  • How to hit the golf ball first. This video shows you how to make solid contact with the ball so that you can strike the ball then the turf. With one easy swing drill learn how to achieve a professional looking impact position no matter your age or ability.
None of us can swing like Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka or Rory McIlroy but we can learn to feel something similar at impact.
The easy swing drill reveals how golfers can naturally move their bodies to create ball first contact.
If you find that you strike the ground behind the ball or tend to feel a weak contact with your golf shots the easy swing drill will really help.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

There are umpteen golf channels on YT, many of them obsessing over clubs and gizmos. This is a breath of fresh air. Clear, to the point and logical. Most players would benefit from this drill, not just the beginners.

this video saved my golf game, cannot stress enough how game changing the “throwing the club” is. i’ve always seen people say hit down on the ball, watched countless videos on compressing the ball. first time i started visualizing throwing the club i started hitting pure iron shots more often than miss hits. thank you for this

I’ve been struggling with the golf swing for years but this video is what changed everything for me. The idea of throwing the clubhead at the ball is what did it. I immediately started hitting solid shots. Now it’s just a matter of accuracy and consistency. I’m working on that. Thanks Dan

I've always struggled with my irons. Until today. I followed Danny's advice and I was quite happy that I wasn't chunking the ball today. I was hitting it right about 80% of the time. Just like you said, work on accuracy and consistency to really enjoy this wonderful game. Thanks Danny.

Danny, you have been kind enough to respond to two of my inquiries, and I want to return your kindness.
I realized (as a 70 y/o beginner) that I wasn’t swinging correctly because I couldn’t balance myself on my left (lead) leg. So I spent over two months every day just standing on that leg.
Then -gradually- I would turn my hips. Then after the two months, I practiced leaning with my hip to the left and shoulders otherwise- all standing on my lead leg.
It’s not a quick fix, but now I’m comfortable making the necessary weight shift. I have “lag”, and my 7 iron has gone from 125 yds to 155 or more. I finish upright and facing well towards the flag.
I’m hoping you can improve this self-made drill, because my problem all along turned out to be balancing on my lead side as a beginner.
God bless you. Your videos helped get me started at a time in life when I hear most golfers ate hanging it up. I’m

Watched it when I got into work at 7:45 am and then went and practiced at my local park at lunchtime and immediately started hitting the ball straighter and further. Danny, I am 57 years old and haven't played in many years so I am pretty much a new player. I embarressed myself on the course a few weeks ago. couldn't hit any club at all. I have watched your driving videos and now have that worked out. I was just out on the driving range practicing the drills in this video and wow! what a complete turn around. Thank you so much for these videos and especially for the easy and basic way you explain the golf swings. They make so much sense to me and now I feel that I can at least go out on the course and not make a fool of myself. Thank you, thank you. Peter F. Fort Myers Florida

Danny, great job! I used to golf at least once a week, and practice almost everyday. I was an honest 9-10 handicap. I had arthritis in both hips and my swing changed as both hips got worse. My swing got to the point of being a "rocker" because I lost movement in my hips. I would rock rearward on the back swing, and then forward on the front swing to obtain weight transfer. Well... It got to the point I could no longer play golf. However, I had both hips replaced 1.5 years ago and someone invited me golfing. I found my swing was still a rocking swing. My new hips worked so well...NOTHING in my golf swing felt right, nothing. After trying your drill (5 times) I can clearing see EXACTLY what I have not been doing, and it is the move (uncoiling) that I need to focus my new swing on. This is the most difficult move for anyone one learning golf to master, however, with this drill...it completely makes sense. Thank you for sharing.

I don't normally write but after today's practice round I was left amazed and gob smacked walking away with +3 after 9 hole and I play off 20!
I've never really had trouble with my balance I've always felt that to be good. However, I was also of the same mind that the club went forward, until I discovered this and realised about keeping the butt close to the body as well as discovering throwing the club and 'casting'. I also took your advice from "How to Nail your backswing Takeaway" video and all together today I hit some of the best shots and approaches I have ever hit. From chipping to pitching and even out of sand this all worked and applied.
Thank you so much, your a great teacher.

The exercise has been recommended to me several times by my teachers. But only now have I understood the meaning / context. Positioning the right foot virtually behind the ball is crucial. Thank you for the excellent explanation and visualisation!
By the way: by pushing my hips forwards and tilting my upper body backwards at the same time, I not only tend to hook and make fat hits, but also put a lot of strain on my spine in the sacrum area - with the effect of massive pain for many years.

I watched one of your chipping lessons and used it for my irons centering my weight on the front foot 85%. Approx. Got improvement for irons and driver. I m a six-handicapped 67-year-old. Sub'd, 30 years ago when I took lessons from our club pro. This was one of the drills that he had me perform in order to help transition from hitting it straight to creating a draw. this is also a tremendous drill for balance. I had no idea I could use this as a drill for making contact better.

Hey Danny. Thankyou for the content! I wondered if you could advise me at all... I tried this drill at the range today, to see what would happen. What it showed was that I swung underplane loads and hit either big draws or behind the ball... But, I was balanced. Although I severely lifted up and somehow managed to keep balance 😂. Any thoughts?

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  4 года назад

Make sure your trail foot from a feet together position goes straight back and not outwards and back as this would give you too much balance and allow you to get too much under the plane.
If this is good ask yourself are your dots lined up. You may need to feel the the torso is slightly more over the lead hip at impact

    • @rupertmcphee3522
      @rupertmcphee3522 4 года назад

@@DanielMaude thank you for the response! Yeah, it is straight back. I just manage to move my hips forward and my head up to whilst swinging. Surprised I cab manage that. I will try with my torso over my lead leg

This drill is brilliant. I used it and immediately began hitting the ball better. I have battled away for years. Thank you this has changed my irons. The only confusion I have now is my driver. I hit it all over the place. Thank you so much I actually hit the green with an approach shot after using this drill :)

After years of swinging “ down the line” I tried swinging the downswing on a arc. I immediately heard that nice “ crack” that one gets with compression of the ball and my body turn through the finish seemed effortless. Combine this lessen with “ Swing The Handle” by Alex Fortney and you should see immediate improvement.

Had a back operation 5 weeks ago only started playing golf again July last year after a 6 year lay off due to a really bad back injury . Took that long to recover enough to play again practiced constantly day after day at the range and the golf club i joined . I used the feet together drill to start with my ball striking started to get really good start the beginning of this playing great considering. But due to alot of back problems during the summer having to take time off to recover . Then start playing again subsequently my game has deserted me just had another 5 weeks off after a procedure to repair nerve damage . Played to today for the first time in 5 weeks had a shocker that bad i nearly walked off and give the game up forever as my iron game was exactly as you described I hit tops or weak hooks ,which is so frustrating as I used to hit a very powerful iron , came home discovered your video on RUclips now i am determined to work hard and use your drill start from the beginning again . So thanks keep up the good work as your videos are easy to understand and follow with great tips on technique . Thank John.

Good video! One tip I heard or read somewhere that has helped me tremendously is to imagine the ball as a clock face with 12 pointing/facing the target. Now you want to imagine making club contact with the ball at 7 o'clock. It's absolutely impossible to do if you're 'casting' the club. To hit 7 o'clock you must get your hands and body ahead of the club. Helped me a bunch to imagine this as I swing, hopefully this helps someone else out there. Hit em well folks!

Wow. Makes so much sense. I'm one of those who gets hooked on 'guiding' the club. Very wrong. I was a pitcher when I played baseball. In the early years I was 'guiding' the pitch often, just to insure the ball went where I wanted it to go when throwing fastballs. Very wrong according to my coach. Just relax and 'throw' the ball making full use of the rest of my body as usual. Just like what Danny says about 'throwing the club' and doing all the other body movement as usual. HUGE difference now with all of my clubs.
