  • SIMPLE GOLF TIPS - HIT THE BALL THEN THE TURF
    In this video Rick Shiels PGA golf professional shows you exactly how to hit the golf ball with your irons to ensure you hit the ball first and turn after!
    If you take huge divots with your golf club before the golf ball, you will find you lose power, distance, consistency and feel. With these simple tips you will hit your golf irons, longer, higher, straighter and more consistently. So you can lower your golf scores and lower your handicap!

    Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RUclips channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
    I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
    I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
    I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
    On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

    This for me is the most important tip I’ve ever seen. I’ve been told a million times to keep my head still.

    • @austi16
      @austi16 3 года назад +1

      You do keep your head still. You just slide your body for forward a little while you start coming down

    • @bigboy9842
      @bigboy9842 3 года назад +2

      Yeah you’re still keeping you head still

    • @the1mexicant
      @the1mexicant 3 года назад +4

      And you will keep getting told that until you stop looking up at the shot

    • @austi16
      @austi16 3 года назад +3

      the1mexicant looking up at the shot makes you have a longer and more extended follow through keeping your head down too long bunches your neck and you follow through with no extension. 99.9 percent of your pros look up at the ball. Tiger probably does it the most but all of them do it

    • @No_one_important22
      @No_one_important22 3 года назад +4

      austi exactly. Tiger was always taught to keep his eye on the ball through the whole shot so he can get the best follow through. Where some golfers make the mistake is lifting the head too early which can cause your body to follow and a bad strike b

      What helped me a little is actually the feeling of putting more weight on my left leg (righty) and barely turning in the backswing and just follow through regularly

    Seeing the position of that divot in relation to the ball is extremely helpful. I would not have guessed that it should be 2-3 inches in front of the ball. I always thought is should be starting directly under the ball. And I wonder why I hit it fat so often. Something to work on. Thanks Rick.

    I remember just starting out in golf, I was always told the way to effectively hit a golf ball, was ball first, grass after. Never could do it until really focusing on videos like this, now taking a divot every time, and distance of the ball comes flying off the face! Unbelievable and absolutely incredible feeling it is!!! Thanks coach!
