HIT 👍 if you want more coaching videos
This video is very helpful. Where I seem to have trouble is when the ball is down or up hill. Is there an adjustment needed for these these lies?
Not helpful
@colten how can this posibaly not be helpfull when you reply when the video came out 10 mins after you mentioned this video and the video is 8.30mins long I hate spiteful people who say this
Yes rick.
again with brilliant tips! thanks !
Really like how added the component of the shoulder into this video. I feel like that has been my issue. Thanks Rick! Cheers!
This for me is the most important tip I’ve ever seen. I’ve been told a million times to keep my head still.
You do keep your head still. You just slide your body for forward a little while you start coming down
Yeah you’re still keeping you head still
And you will keep getting told that until you stop looking up at the shot
the1mexicant looking up at the shot makes you have a longer and more extended follow through keeping your head down too long bunches your neck and you follow through with no extension. 99.9 percent of your pros look up at the ball. Tiger probably does it the most but all of them do it
austi exactly. Tiger was always taught to keep his eye on the ball through the whole shot so he can get the best follow through. Where some golfers make the mistake is lifting the head too early which can cause your body to follow and a bad strike b
Literally thinking about why I can’t do this as I clicked on RUclips, what timing!!! Thanks rick, helped so much.
What helped me a little is actually the feeling of putting more weight on my left leg (righty) and barely turning in the backswing and just follow through regularly
It’s because your being tracked my brotha. Say something you wanna eat, within the next 24 hours you’ll see an add correlated with the topic.
Same
Massively the same!! Tried it today... F me, game changer!!
Same haha
Seeing the position of that divot in relation to the ball is extremely helpful. I would not have guessed that it should be 2-3 inches in front of the ball. I always thought is should be starting directly under the ball. And I wonder why I hit it fat so often. Something to work on. Thanks Rick.
Used these tips on the course today and shot my best ever round (12 shots less than usual). Thank you Rick 👍
I remember just starting out in golf, I was always told the way to effectively hit a golf ball, was ball first, grass after. Never could do it until really focusing on videos like this, now taking a divot every time, and distance of the ball comes flying off the face! Unbelievable and absolutely incredible feeling it is!!! Thanks coach!
This is such a great tip for beginners. For the longest time I thought you were supposed to have a divet before the ball.
Avengers: The Investing Initiative don’t be a jerk??? He was wrong, now he’s not. No need to put down a beginner for doing something wrong.
@Avengers: The Investing Initiative Because to hit the middle of the club your head may have to be in dirt so you can lift the ball more. Lol the hell dude foh
This is literally so helpful! Will put into practice tonight on my round! Great video Rick!
Love the videos Rick! I just started really playing a month or two ago. The videos are much needed!
Happy to see someone with good reach on the internet actually talk about 1 of the 3 fundamentals in golf
and described in a good way
nice work Rick!
You make it so easy to learn how to play consistent, quality golf as an amateur. In a couple months I’ve gone from hitting in the low 100s to hitting 89 on par 72 twice in a row last week.
Great video, perfect for what i needed after struggling with this over the last round 👍🏻👌🏻
Your coaching videos are simple but effective. I have used many of them and finally seeing an improvement, this will be added to my routine on the practice range, thanks again.
Boom!! Finally I can hit the ball properly and not behind it like I have been! Lining the ball up with my sternum has been the best tip for me. I just had my best EVER session. I've never hit them so sweetly. Thanks for the videos, tips and podcasts. Enjoying them all. Much appreciated, Brian S from Sydney.
Wow thank you Rick, this might be one of the best videos I’ve seen to help us weekend warriors hit more solid shots. Seems very easy to work on and I’ll be doing this next range session.
It’s videos like this that makes Rick the best teacher on RUclips. Went to the range this morning after watching this video and my ball striking was fire! By the end of the bucket my divots looked like his which I could never do before. Dude this video was amazing! Thanks Rick!
This is what I’ve been struggling with. This video helped so much. Thank you
I watched this video this morning and went out in the afternoon and shot one of the rounds of my life. Been struggling a bit with the swung after taking some time off golf but your videos have helped tremendously get my swing back. Thanks Rick.
thanks, i have been struggling with irons lately, driver/fairway woods swing is in good shape need to work on irons/this more
Perfect timing Rick! Going to the range in 3 hours! Love you!
Great advice and practice techniques. You inspired me to start playing golf again after a 10 year hiatus. My first outing back I shot lower using your tips than my buddies that had been playing more frequently. Granted none of us shot great but I had confidence in my shots throughout the round.
I've watched every one of your coaching videos and still learn something new every time!
Bravo Rick. Always good to see techniques spelt out in layman‘s terms. Definitely a confidence booster. Keep them coming.
This is the one thing I really need to work on, thank you for the tips! I pick it clean too much and tend to hit slightly left. Heading to the range! Have a good day Shielsy!
Love using this drill! Great video Rick👍🏼. It’s crazy how different the iron swing and the driver swing are.
My golf nemesis - been bettering it lately though. Much thanks to you!
It’s always a good day when Rick posts! Your tips have helped me in my game IMMENSELY. Much appreciated for your videos.
This is so helpful it gives me a visual to focus on when swinging it helps a lot
Many of your lessons have helped improve my game Rick, and I always seem to take away something positive. Cheers!
Well I have to say thanks to you Rick I have been watching you videos on how to use a driver and today I used a driver for the first time on a a golf course and I have to say your tuition Videos are wright on the money. Thanks again 👍 now I'm going to try this .
I cannot tell you how much of a difference this made. Thank you so much Rick!
I found it !!!
After watching for the 3rd time this week it clicked.
It is rotating trail shoulder pass the ball BEFORE the strike that proved the lesson. Half an hour of practice on mat already showing improvements. But i can only do it at lower speed maybe at 60 or 70 percent. faster swing feel a very flatened shoulder plane.
Keep practice and THANK YOU.
Mu cho gracia señor.
hey rick, just wanted to say, im a new viewer, and new to golf, and i have watched a ridiculous amount of your videos, i love them! I would like to say, out of every video ive watched to help improve my game and gold swing, you are the only person that has been able to help me out with my swing. thank you so much! keep up the great work. I know im not the only one who feels this way :)
Every week I watch one of your videos and work on those drills, today's video led to my best range session EVER! easily put 15-20% more distance and height. Cant wait for next weeks
Yes! Was finaly able to hit my first long and good iron shoot! Big thanks for this video Rick!
Love the instruction for the right shoulder
I really appreciate all the videos and tips! I’m headed to Florida with my Dad to play golf at his condo in Destin. Can’t wait to try out all the stuff I’ve learned and practiced.
I needed this! Thanks, Rick! This should help a lot of golfers.
Something I've always known I need to do but always struggled with - this is brilliant cheers Rick 😁👍
Great content, Rick - you break this fundamental into simple but highly effective parts of a swing. Keep 'em coming!
Great work, Rick. I’ve struggled with this for years. Thank you!
Your videos have improved my golf game by 10+ strokes this year. I'm consistently in the 80s now vs. the 90s. Thank you ... thank you...thank you!!!
This is what I was having a problem with yesterday and turned RUclips on to find and you had just posted it, unreal thanks
Lovely couple of tips. Love the simple visualisations... I'll take this to the range this weekend. Love your videos and simple tips!!
Probably the best tips I’ve seen on this topic. Coming from someone who is so inconsistent with my irons, I can’t wait to try these out. Great video rick
Always give me so much to think about! Thank you for the coaching tips!!
Best tips ive seen to address my problems.
Back into Golf the past 6 months. Was down at c4HC and a lot younger, lots of great content, helping on the range and course. Top man, most enjoyable
I’m on my 7th round 8th tomorrow and improving a lot. It’s like Rick has taught me. Really enjoying golf wishing I started years ago.
Definitely gonna be implementing these this morning at the range!
How did it work out for you? Curious
@@oatanton it definitely helped, my whole swing needs fixed though lol
This video was a huge help! I went to the range today with a camera to see why I was struggling. Turns out I wasn't swinging through the ball well. I often dropped my shoulder or even leaned back. Focusing on coming through the ball, shifting my weight forward through the swing, and finishing high was a game-changer. I'm hitting it cleaner, harder, and even a bit straighter! I still have work to do, but I can't wait to get back out on the course.
I have been following rick for a while now and I have improved my game enough that I now am playing from the point of the tee box instead of the men's tees, and I have not used more strokes! I really look forward to playing on sundays now also going to range 1-2 times a week helps. Thanx for the tips rick. Very big help!
Thank you Rick. Simply put but not as easy fir us amateurs. But it gives us points of reference to focus on at the range to achieve this ultimate strike.
Awesome tips, sir! Never heard them articulated quite this way, definitely going to try these things.
Brilliant Rick!! Loving these tips. Please keep em coming.
Thank you Rick, what an amazing video!! I’ll have those tips in mind when I hit the range!!
Perfect video for me have been really struggling with hitting irons consistently
I needed this so much! Thanks very much Rick! Much appreciated sir
This is a brilliant video. Just what I needed. Really struggling with this. Thanks Rick!
I think this one your best teaching videos yet. Thanks Rick.
Thanks for the refresher its good for me to just see the visual again sometimes
Thanks for the video Rick!!!
Just fixed this exact thing on the range 30 mins ago, great information and just the things my coach told me to do. Thanks Rick
@Rick Shiels Golf I found this video looking through some of your older stuff. This is a great lesson and I appreciate it!
Best golf advice/lesson I’ve ever watched!!! Has helped my game immensely!!! You do an amazing job teaching concepts By keeping it simple!!! Thank you for helping me improve my game!!!!!
Great reminders! Love the tee peg analogy which I hadn't heard before. Will keep that in my head when swinging!
Great video, Rick! I think this will help with my irons for sure. I have always been what I hear is called a “picker” of the ball, basically picking the ball off the turf at the very bottom of my swing and not taking a divot. I think this video and drills will help that. Thanks!
I literally struggled for ages, I then just pictured hitting down on the ball in my backswing and it legit made my body and hips early rotate towards the target and I just started hitting clean divot shots I was amazed, still a lot to learn but I was very happy
Thanks Rick, i practiced incorporating the suggestions in your video and my shots were much more consistent then earlier. They even went further 😀
This is exactly what i needed. I’ll go to practice later and comment here my result. Thanks again Rick.
Great video Rick all of these coaching videos have helped improve my game massively, keep up the great work, I am a massive fan of this channel and all your videos.
Tip 3 is new! Worked for me!!! Slick Rick did it again! Woohoo
Thank the Lord for this video! Have been wondering; your videos have been a massive help to my golf game.
Love these type.of videos, thanks rick!
Thanks Rick so much for these tips
Rick...your the best guy on here for golf instructors! Good work!
Absolutely fantastic! Read my mind. I take such deep divots, I get great ball flight but I know I am losing distance. I really need to power through the shot in order to get as much distance. Perfectly timed video!
Can’t wait to try these tips!
Wow, I needed this one, thanks Rick!
Really helpful to get me to remember as this has been an issue I've severely lacked strike recently
Great video! Really needed some tip like this! Thank Rick!
Thanks for the tips Rick!!
Great video ones again.
I definitely gonna try this next time on the course. Thanks Rick.
Rick thanks a lot your videos are amazing
One of the only channels I pretty much hit like every time I watch a video. Quality content, cheers Rick 👍🏼
Explained very well! each point was well presented and important for helping golfers play better and have more enjoyment from the game we all love.
Hey Rick, love your videos and still having a lot of trouble with my irons, more breaking bad habits and trying to connect sweetly, but another issue with a lot of golfers and definitely with me, is the bunker shots, including down slope and up slope. Would be awesome to see how this is to be performed properly only to confuse me more 😂 keep up the great work, always look forward to your new tips👍
I found Rick Shiels golf videos a few months ago, and started implementing these tips into my game. I have taken 10 strokes off my score and gained 25-30 yards off the tee. Awesome videos!
Thx. I needed that refresher
Great tips Rick, I'll try to put them into practice next weekend!
Just love your Explenations and Your Directions, watching some of your videos have shaved some points off my score for sure, so thanks mate
You are the best whoever is resding this
This is my number one struggle! Great tips, thanks Rick!
Thanks rick took some vids yesterday at the range and thought I was getting my hands in front till I see ur slow mo and there about right 👍👍
Phenomenal and so informative. Thanks Rick!
Buenísimo. Sencillo, claro y directo. Me gustan tus videos.
Un abrazo desde Asturias, norte de España.
Loving the guides Rick!
Love the video. Very very helpful and certainly to remember when on the course. Love your content. CONGRATS!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Been practising that this week. One of the things I tried out this week was after setting up, I focussed on the front of the golf ball not the back. Wow. What a difference for me. Could clearly hear the difference. That technique worked with the irons but not the hybrids or woods. Give it a try. I was amazed at the difference.
