Such important stuff. Thats the swing right there. Question, its still important to keep tilt through the swing correct? Seems golfers including myself will put a lot of the weight on the back foot to keep that tilt.

No joke, Best instructor on You Tube. Three weeks ago, I was struggling with contact and not getting anywhere. I watched Danny's video where he helped Liam Harrison with this. This video is essentially an extension of that one. I worked on those feelings he describes and saw immediate improvement. This week I am playing the best golf of my life. I am striking the ball cleanly, getting more distance out of my shots and have shot back to back rounds in the 70's for the first time ever. THANK YOU Danny!

The concept of emulating the feeling of tossing a ball is taking all the anxiousness out of my swing issue. Toss it high, toss it low, short, far, always with rhythm, never short and quick. I’m going to first start rehearsing my swing as a one handed toss to get the image in my head, then move to a regular rehearsal swing before the shot.
    Great lesson! Thanks. ⛳️🏌🏽

As an amateur golfer with plenty of (golf) issues, I have to say this is one of the best 15 mins of instruction I've seen. Amateur brains (at least mine) wrongly think that 'hanging back' should help get the the ball into the air - rather than thinking the club can only do its work if one commits to the swing by moving weight as you describe. Thanks for this - great stuff!

Danny this is a game changer for me. I've only been golfing for a year after playing baseball and softball for over 50. I've been struggling with a huge slice on my driver and have tried everything - including additional lessons. The concept of pushing my hip back is the FIRST time this has been spoken. I can't want to go to the range later today and try it out! I took a few practice swings in my backyard just now with this concept and I could already feel the difference! Thank you!

The most difficult part of this move is to be patient with the hands or the mind doesn't trust the move, so it throws the hands. If the hands (throwing/flipping the club) take over, the hips and upper body will not move, they become the pivot point for the arms and hands instead of the body... I am a bit lazy, I have a tendency to swing to the ball and quit. I'm not finishing the swing (at best a lazy follow through), when I execute this move correctly the follow through is effortless. The swing momentum produces a full follow through. My follow through is my best swing analyzer, If I get handsy or flip the club, I have no follow through, if I swing to hard I'm off balance... Thanks for posting...

This has got to be one of your best training videos. I struggle a bit with my back and have lost distance with drives and irons over last two years. I played a few rounds recently combining these techniques with your ‘best senior swing’ technique (right foot back and flared etc). The results were excellent. More consistent straight drives and irons with added distance. Sometimes I do not move the left leg back enough or quick enough on the down swing so end up chunking the ball or pulling left so I need to keep working on that. Always used to try and move the weight from right to left (I am a right hander) turning the hips and I just used to keep thinning irons or hitting them heavy and also lost distance with my drives. This has fixed everything. Thanks Danny !

    Hi Danny,
Just a short note to add my experience with pushing back on the lead foot instead of using the turning concept. I agree but the key to pushing back the lead hip is to ensure pressure is on the front balls of the lead foot when you do so as this greatly adds to the ability to push back the lead hip. If the pressure is on the heel of the lead foot, pushing back the hip is much more difficult to get the lead hip out of the way and creating space..

Really great video, Danny. That move coming down where you sort of sit into your left heel, then push off that left heel while pushing your left butt cheek up and back, that is the key move that we amateurs struggle with. It’s the main power source of the golf swing. And if you get too much weight shifted to the right leg going back, that move is nearly impossible. After watching this video I realized that has been my problem, over-shifting to the right side on the backswing. After just a few swings keeping my weight more centered going back, my ball striking immediately improved. It’s important to note that you do not “hit” the ball with your arms and hands. That simple move of posting up on the left leg, pushing the left butt cheek up and back, is the catapult that whips the arms and club through impact. Excellent video Danny, this is truly the “magic move” of the golf swing! 👍

I usually am embarrassed after leaving the range due to all the divots and gouges left behind. Not today....worst shots scuffed the grass a bit but no big divots behind the ball! I have been so weak with my irons (just started back after 5 year hiatus) that I have gotten to the point of frustration. It seems like my 7,8,9 irons were all going pretty much the same distance. Today I just worked with my 7 iron and I m guessing I added 15 yards. I finally have some hope that I can improve. For me the clearing of my left hip seems to be the key. I have had 2 lessons in the last month and neither helped me with this. Can't wait to get some more practice in with these tips!
    Thanks man!

I have been saying for 7 years now that there is a missing link in my golf swing that is preventing me from improving. This video was exactly it!! I knew it had to be in my timing or transfer in weight. Congratulations, you have finally gotten through to me and I am so excited! I have gained incredible yardage. I mean, so much yardage I have took look twice! My hope has been to be in the mid to low 40's and competitive with my friends and I actually feel like I have a chance now. I also watched your "Best Rotation Drill" which just solidified it all. Thank you so very much!! I will continue to explore your videos.

Thank you, Danny. Many instructors know a lot about golf, but you are a tremendous teacher and I really appreciate that. I’m using your tip about planting the weight on the left leg sooner which opens the left hip up and it’s created more power for me. I also love the tip about straight lines with the legs. Never thought about it that way but it’s helped me from sliding side to side. Thanks!!!

Dear Danny! I have watched all your golf lessons, but this is the really #1 one to me. Easy and clear. I was working on a visual image that could help me to keep me swing consistent, while having a confortable feeling.
This image is an arrow (as force vector) going from my right hip to some point in front of the ball, going inside to outside. To do so i realized i that power and balance come from the left leg, as you say, a rotation axis. A very important point to me is also ho to bend the left knee and shoulder rotation.
I was just working on it , trying the best way to make space for the swing, and i must thank you a lot because the drill ok turning the bum back was the icing on the cake! Infacts is much more natural and safe than pushing with the right hip. And pulling has more power than pushing, since it creates lag!
Thanks again, you are a nice person and a super teacher!

I *think* this is the first time I’ve ever commented on a video but I had to say something. I’ve been golfing since I was 13 (I’m 30 now) and have essentially been a double/triple bogey golfer the whole time. Since I’ve found your channel and practiced all of the drills that you so kindly release for free, my golf game has improved exponentially. I broke 90 for the first time ever yesterday and it’s all thanks to you. You’re the best!! Can’t wait to keep practicing and improving with your drills. I was so excited about my score that I booked a tee time for tomorrow morning. Let’s see if it was just a fluke! Hahah.

Danny!! If I could, id scream to the top of my lungs on how your video on fat and thinning my golf swing has literally changed my game. I’ve been hitting it inconsistently for some time and couldn’t understand why I was continually hitting it thin or fat and I figured it out through the drill where I put all my weight on the front foot. This was super key for me to avoid hitting the ground first

Great lesson as always Danny. Your explanation of pushing the lead hip out of the way is spot on. I had tried for months to twist the hips and found I was still weight back = fat chunks, thin toppers, and slices thicker than a Chicago pan pizza! This video reinforces the same mechanics we use in other sports, so simple when you realize it’s the same muscle groups. Your example of a frisbee reminds me of how much I love watching my grandson throw a ball, toss a frisbee, swing a club - all are him doing what comes naturally and with fluid motion. Thanks for making this game less complicated and more natural.

Danny, just quick kudos for another of your drills which described the "takeoff and landing" airplane analogy to hitting driver and irons. For me, the best imagery I have ever come across on that subject. And one thing for certain for me, it's impossible to "hang back" or not shift weight forward into the shot when you are "landing" the iron shot along the "runway." Other benefits as well. Great going Danny!

For actual help in improving at this crazy difficult game, your channel is one of only 2 that I ever take notice of, as you keep the advice as simple as it needs to be. Through watching a lot of the golf fundamentals advice you have posted, I have managed to go from a 28 to 19 handicapper in 2 years (only been playing 4 and a half years). Keep posting these gems. Cheers.

Hands down Danny, best vlog of the year so far! Stacked weight on lead and boom, striking irons great, hips seemed to naturally come round and gained distance without thinking about it! Thanks Danny. I was using Stack and Tilt but with little success until your drill...I was standing up, leaning back and flicking but now that I have a lead platform and push that lead hip back its working. I was scared I was going to hit the ground still but I just went for it and found it allows me to contact the ball in the right place, keeps my arms straight until way after impact and as a bonus keeps my head from spinning out. Great improvement, straight shots and more distance. Brilliant coach!

Hi Danny really enjoyed this video. I have been struggling with watching video on RUclips but not being able to practice. This then confused me. I am a 28 handicap and unable to play enough/regular. Have been interested in stack and tilt golf. Your video massively helped. Not lots of movement and actually made sense to me. Went to the range and practiced yesterday with decent results by slowing down. Today I played 9 with friends after 6 months and actually kept up. A few dodgy shots but it didn't matter. I really felt this worked on the weight on the front foot practice. Less movement and more hands forward at setup. Thanks very much I am very pleased 👍
