These last few series of lessons have made a massive difference, especially to my chipping and pitching. My playing partner couldn't believe the quality of my chipping the other day. they have also given me a fixed "imprint" in my mind as to what the golf swing should feel like. Can''t thank you enough Danny.

This is gold. Recently, I watched your short game lesson with Pete Cowen, which was great too. I heard a lot about Mr. Cowen but only started watching some of his content after watching him with you. He teaches this method to keep the head stable by using opposing forces from the fingers on the grip, as if wringing water out of a wet towel. I think this technique will be miraculous with the methods you have in this lesson. Thank you, Danny.

Danny, I just have to tell you that I’ve been golfing on a range for one month, trying desperately to get good enough to go out with my dad before he can’t play anymore. I couldn’t hit anything at all. If I did, it was always strongly to the right, but usually I just topped the ball or hit it fat.
    Then I found this video.
I did your exercises for 10 minutes at the range today. That’s it. Then I hit my 7 iron, and it was like I was a whole different person. I hit an entire large bucket, and God as my witness, every single shot went high, straight, and consistently at my target and ON the target, like I had been playing for years. I was literally cackling like a lunatic with every swing because I could not believe what I was doing and seeing.
    Thank you, sir.

When you’ve perfected your over-the-top move, like I have over the last 11 years, you’ll do these drills and wonder how it’s possible to hit the ball. But once your sub-conscious and your mind align, you’ll realize that these moves simplify the golf swing so much and open the door to a momentum-driven, flowing swing. Thanks, Danny, for clarifying Cowen’s concepts for the masses. You deserve every subscriber you have.

I too found these 3 exercises to be absolutely enlightening. After just one hour of doing them out on the range, I suddenly started hitting the ball straight down the fairway, 30+ yards farther, and with almost no effort at all. I did it over and over. Astounding. At this point, several weeks later, I've been working this method of swinging into all of my clubs (up through 9). The challenge is letting go of my old habit of trying to power the club through the ball and replacing it with this new body motion. But it's black & white - either I'm using this new swing or I'm using my old swing. It's so clear. I've watched a lot of your videos and can easily say this has been THE most important one of all. It is teaching me what no coach or class has ever shown me... exactly how the club needs to move through the swing motion. Thanks so much!

Pete Cowen is the best teacher in the world. Period. Hee stresses drills, and doing drills at home. Look up the drill Henrik Stenson does every day (Cowen taught it to Stenson). When I'm at the range, I do 3 "drills/feels" between each ball. It's making a huge difference. You can't "learn this", or make the changes, while playing on the course. The other thing about Pete Cowen's technique is that it's repeatable, and very consistent. There is no "timing" (flipping the wrists at the bottom, etc). Cheers!

Danny Maude, you're the best! I've struggled with the driver for 10 years as my ball was going left/right/straigth to the woods or just nowhere. A decent drive once a week or so. Used to have a good 250 m drive but that's all gone after some surgeries. I've watched a few of your videos about 2 months ago and now I have 4 good drives out of 5. I keep saying 101 every time I drive. And look, I've seen at least 15 different golf pros, all of them excellent players, but they simply cannot teach like you.

Another excellent simple instruction Danny which you make look so easy! My biggest challenges as a senior golferare ensuring there’s no early extension during the backswing and secondly clearing the hips to get the face square to the ball - the latter is the hardest to avoid becoming ‘flicky’ at the end of the swing!!

I’ve been watching a lot of Pete Cowen videos lately and well done in breaking down the key components, the arm and wrist action (ie your axe drill) coupled with correct pivot is key. Maybe focus a bit more on the correct hip action and hip tilt, as most people turn their hips too flat and don’t correctly recentre by top of back swing?
One drill which has really helped me to get my brain to trust it actually works is stopping at the top in the correct position and then hitting the ball with the arm/axe action initiating in order to sync the two movements together - as Pete says it is critical your arms are down towards right trouser pocket before your shoulders turn the corner, whereas most people turn their shoulders way too quickly.
Great video and cements a lot of my own (or shall I say Pete Cowen’s!) thinking on the correct golf swing movement, so thank you.

Well with the success I've been having following your instructions I will be sure to take this up. I think it might have helped already though. I was on the range before my round today and after setting up I did just one thing. I turned my hips just a fraction and found that all of the sudden I started coming in under the plane and hitting draws. And during the round I have to give credit to Pete's chipping tips in an earlier video of yours. I get a ton of practice chipping because I'm lucky enough to have a little 80 yard wedge range right outside my back door, but Pete's tips seem to have brought me to a new level. I don''t think I've had a chip outside 5 feet all week and I get in 18 about daily. My container holding quarters for the skins game we play here at home is now too full. lol Please thank Pete for me.

Putting less strain on your body and learning the feellings and putting it into practice hitting 50 balls rather than hitting 100s of balls.
A Great break down AND GREAT advice Danny . ⛳👍😎

Excellent video explaining a great drill very clearly. The first part of the drill is excellent for getting/understanding the feel
of the club momentum. The method for the pivot routine is right on, the club falls into place on the third movement.
I did this drill for two days in a row and then went to the driving range. What a huge difference in my control of the ball.
I had more consistent shots that were closer to the center line and the shot distance per club averaged better.

I think it's helpful to teach that it's perfectly fine to turn your hips in the backswing. This helps you complete the turn and get those big muscles in the proper position before swinging through.

I am very intrigued by these drills. Two are very similar to some I've seen before but explained in a way that really make sense to me about how it should feel and one that totally turns a previous thought on it's head about the arms in the downswing. I'm going to run through these when I get home and see how they feel.

Another great video Danny. Your quiver / chopping feel really works for me. Some believe they should drag the club and turn but it really needs to be thrown or released as soon as the downswing starts. This reminds me of the Malaska Move.

Great video, these sort of drills got me down to 4hcp at 62yo!.My Go To drill, is grip on hip ,hands in middle of shaft, which is obviously close to these. But revisiting the chopping drill has improved my arm strike and made my body move slightly more rotational.Cant wait for county match next week!

Hey Danny. What a great tip! For some reason my swing the last few weeks has been a bit off. Hitting thin shots which I have not done in god knows how long and also a few fat shots thrown in for good measure. Even while practicing hitting into the net I started getting the dreaded "S" word! Thankfully it was only temporary as it didn't follow me onto the course. But still the consistency has not been there which is frustrating as nothing has changed in my swing. I haven't tried this enough yet, but I hit about 30 balls today. I used an 8iron which is a club for some reason I don't normally get along with. After putting this feel into practice my word! What a difference my swing feels and more powerful! I have seen the pulling of a chain and other techniques to get into the downswing but this just resonates with me. Now to keep using these feels with the other clubs and putting it into work on Sunday. Thanks mate for the easy to follow tips and advice as always. The way you break down the swing is so easy to understand. Thankyou!

Great exercises. One thing that I need to do with the last exercise is to feel my left arm pulls down, and/or pull the arrow from the quiver to start that movement to keep the right side momentarily quiet so I don't come over the top in my path down. If I pull down with my right arm, sometimes there can be some degree of this over the top move. Thanks again for sharing these gems.
