Step 2 is a golden tip. Getting a feel for the club, where the bottom point is and how it’s interacting with the turf is extremely important. Mostly because we hardly ever have a perfectly flat lie. Once you get a feel of that motion you’ll be able to make those tiny adjustments to accommodate your lie. Well done

The timing of this video is perfect! Topping is killing my score right now, never used to top but something has subtly changed and I don't know what? This video is the start of getting back to flushing the woods! On a weird side not, I wear the same bobble hat and have just bought new G410 driver, 3 wood and 4 hybrid, it's like watching myself without the beautiful swing!

Like many of the others who have subscribed to Danny, I too have seen improvements to my game. I am 60 years of age, playing of 8 and trying desperately to cut my handicap before it gets too late. Recently, in winter conditions, my last 3 rounds have been +3, +6 and +7. Danny, your influence is all over my golf at the moment and I am grateful to you sir. I watch no other pro as no other pro, IMHO, explains things in such a sensibly simple manner. Thank you Danny and good luck to you sir. Keep it up.

Thus is the Philosophy of Hitting your Second shot First.. I know , we all address the Ball with everything in our minds going off like a 1 armed bandit, tense, anticipation, bells going off, things going round and round, when we should be relaxed, natural swing, not trying to kill it , just go with it, make contact. alot of Golf ,I think,is in our own mind, our Bodies have the natural ability to create a good swing, our Minds on the other hand , well that's another story. after hitting a top shot, duff, shank, what ever , we will address the next ball, same shot, and knock 1 out there, nice and smooth because we have already rid our selves of all that was going on in the first swing, so just hit your second shot first, all of this I've gathered from your Videos/Instructions . Thanks for another great Video.

Right off the bat, I was in sync with Brian. I would be so hyper focused on hitting the ball, I wasn’t thinking of anything else.
This may sound like an infomercial, but since I have been watching Danny Maude’s videos, I am well along a path to recovery from horrible golf play. Not kidding - the videos exclusively on this channel are giving me hope I will get through an entire hole - maybe even two in a row- without feeling the need to invent new cuss words to vent my frustration.
    This is huge.

Great instruction again. May seem obvious to most, but once you highlighted "over focusing" on the ball causing the body to stiffen, I can now relate to the times I duff fairway shots, although mine are usually heavy rather than topped. Next time I'll know to get into "the flow" more , feel less anxious and hopefully, have better results!

This is great advice, I hit a lot of fairway woods and hybrids but find my results to be very inconsistent. One thing I’ve definitely noticed is that I’m more consistent when I slow my swing speed down.

I have a chronic illness for topping my fairway woods and irons . My main issue was standing up and trying to hard to crush the ball . You had a video a few months ago about this same topic and it was suggested to try some foot powder . I also noticed i was choking down on the club handle a little I have learned to be calm and relax and swing naturally with proper follow trough ., I am not cured by any means but improving and hitting my clubs much much better . My average score in my league was anywhere from 115- 132 ...Just terrible . But taking many of your suggestions I have improved been scoring 92-99 . looking forward to this year league play and break into the 80's . Little steps

Hi Danny. I watched a video of yours earlier this week that also concentrated on target rather than strike. When I played on Friday my irons were still a bit ropey but my driver strikes had improved dramatically. Hardly missed a fairway and a few VERY long ones. Why? Because suddenly I was getting through the ball into a finishing position and not getting stuck. I noticed it immediately. Many thanks!

Another excellent lesson Danny . I don’t get to practice as much as I like but whilst my scores haven’t fallen dramatically ( I keep doing stupid things on a few holes which kills my card) I hit more shots more cleanly and invariably have stopped losing about 4 balls a round and now rarely lose any. Your videos have helped that to happen. I need a load more practice and that’s key to real improvement ... but love your lessons and sensible stuff as you explain why you need to do what you should be doing.. keep it up..

Great lesson as usual. I'm struggling with course management. I wondered whether you have considered producing a video where we follow you around a par 3, a par 4 and a par 5 hole, with you commentating on your thought process. Doing it alongside an "average" golfer and us watching you coaching them would be also helpful. Just a thought

I am very frustrated. Thank you for all your videos, they are very helpful. My problem is that everyone tells me that I should glide along the grass when using a fairway wood but I do not know how to change my swing, or ball position, as apposed to striking with an iron.

As a senior the process of getting the ball up in the air is sometimes slow but is improving with the help of this video. Thamxs Danny!

Your teaching skills are great. Wet conditions have been our demise lately. Topping the ball or hitting it fat. Topping is probably to compensate for fat shots, which I think are because we sink into the wet ground. Any tips for this situation will be appreciated in a future video.
