the instructions. My screen would flash once, then go black but the power stayed on. I made an LED back light tester using a 12v power supply, then tested all strips and they were good. After checking the led strip connections, I found the culprit. It was just one of the connections in my case, which I tested by applying side pressure to the connection. When I did that, the lights all came on and would stay on as long as I kept pressure applied. Will get it soldered up now and should be good to go.
Fantastic! Did the same and no more flickering!!!
Easy fix. Yeah right.
Well done, my TV is no longer flashing. But I damaged the LCD during the repair....lol
My edge lit LG 55LM5800 tv backlight turns off after 20 -30 minutes. Theres a green led on the power supply board (LD701) that flashes 4 times after the leds turn off. Any idea what this code means or what the problem might be? I replaced the power supply board but backlight still turns off after 20 minutes or so. There is an image on screen when I shine a flashlight on the screen so Tcon should be fine?
SIMPLE AN DEASY THANKS FOR MAKING SUPER EASY
Thank you sooooo soooo much.
Thumbs up
But ill just buy a new tv.
Wow this just happened to mine not so bothered as it’s old and we’ve ordered a new one plus although I could fix this I’ll probably not put it back together correctly so in the bin it goes. However if I do give it ago I’ll be sure to comment the update thanks for the video
How'd you do?
You didn't explain how to get the last white sheet off covering the LEDS. it's fastened and I'm afraid to pull anything. Also how did you see your lights still flashing after we took everything apart?
You don't. Lightly use an Exact-o knife to make an H shape over the connector (you'll feel it) and peel back. I removed the tabs and last white sheet but his method is significantly easier.
I just did this repair and still is flickering about in intervals of exactly 1 second
thank you sir
Thanks Sir!
@1:57 The LCD connectors weren’t a part of this process. My panel cracked when trying to lift it out. In the trash it goes.
Mine is doing the same. I bought a new one tempted to mess with my old one.
what was used to solder on the connections? Are those wires looped on both sides? My LG 60LF6090 has the same problems so i'm hoping this video instructions helps.
Did you solve the problem?
Watched this for the music
Is it going to work if I only change the power supply board ? Cheers
So you still have to take everything off ..so its not easy ..if you get to the led strip might as well replace them
Heyy, how did you give connection to check whether LEDs are working or not??
you can use a cheap LED tester or a power suply or you can snap a few 9V batteries together. These LEDs use about 6V each.
So you plugged the tv back in??
How did you know the connections were not making contact?
through elimination. each row has 2 strips. when you apply power on each strip individually all led turn on. when you apply at one end of the row only one strip turn on.
How did you apply power to each individual strip?
@@arikamuellner2788 you can easily unplug the wire that powers the bottom strip or 2nd from the top (depending on where the lights aren't coming on), remove the connecting wires at the end of the next strip and substitute with the power.
Tenga su like 👍🏻
Did you use wire to solder the connections
Yes, thin wire from LAN or telephone cable.
@@curiousitech9807 thank you sir..
@@curiousitech9807 cant I just use the lead directly? 🤔
Ok not one bit of this is easy
Srsly.
Well said Red Es. I've done many of these jobs. The overwhelming majority of the time this is caused by LED failure which requires replacement of the LED strips. This is a very finicky and tedious repair. Things can go wrong at almost any stage. The bigger the screen the more perilous the repair. It is very easy to break the screen. If the screen is broken you will have to get a new TV because the screens, even if available, are not economical to replace.

Hop into an airplane. Ill quick give you pictures of how to fly. Its easy
Awesome well done man..
Did yours originally flicker as soon as you turned on?
Mine works perfect for 7 minutes after powering on.. then starts to flicker and flickers quicker and quicker with each blink (once the tv is warming up)
Could that be the power supply?
Yes, they were flickering all the time. If yours works for 7 mins all the time when you turn it on then it might be the power supply.
@@curiousitech9807 yeah my thoughts also, thanks for the reply man
@@TheHomeloanking Did you get a new power supply and did it fix the issue? We seem to be experiencing the same issue as you. TIA
@@sarahandrew7144 haven't done anything with it, can't help you atm.
I have same problem like you, then I opened it check led lights work fine at beginning, then few minutes later turn on and off. I saw the button half side is off all the time, the up half side turn to flash. I try to push the connector (where between led light )hard to make sure there’s no disconnect caused the light off. After I push one of them, the all led lights turn back to normal. Then I try turn tv on few times and stay on. The problem is gone. My mind is there is a disconnect problem between the led light connector. Hope this work to you too!
This didn't work although i had the same problem. I spent all this time wiring up these connectors the same way and the bottom led are still flickering
you have a row of bad leds.. replace them..
@@trainsplanesandotherthings5187 you're 2 months late I already did that.
Step one: Have a certificate in electronics repair. 🙄
RUclips certification 😉
Easy my ass
“Easy”
Only thing wrong here is the title of the video. Nothing is easy here. But thanks anyway
Easy fix buy a new TV simple
when you said sauder i said why bother
If you actualy want to get rid of this problem trow out this tv and buh a nother brand lile samsung or tcl. LG is bare junk. All of lg led tvs have yhe same problem. I had one and in just 1 week i started to see white spots on the tv.it sucks.lg sucks.i jave a samsung for 11 years now and its working perfect. Never goten a problem NEVERRR. LG SUCKS
@GTA 6 mine after 2 years
Mine started flickering after 1.5 years. And also, all the HDMI ports fell off to the back of the TV after 2 years (do they glue them with just saliva or what?). I really didn't abused the TV, but LG is really an awful brand, considering that when I bought my house every major electronic (incl kitchen appliances) that came with the place was brand new LG. I have had issues with EVERY single one of the products, starting as early as 4 months. I've saved so many others from buying LG after they've seen fist hand all the issues I've had with all of their products. Never again.
my lg tv doesn't flicker when i watch netflix in it but as soon as i change it to youtube or hdmi it starts flickering again idk what is the problem i called lg service they visited my house and they told us there is default in display but now i don't think there is prob wd display
